Dr. Ali was excellent, he was very thorough and takes time to explain everything that is being performed on your teeth and allows you to make informed decisions on your dental health. There was no upselling or anything like this, only what was medically necessary was performed. Dr. Ali's support staff were also great and very friendly. With medical and dental visits, I find that the visit is always either wonderful or horrible. Hard to have an average experience. It turns out, my husband was right, and Dr. Goel was on the wonderful side. I've been to Avid Dental twice now and each visit has been pleasant, painless, efficient, and comfortable. The staff at Avid always greets me with a smile as soon as I walk in and I've never had to wait more than 3 minutes to be seen. They've been very accommodating any time I've had to reschedule an appointment or change the time last minute. Even better, they take evening appointments on certain days so I don't have to disrupt my work day. The hygienists are skilled and are great about getting me set in the room and taking my x-rays. Dr. Goel is clearly a dentist who knows her stuff. She's very thorough and really takes her time during her examination. You never feel rushed by her and she is always happy to answer any questions you might have. She offers so many services and really went out of her way to help me fix my smile through some filings and whitening treatments to get me ready for my wedding last month. My husband has had a few different types of services from Avid over the years and each one has always gone perfectly smooth. More importantly, Dr. Goel's friendly demeanor helps put you instantly at ease. She remembers you personally and you feel like she truly cares about your well being. This office is perfect for patients of all ages and teeth types - whether you're going just for a standard cleaning or if you need some heavy duty root canals, I would strongly recommend Avid for any dental scenario. The only tough part is making the trek out from downtown to Mt. Prospect (though there is an awesome Thai restaurant near the practice that makes me not really mind the drive at all). Dr. James Kakos is a pro's pro and we are very happy with his dental work. The wife had a big…read moremultiple crown, implant, and bridge job done by him in his Naperville office about 3 years ago and we were and still are very happy with that major work. Today though we returned to this more convenient (for us) Arlington Heights office for a specialized need. Wife had a stripped screw not reliably holding a crown onto an implant and Dr. Kakos was able to extract and replace the screw as well as salvage the crown which was an unexpected bonus. This was a repair that our regular and very good dentist could not perform. I got to witness the work and wow, it was like watching an auto mechanic with a vast array of sophisticated miniature tools at work, and it was fascinating and amazing to see Dr James Kakos' skills in action. I could have more properly used the term cosmetic dentist as opposed to auto mechanic, but all those tools, widgets, and parts made me think of auto mechanic lol. I also have to specify his first name as his son Dr. Stephan Kakos (and third generation dentist!) also now works in this office as well as in Naperville. His specialist services aren't cheap but you get what you pay for and need. Thank you once again Dr. James Kakos!

Dr Kakos phones do not work properly--they go to voicemail hours before closing Dr Kakos uses two endodontic offices, and both are problematic--one wants to charge an emergency fee even for regular appointments, and the other left my temporary crown filling way too high and jagged so that I was in pain for 3 days and did not return my voice mails regarding this. Dr Kakios has zero interest in improving his practice or patient satisfaction. Also, the older woman at his front desk is unprofessional. Find a different dentist--one who is competent to perform his own work and who actually cares.

He saw that my dad was in dire need of new bottom dentures and offered an expedited process to get us to the next appointment quickly. I feel very confident that he's the guy to take on this challenge (my dad). He also didn't have a weird doctor-y vibe that so many docs (especially dentists) can have. He seemed normal, which was very comforting. His support staff (nurse and desk chick) couldn't have been nicer and really were eager to help/please. And don't get me started on their office. It's like a luxury hotel, compared to what I'm use to. Modern, immaculate and super stylish--which makes me think this guy knows his stuff and has cared for all details of the practice. Seriously, so nice to make a random appointment and have all my expectations exceeded. Phew.
