I've ordered delivery from Dragon Gate many of times with no disappointments. Food is always well packaged and order is always right. We strolled in to dine on a Sunday evening, ravenous. Staff was welcoming and seated us immediately. Service was quick with wait time for our order less than 20 mins. The restaurant's delicious and authentic Cantonese and Szechuan cuisine always delivers. I love the crab rangoon and shrimp fried rice. My friends loved the Szechuan beef and veggies. Very disappointed. The food was just brown, ugly and tasted awful, especially the pork fried rice. Sweet and Sour Pork was chewey and seemed to be old and/or over fried. The only thing we liked was the wonton soup. read more

When I think of my childhood, Dragon Gate was at the center of our celebrations. This Chinese New Year it was very nice to reminisce on good times over a great lunch. Their dining area is large & clean. Nelson was so patient & kind as I took my time deciding what to order. Their lunch specials are so affordable! I had the bbq ribs & shrimp lunch special served with pork fried rice. The wonton soup tasted exactly how I remember. I added fried chicken dumplings, they were crispy and tasty. Sorry already ate my food but I came on here to say I'm new to the area and I love this place I've been about 6-7x now and wow just phenomenal. Their egg rolls are beyond delicious, not basic , their "chicharrón" pork belly is wow! Their rice is good Overall a great place to order from. I used to eat here all the time but lately I've been pretty disappointed with the quality of my food and customer service. I always order for pickup the Singapore rice noodles spicy. This was the 3rd time my meal was not made as requested. The noodles weren't spicy and there were flakes of burnt egg pieces. The meal was also lukewarm at best. I called to make a complaint and was told they don't really make spicy noodles....then why not say that when I placed the order. Prices have also increased and the portions have decreased. The food was ready when I arrived 15 minutes after placing my order. I have been going here for years. I have fond memories of eating here with my family and having fabulous food. It is good but it just doesn't taste the same as in the past. The hot and sour soup was more like mild instead of medium. The vegetable were chopped and not as abundant as before. Food was subpar General Toa's chicken was flavorless and not spicy and I ordered the medium. Fried rice was also bland, service was fast and staff was friendly. The restaurant itself was pretty gross; rug looks like it has never been changed, the fish tanks and there were several all murky and smelly, furniture was outdated and sticky. read more

There are plenty of menu and special options-- from a variety of vegetables and different proteins, I recommend ordering some items that sound good to try it out! Each shareable plate averages around $15 - $20, which is a bargain. Our party of four ordered four plates, which came out to about $75. My favorite was the kalbi style stir fry. Despite visiting around 8:30PM, we waited very long for the food to come out. There were only two other tables of guests. Well, we found the Dragon Gate because some friends asked us to join them for dinner there. Their Sorghum worbar, was not as good the other restaurant but it was very good. This used to be my family's go to spot for tasty Chinese food. Ever since they changed owners, we have noticed a steady decline in the quality. The rice would be hard and tasted reheated. The crab rangoons would be super greasy and limp. The chicken from the honey garlic chicken would be tasteless with large globs of the breading tasting uncooked. I tried to keep giving this place chances hoping it was just them having an off day, but it just keeps getting worse. Today was the last and final time I will be buying from them. The pork fried rice had old moldy bean sprouts that were blue/green. What a horrible experience. We went today, Tuesday at 12:00pm for lunch. There was only one other table occupied, party of 4. We ordered a special Wonton soup, a lunch special pepper steak, and 10 crab Rangoon. We specifically asked for tea when we ordered. The wonton soup barely had any broth. The pork in it tasted off, the chicken was flavorless and so were the wontons. It did have a nice amount of vegetables. The pepper steak should just be sold as pepper onions and peppers, there were maybe 3 pieces of steak and the special fried rice I had upgraded to was flavorless. The crab rangoons were just ok. The tea was never brought to the table and our water was never refilled until the waiter brought our check and we had to ask for some. No apologies when I told him he never brought the tea. We will never come here again. This use to be a pretty good restaurant to eat at. When they close, which will probably be soon, I will not be sorry for them as the service, quality of food, and taste of food was terrible. I was looking for a local Chinese restaurant that servers authentic Chinese food and came across this restaurant. It's Christmas Day, and this place is open. The person on the phone was courteous despite how busy they are (one of the few places open Christmas Day for dinner). She told me they have the standard menu, one for take out and one for dine in. They also offer authentic Chinese food if we order it in Chinese with the owner. What a plus!! I've been searching for another restaurant in the miramar/ pines area that serves authentic Chinese food and with good service/ courteous staff. We ordered Peking pork chops, beef &scallops with vegetables, snow pea tips, beef chow fun. All were cooked very well, fresh, good flavor, not overly salty or filled with msg. This is our favorite local Chinese restaurant. Standard dishes, but a little better. I really like the healthy options and usually get the Chicken Delight. The soups are really good too, Won Ton and a special won ton. I see a lot of people getting the hot and sour soups as well. OK, so Dragon gate... I have mixed feelings about this one. The food was hot and fresh, but I noticed that the mushrooms in my veggie stir fry were canned. They have meal deals available, but they are not " substitute" friendly. If you have certain dietary restrictions or preferences you'll find it difficult to order from their lunch or dinner meal menu. You'll have to order your items as separate entrees. Which means that you have to pay more for sides of everything else to accompany your main entrée instead of having an option as a combo meal like everyone else. Two other members in my party ordered egg foo young shrimp, style and pork style, pork, fried rice, white rice, and shrimp fried rice. They stated that the egg foo young was under flavored including the light gravy sauce. The fried rice was good. My veggie chow mein with white rice was average, the ice tea was watered down, and the environment was casual so everyone was relaxed. I'd like to have more to say but I don't besides that they're trying to or have tried to remodel their look. Again I have mixed feelings because my visit was a 50-50 experience at this establishment.
