Today we had issues with the Off Da Chain Roll, we order two of them because they are that good, but today on both orders we found shrimp shells when bitting into our rolls. Honestly had the delivery not taken an hour and a half this would've been a 5 star review. Granted it is Mother's Day today. Anyhow, once the food arrived it was extremely hot and freshly done. Take out only. I placed my order through Yelp. But on this occasion there was many ppl waiting outside. Some ppl said they waited 2 hrs. Some said they lost their order. Inside it was a gigantic cluster F. No one seemed to be in charge or have an idea of a process. A customer helped translate for me - and somehow my food was ready and in a bag. It got halfway to me once and they turned around and I was like nonono. That's me. That's mine and then I had to wait again. The food was mediocre at best. I would not end order from here again. This is a 2.5 star review. Today was my 2nd time ordering from Rice Up and probably my last. Here's the rundown: Special Fried Rice - Fresh but not tasty; Tokyo Tower - I have had much better. Heavy on the special dressing / sauce and tuna pieces were very small. Shrimp w/Lobster Sauce - Too garlicky and with a strange aftertaste; Kung Pao Chicken - Very delicious & Fresh; Sweet & Sour Chicken - Terrible with watery / runny sauce; Egg Drop Soup - Very watery. Since my favorite Weston Chinese Restaurant was closed for the evening, I decided to give this place a try. I guess most of the people writing good reviews have never been to Chinatown or a good Chinese restaurant in New York or it looks like they are ordering the sushi. My first impression was it was one of those take out dives you find in most Publix shopping centers squeezed between Hungry Howies and an Arepa place, but against better judgement, I ordered. Since they did not have eggplant on the menu or hot and sour soup, I went with the Chicken Chow Fun, Special Fried Rice and started off with Won Ton Egg Drop Mix Soup. I asked for Chinese hot mustard and they had none nor did they offer noodles to dip or add to the soup. That should have been my first eye opener. The mixed soup had a more than generous amount of wontons, in fact I counted 8 of them which took up most of the room in the quart container leaving not much room for soup. In all of the Chinese restaurants, I have eaten Chow Fun it is alway these wide thick hearty noodles. This was thin noodle about a 1/4 inch thick in a gloppy brown sauce with almost no taste at all. My wife and I ate about half of it before dumping it. The Special Fried Rice is actually a Chinese dish called Young Chow Fried Rice in most other places. It was a generous portion filled with Ham, Chicken and shrimp. Unfortunately all of the Chinese Restaurants I know, use roast pork instead of American Ham which is not typical of Chinese food. Maybe they have no way to make roast pork. but with a name like Rice Up, this should have been a signature dish for them. It had absolutely no taste to it whatsoever and the styrofoam container it was packaged in was a totally turnoff. Get some Chinese takeout containers! With some soy sauce and some spices, I was able to make it palatable. I did not try any sushi because I find that restaurants that do not specialize in Sushi do not have enough sushi business to get fresh sushi on a constant basis. Sorry but next time I will have Pizza when my favorite Chinese Restaurant in Weston is closed on Monday nights. read more

This place is great. They have a vast menu featuring a lot of different Asian cuisine. You can get Chinese food and sushi, which is what I did. The sushi was alright. I definitely wouldn't come here just for sushi. But the Chinese food was great. They are extremely generous in their portions. I ordered the beef pan fried noodles. The sauce was perfect not too overpowering but very flavorful. The amount of beef they gave me was astonishing. I've never eaten at a Chinese restaurant where I was given that much protein. Their fried rice was very good as well. I ordered a small side and the portion was massive. Forewarning: This place isn't really a sit down restaurant as it has the same ambiance as normal take out Chinese places. But, don't let that fool you because the quality and service is far superior. read more

The food is good , ordered online for delivery , also left notes for the cook to exclude onions and they followed the instructions no issues. The General Taos Chicken was SO overdone that the coating was falling off and the chicken inside was crispy... pretty sure I ordered extra spicy, not extra crispy. Not bad but not good either. The Spring Rolls were tough, like chewing leather, and served in a Styrofoam clamshell. The Mongolian steak was spicy, which we liked, but the sauce had an aftertaste. The Pad Thai had no tofu, no lime and no cilantro. We had Loaganma Spicy Chili Crisp at home and it greatly improved the flavor. We also used our own soy sauce because theirs is Kari-Out and too salty. The chopsticks are cheap quality, too. We spent $30 for two entrees and one appetizer, which is high for Asian in our area. The quantity of food is large and one entree is enough for two people. However, the quality was unsatisfactory and I doubt we'd try again. read more

The Singapore Noodles were so heavily seasoned with curry powder that I had a coughing attack. We were excited when a new spot opened up here, but in typical Weston fashion we were disappointed again. The first time we had takeout it was pretty good and we were optimistic about the other potential dishes. Fast forward to our second experience. We order the hibachi lunch special with a salad and a sushi roll. They forget the side salad but didn't forget to hold the pubic hair. Not one but two 2-3 inch curly hairs in the hibachi. I wouldn't of been surprised if there was more but I didn't need to keep looking. Here's where things get interesting. We call to complain about our findings, and they insist on sending someone out to come get the food. Did they not believe us? Is this company policy? Whatever the case, very odd and unprofessional. This was also a takeout order so we had to give them our Weston address for them to come to us. The driver comes and gets the food and apologizes profusely, life goes on. They call me back to tell me they'll be refunding the hibachi and nothing else because we did not send it back! We weren't told to send anything else back and we obviously lost our appetite and did not continue eating our rolls. The whole experience was awful and the poor attempt to make things right was insulting and ludicrous. We will not be returning and will be sharing this ridiculous story. read more

My daughter is a fan of the sushi - which is better than the other stuff we've ordered, but still on the "meh" scale of so-so goodness. The take-out Asian classics (e.g., sesame chicken, fried rice, low mein, spring rolls) are OK and if you are hungry and craving then, by all means, give them a call. The sushi rolls are not bad, but not great. I think their appetizers are the best choices- tuna tataki is pretty good, sashimi app is also not bad. Fantastic family owned restaurant, where good and loyal customers are treated like another member of the family. On the kitchen side, all the food is ALWAYS fresh and prepared to order. The Mongolian Beef and the Salt & Pepper Shrimps are highly recommended. On the Sushi side, the fish that you eat today, was probably caught last night or within the morning hours. Johnny is an artist; he used to work for another restaurant in Pembroke Pines, which was 5 minutes away from my home... now I have to drive to Weston (which I do with pleasure), in order to keep enjoying his master pieces. I have been following Johnny for more than 20 years, and when we go to his restaurant we don't even look at the menu, Johnny knows what we want, and he is always creating new plates. read more
