I saw a large office to the left of the front desk which I assumed was the doctor's office and found out it was the office manager's desk, although the lights were always off and she was never there (I have gone to the office 3x in 6 days), despite the other very hardworking women at the front desk crammed in a tight space working their butts you off all with a smile on their faces! Dr. Hilton, was kind, courteous and compassionate, all the things you look for in a dentist but also in a decent human being. He was very transparent with what he was going to do, checked in with me and and answered all my questions. I have worked in healthcare for 15 years and he was one of the most poised and gentle providers I had the pleasure of calling my dentist. It's sad to see such a wonderful office that takes Medicaid!! Get such a bad reputation on sites like Yelp. If you don't believe me give Dr. Hilton and his staff a try for yourself, you will be pleasantly surprised! I cannot sing he or his staff's praises higher enough! I would give Familia Dental 100 stars if I could!

My smile means everything to me, and having a tooth that was chipped was something that truly bothered me. Dr. Shaw did an incredible job fixing it, and I am beyond grateful. If you are looking for a dentist who genuinely cares about their patients and takes pride in their work, I highly recommend Dr. Shaw. Thank you for giving me my beautiful smile back!

She just did two root canals on me and I'm going to need two crowns. She's always concerned about infection. I'm lucky to have found such a caring dentist. To the person that has an infected bump, it may not have been infected at the time Dr. Michaels looked at it. You yourself should have asked for a second opinion or stressed the importance that it was to you.

I am in need of a new dentist now because our old dentist in Bensenville sadly passed away. Maryann Michael is probably the worst dentist I have ever gone to in my life. I went to her several years ago when I had severe pain from a tooth that went bad, It had to be removed. She removed it, but I noticed even at this first visit ever with her, she was impatient about how long it took for the anesthetic to start working. But a short while after the tooth was removed my pain was gone, even later that evening. So a few months later I had a different problem with a tooth, so I went to her again. Big mistake on my part! She had to pull another tooth, and she was having extreme difficulty pulling. When she finally removed the tooth, and the anesthesia hadn't worn off yet, I was still bleeding a lot. When I went to check out and I told her I was still bleeding and in pain. She said (very snarky) "Oh you'll be alright". That was my last visit to her office.

I want to share my story to make people aware. I was a long…read moretime patient of Dr. Pahopos. I have paid him thousands of dollars over the years. I have bad teeth due to Celiac disease, lots of cavities and crowns. But sadly, that has now come to an end. His skills as a dentist are not in question. Over the past few years I have had issues with his billing department. I have dental insurance and Dr. Pahopos is in network for me. This means I should be charged the contracted rate my insurance company has negotiated with Dr. Pahopos for various procedures. After every visit, every procedure, I get an invoice for an incorrect amount. I have always been overcharged.  I have to maintain spreadsheets and provide EOBs to prove the invoices are wrong. Once I go through that hassle, the billing department corrects my invoice. I warn all patients to be smart about keeping an eye on such things. I don't know if the billing department is incompetent or trying to rip me off.  The straw that broke the camel's back was my latest cleaning. I came in the office and Becky told me Dr. Pahopos was not in the office to do my exam.  She said Dr. Basko was working that day.  She checked and Dr. Basko is out of network for me so I declined the exam and just got the cleaning telling her that Dr. Pahopos can do my exam on my next visit.  I never saw or met Dr. Basko. The billing department submitted the claim to my insurance under Dr. Basko's name and not Dr. Pahopos' name.  My insurance viewed that as out of network and covered less of the claim.  I contacted the billing department and they said this is office policy to submit claims based on the doctor in the office that day. I wonder if both are in the office, which they choose? Anyway they said they would make a ONE TIME EXCEPTION to correct the claim. That does not sit right with me.  It feels like fraud.  It feels like the billing department does not have my best interests in mind.  It feels like the billing department is not respecting my choice of dentists and my insurance. I asked the billing department to have Dr. Pahopos call me to discuss.  I actually wanted to tell him why I would be leaving his practice to look for another dentist.  Having to deal with this billing department is too much hassle and too much work.  I never received a call from Dr. Pahopos.  Either his billing department never gave him my request to have him call me or he does not give a crap about me.  I don't think this is good business and I don't want to support a business that is working against me, not working to support me. Again, I warn all patients to be smart about keeping an eye on their bills.

This place is horrible now! They are careless! I have been here about a year ago where they treated my daughter and used Nitrous oxide because my daughter had so much fear. It was great back then the dentist that was there and assistants were very great with her she had no pain during the whole procedure felt nothing not even the local injection! Which is why I chose to keep coming. Keep in my mind I drove almost an hour to come here for that reason because of how great the experience was. Fast forward now I had to bring my daughter back this week and this time the experience was horrible! The dentist that my daughter had apparently was new which at first my thought was fine I will just explain to her about my daughter's fear. When it came time for the procedure and the local injection was given my daughter screamed at the top of her lungs she felt the injection the Dentist instead of comforting my daughter she shushed her and told her she needed to stop and open her mouth! Completely uncompassionate of course my daughter was going to keep crying. They explained she needed a tooth extraction and the dentist while having my daughter screaming at the top of her lungs forced her instrument in her mouth and pulled her tooth and as soon as she pulled it my daughter started screaming and crying again told her to shush as she had her instrument in her mouth I repeatedly asked what was going on if she can feel it and my concerns were ignored she just went ahead and pulled it off. At the end I expressed how bad the experience was because my daughter had never screamed the way she did that day and they tried lying to me saying my daughter cried every time she was there and it was in their notes which was not true because the times I had brought her in she was very calm throughout the whole thing. So when I asked to see those notes and get a copy of them they kept saying they would provide me with them but never did I also asked who I can complain to and again it was brushed off. They refused to provide me with my child's dental treatment and records plus refused to provide me with information on where I can complain which as a patients parent I have a right to. They kept saying if I submit a complaint it would affect the owner of the place!
