This was my 1st visit with her and she took the time to read through my chart and was able to start our visit with a thorough knowledge of who I was and what my medical history was. She listened to me, took care of all paperwork and already had all bloodwork ordered in the time it took me to walk downstairs to the lab. Her kind and gentle nature definitely shone through. But what I loved the most was that as we discussed different ideas she always resorted back to saying "I am an EVIDENCE-based doctor and make my decisions that way. I absolutely love that in this day and age of opinions masking as fact, she indeed addressed the facts and evidence of each scenario. I have decided to switch my doctor to Dr Tillson. I left today feeling grateful to have found her. Well done!

Scheduling appointments is a pain now. Called the other day to book a double appointment for my wife and myself. Was asked if was it was OK if they were on different days. Finally got it through the scheduling person that we didn't want to make two drives so she made us a double appointment for two months out an hour apart? As for doctors they come in rush through your questions and concerns and are up and out in under 10 minutes. The care quality just isn't there anymore. You send questions in on your portal and lucky if you get a reply and if there is one it a week or more later. Feels more like you're nothing more than an inconvenience to their day. Then today I go on my United healthcare app and there's a message that I need to pick a new patient primary care doctor because he's no longer accepting my insurance. I haven't seen Dr. Madrid for years. Been shuffled off to others doctors. I'm looking for a new practice!

There was no argument, no conflict, This action was unwarranted, intrusive, and based on an incorrect assumption. Furthermore, the way the staff member addressed my significant other was inappropriate, misleading, and disrespectful. Removing him from the room without explanation and treating the situation as if there were a safety concern was not only unprofessional, but also created unnecessary distress and discomfort for both of us. I understand that staff may have protocols they are required to follow, but this situation was handled poorly and without appropriate judgment.

She realized that she didn't have the referral after the fact. She called multiple times to get the referral to which she was told in the month of January 2025 that she needed to come and see the doctor again for the referral! She called multiple times to get the referral, but they continued to tell her she needed to see the doctor for again. Does that make any sense after she just saw the doctor only a month prior?! Today 2/5/2025 I called to speak with the staff that does the referrals, to which they told me that her appointment in December was only a Medicare wellness visit. That the appointment whether she had a problem then or not was not an appropriate appointment for a referral. The exact words were they needed a "diagnosis". To which I said, if you guys could diagnose what she has and takes 2 separate appointments, they could "diagnose" then they should also be able to treat otherwise there would be no need for a specialist. I also work in the medical field; this is a racket. No wonder patients are frustrated with medical care. It's completely mismanaged, inefficient, and the office staff leave a lot to be desired. The two women I spoke with today were Jasmine and Melissa, the seemed very disinterested in why I was upset. Clearly the point of the December visit is so they can get their year end billing done with Medicare. I seriously can see no reason otherwise because my 77 yr old mom wasted her time going to a doctor just to tell her she needs to see an ENT and then not give her a referral. I think I'll be talking to her and have her get her medical care elsewhere from now on.

There is a lack of operational efficiency at every turn. Enough to warrant a poor review on Yelp which I hate doing but people....BE WARNED especially if you are expecting timely service while trying to address a health issue. Calling the office is an infinite hold queue that EASILY exceeds 30 minutes. I did my best to give the benefit of the doubt that it was just a busy day but I am now on my 5th attempt to contact this office and my hold time today exceed 41 minutes before I gave up. Our 1st telehealth appointment was confusing, Dr. Matta was late, then there were zero instructions on how to obtain scripts for labs. We weren't informed which lab the requests were sent to. Since you can't efficiently get ahold of anyone on the phone this required my husband to make an extra trip to drive across town to find out in person. Now let's chat about the Patient Portal where we messaged the Doctor on February 11th and the office did not return our call/message for A MONTH. 2nd appointment. Our $100 copay was conveniently collected but our appointment time came and went with zero communication from the office. I remained in a hold queue for 30 minutes, about to hang up when a text comes through with a Zoom link. Dinner is now cold, there is zero respect for patient time and I am expected to join this call as if I was not just completely inconvenienced at the cost of $100. At the end of the day we are all trying to navigate a broken system. Practices that have zero respect for patient time are not helping. I can't in good faith recommend this office with my recent experience that spanned over a few months.

Jun 11 - i came in for my concerns and annual wellness check/blood draw. went to check out, i asked the receptionist lady if there was a copay and she said no. Jun 18 - follow up to review my test results, one test was missing so they drew my blood again. Went to check out and i asked the guy receptionist if i had a copay he said no. It didn't seem right so I double checked with him and the lady next to him said i do have a $30 copay (so i paid). After a week i called to check on my results cuz i didn't see anything posted on my online account and i was informed my doctor was out and that a doctor needed to review my results with me. They tried to schedule me in office but i asked if it can be a call cuz i didn't want to drive down again. June 27 - got the call from the doctor to review my results (still didn't get why i couldn't just get a copy of my results online, my old Sharp doctor would usually just have the results on my app.) About two weeks later (July 7) i receive a bill for $50(or so) so i called them and they advised that my insurance didn't cover my initial appointment and told me i'd have to reach out to my insurance in regards to my confusion so i did. it looks like the insurance and medical office settled something because the app showed i only owed $30 after a few weeks (July 28) so i paid for it. Aug. 8 i see another bill for 2 different dates for a total of $60 so i called again and the lady on the phone said it was for my first appointment (which i recently just paid for) and my video call (video call that shouldn't have even happened if they didn't mess up on one of my test results). They're literally charging me for everything even if it's a mistake on their end.

Roxie never called me. After some time i called to have a referral to a neurologist, i was told that i am not their patient anymore. I was floored. I asked why; they said because i already moved to another doctor. So, i said no i didn't move yet and i didn't ask for my records to be moved. After the fifth call and my insistence the office manager Roxi got on the phone and said said that their policy was that once i ask for my records to be moved they will not take me back. I tried to tell her that i didn't ask for my records to be moved. She said that I did and that i asked my records to be moved to the new doctor. I said ok, tell me who is the new doctor. She placed me on hold for a while then she came back and said that my records have been flagged because i told them that i was thinking about moving. Roxie was very rude to me. She woukd not let me talk and explain to her that i didn't ask for my records to be transferred to anyone. I tried to explain the situation to her but she insisted that i am no longer their patient as if they are punishing me for even thinking about moving. I have never seen so unprofessional attitude in my life.

Today was supposed to be my second follow up appointment with someone from this office I was called and checked in for a telimed appointment and was told I would be called back around 1 pm after not hearing anything up until 3:50 I was still told don't worry they will call you back .. well they are closed for the day and there was never a returned call .. I would recommend if you are new here to maybe find another office.
