This review is for both the Ft. Lauderdale and Miramar Locations. I would say both are equally good with the same level of great service. I came across this place while working out of our Ft. Lauderdale Office and looking for a nice lunch spot. Their tagline is "Authentic Bites" and one you taste the food, you'll see there's truth in advertising. The menu is not extensive but there are really great items throughout. The Appetizers are stellar. The Taiwanese Crispy Pork Chop, hits you upfront with bold Five Spice and perfectly cooked pork. Spare Ribs are tender, flavorful and delicious. The Scallion Pancake and Spicy Cucumber Salad are not to be missed. They're all suitable for sharing but by far my favorite Drunken Chicken is no longer on the menu. It was absolutely fantastic and was always my go to. The classic dumplings are very nice but the Soup Dumplings are small but packed with pork, crab, or chicken. There are eight to an order and you may think I can't finish all this but then it's "that went by fast". I haven't had the Fried Rice but the Noodles are excellent. Dan Dan and Zha Jiang Mian are a must try. If you're looking for something more standard grab the Kung Pao, Mongolian Beef or General Tao's Chicken. Dumpling Panda will always be one of my go to spots for a nice lunch or a relaxing dinner. Here's hoping they bring back the Drunken Chicken or teach me how to make it. read more

Ehhh, ok I guess! I went to Dumpling Panda for the first time to check what all the fuss was about. My wife and I arrived at the restaurant, and it looked clean and well decorated. Several families were seated and seemed to be enjoying their food. The first red flag was that a lady sitting at the table directly across from us was complaining that her food was cold. Nonetheless, I figured we would give the dumplings the benefit of the doubt. We ordered the scallion pancake, an order of the soup dumplings, and a chicken lo mein. The soup dumplings were delicious, well cooked, and seasoned perfectly. Being that this was the main reason we came, I'd say in that regard the restaurant did well. The chicken lo mein was mediocre; the chicken tasted bland at best, and aside from the noodles and sauce, it left much to be desired. The scallion pancake was just ok; it wasn't bad, but it tasted like greasy pastry crust with scallions. My biggest issue during our visit was that we ordered a cucumber salad for my wife, and the waiter completely forgot the order. She didn't even acknowledge this until we called her attention to the fact. The waiter was polite, excused herself, and offered to pack it up for us to go. At this point, however, my wife and I were over it and decided to pay our check and leave. THE PLACE: located in a Miramar shopping center, parking is free, but can be tricky to find depending on the time of the day. Inside the restaurant is very small, it only has a few tables. Outside table seating is also available. The restaurant is well decorated and feels inviting, but it is extremely cold. THE FOOD: On our visit, we had to scallion pancakes 2/5 the flakes and texture was great, but overall nothing special to this dish, chicken lo mein 3/5 good portion, good flavor, but the sauce tends to sit at the bottom of the bowl, so make sure to mix it, and the soup dumplings 5/5, fresh, soft, simple, yet so flavorful. THE SERVICE: When we came in, we got seated immediately. The table next to us was complaining to the chef (?) and manager about the waitress being rude to them, how the food was cold and how other guests received their food before them. I should've taken this as a hint and walked out. The waitress came about 10 minutes after we sat, and while she was nice, the service was lackluster. She also completely forgot to bring one of my dishes, even though it was placed on the tab - I had to correct her and ask her to remove it from tab. She apologized, but between the people complaining, the mediocre food and the missing dish. I was just over it. I wouldn't necessarily rush or highly recommend this restaurant. As soon as I walked in I noticed the inside isn't very big and not a whole lot of seating. We came for lunch on a Friday around 2:00 and it was pretty empty but it started to pick up around 3:00. To my surprise, the dumpling menu wasn't very big. I ordered the general tso's chicken. This was cooked well, flavorful, and enough for two people to share. We then shared the chicken soup dumplings and beef dumplings. I thought the chicken soup dumplings were great especially when you add the soy sauce. I'm not a fan of beef dumplings but my fiancé said it was really good. The service could have been better. There were two servers working and an hour into our meal there were two tables of about 4-7 people in each. Food came out fast but we barely saw our server. She wasn't that attentive nor friendly the few interactions we had with her, but she could have been overworked due to the large parties that came in. This Dumpling Panda is in a strip mall where Red Road, Flamingo Road, and Miramar Parkway kind of meet. If you live in Pembroke Pines, you're familiar with the geographical location. I don't live there, so it was kind of tricky finding the restaurant. Once you find it, there's plenty of parking in the strip mall where it is housed. The eatery is small; it seats about 16-20. It is decorated, of course, with lots of pandas. Service was amicable but not quite fast. The dumplings did take a while to come out, and they came before my soup. For lunch, my cousin-in-law and I each ordered the pork soup dumplings. She also got chicken fried rice. Along with my soup dumplings, I ordered a hot and sour soup and an order of spring rolls. (Yes, we both planned to take extras home). The soup dumplings are a tad smaller than those you'll find elsewhere, which I really liked. The skin is also a bit thinner. I always have trouble eating big soup dumplings, because I don't want to bite into them and squirt the soup all over myself. I want to enjoy every drop, and I did with these dumplings. Even though they were a tad large to fit nicely into my mouth, I shoved each one in so none of the soup would go to waste. And I enjoyed the delectable flavor of a savory seasoned meat with a broth that is probably one of the best I have ever had. The fried rice was seasoned just right and the chicken was tender. The spring egg rolls were crispy, crunchy, and tasty. Hot and sour soup is one of my favorite things and it's very difficult for me to find one that I like. I absolutely loved this one with it's tofu, mushrooms, and other veggies. Having drank all the soup, I only had one spring roll and 4 soup dumplings to bring home for hubby, so I wanted to order either scallion pancakes or the drunken chicken. They were out of both. So, I ordered the fried sauce pork noodles to accompany my leftovers for hubby's lunch. But we were both disappointed with that dish because the pork was dry and salty. For my order of soup dumplings, a bowl of hot and sour soup, an order of spring rolls, and the pork noodles with tax and tip included, I spent $41. There's a dumpling Panda closer to home in Fort Lauderdale, so I think I will try that location next. Hopefully they will have the pancakes and drunken chicken. read more

We decided to sit outside ( there is outside and inside seating) Our waiter was attentive and helpful since, it was our first time and not sure what we wanted. However,the mongolian beef was okay. I usually love onions but I found the amount of onions in this plate to be overpowering and the seasoning as well. The beef noodle soup was okay and the scallion pancake was super oily. That being said, I really enjoyed the crispy pork and dumplings. Definitely recommend getting the crispy pork. I'm surprised I haven't written a review sooner. The last time I came here a few months ago, it was honestly a terrible experience. Our server back then (a Hispanic male) was more interested in entertaining his friends than taking care of us. After wasting over 20 minutes, we literally put cash on the table for the drinks and walked out. This time, though, was a complete turnaround thanks to our server, Chynna. She was attentive, friendly, and made great recommendations. Everything she suggested was spot on, and she brought the food out quickly and with a smile. The Cucumber Salad was refreshing and delicious, the Pan-Fried Dumplings were amazing, and the Scallion Pancake was perfectly done. The only miss for us was the Chili Wonton--not really to our taste. Came here a little over a month ago and even though I've eaten at a few other places since then, my mind has been lingering on this place. Stumbled on it when I had originally intended to eat next door for a casual date night (a fav go-to), but we made a quick pivot when we noticed this spot and it did not disappoint. It has a laid back vibe with limited seating, but we had no trouble getting a table and service was quick and friendly. As we waited for our food, we saw a lot of people going in and out for pick-up orders which was a good sign. Our meal actually exceeded our expectations considering a lot of their options seemed pretty standard for an asian take-out establishment. We tried the Mongolian beef which came with rice and was a good size to share, spare rib appetizer, pork soup dumplings, and mochi donuts for dessert. The dumplings were brought out first and were a great appetizer but got quickly overshadowed by the richer flavors of our following meat dishes. The Mongolian beef was perfectly tender despite being thicker cut pieces, better than your standard take-out version in my opinion. We cleared the spare ribs down to the bone as well. These came last despite being listed as an appetizer, but that wasn't an issue for us; good things take time. And just when I thought my taste buds couldn't be any more delighted, the mochi donuts also surprised. I've tried mochi donuts from a few other places before and they've always been just okay to me. These were served warm and the mochi consistency was actually noticeable-- a pillowy soft chew like I've had in no other. I think I would've even preferred them without the Nutella drizzle, or at least way less because it weighed them down quite a bit. I typically have a sweet tooth, so any donut that can shine without the flair is a home run in my book. I would recommend dining in if you get a chance- fresh is best. Miramar definitely needed a new addition like dumpling panda. I love the concept that ordering is made quick and easy with the QR code, and they were definitely fast to prepare the meal. Dumpling Panda in Miramar is the mothership where all the dumplings are made for the three locations, and it's the one to visit if you want the full experience. The Fort Lauderdale location came second, and the Boca Raton outpost, which shares space with Zuru Ramen (this location adjoins one), doesn't always have the full menu, so Miramar is the best bet. The Xiaolongbao soup dumplings are excellent--better than Dumpling King and Serious Dumplings. They have thin skins, a ginger-forward broth, and were so good we ate them plain without vinegar or soy. Next time we'll try the crab/pork and chicken varieties. The hot and sour soup was another standout, easily the best I've had locally: light, not cornstarch-thickened, packed with mushrooms, seemingly vegan, and with a sharp pepper-vinegar balance that makes it craveable on its own. We had the vegetable pan-fried dumplings, which were tasty but basic--mostly just cabbage. Dumpling King does a better version with chives and glass noodles. We also ordered the Sichuan dumplings, but they came overcooked and falling apart, so I swapped them out for pan-fried pork dumplings. Those were much better, with a nice crisp edge and savory filling, though again Dumpling King's are bigger, juicier, and benefit from their thicker skins. We also tried the Kung Pao shrimp, which impressed me--sautéed shrimp in a spicy, vinegar-bright sauce with cabbage, carrots, dried chilies, and peanuts, much closer to Sichuan style than the usual gloppy version. The wok menu includes more Americanized dishes like General Tso's, Mongolian beef, and chicken and broccoli, clearly catering to a wider crowd, but if the Kung Pao is any indicator they can do them justice. Overall, Dumpling Panda excels at the soup dumplings and hot and sour soup, and while not every dumpling hit the mark, the Miramar location is worth the trip if you want the full range of what they offer. read more

Located on Miramar Pkwy and Red Rd, this new find provides quick, efficient mobile ordering that avoids a need to form a line or meet at a register so you can sit and enjoy company. It's pretty small so seating is limited and there is some outdoors seating to help with overflow, although I feel that it's supposed to be an in and out situation. Dumpling wise they're small but the flavors are there. There was fried and soup variety, as well as wontons and spring rolls. I believe they make everything in house! And I enjoy soup dumplings no matter what sooo I'm easily pleased. We also ordered the Northern Zha Jiang Mian dish, which is noodles with a pork bean sauce, to try. I love panda, I love Xiao Long Bao, I love Zuru ramen... so when I hear of this place I had to make it here asap. Coming from Kendall it's not as soon as I'd like but finally did get an excuse to be in the area! I am a huge fan of Xiao Long Bao, and I'd say this is about the best I can find in S Florida. Juicy morsel wrapped in really thin, delicate skin. The knot is not too big or firm, so I don't get a mouthful of hard dough. A bit disappointed that while vinegar is available at the table, there's no ginger shreds provided as condiment. Even though the picture at the table shows the ginger as part of the correct way of enjoying XLB. We were also excited to try the Taiwanese beef noodles. Granted, I have tried some excellent specimen back in Taiwan, but comparison aside, this is a totally legit bowl of beef noodles. The beef could be a tad more tender, and I like my broth stronger in flavor, but the noodles has a good texture. Also, while cooking a quarter or half a head of bok choy instead of leaves makes for nice presentation, when it's a larger head, it's difficult to eat - both in maneuvering it with chopsticks and actually biting through it. Having grew up in Asia and been to Taiwan, I admit my bar is set very high. However, if I don't get to travel half the world away for my favorite bowl of noodles and basket of dumplings, Panda can adequately satisfy. read more

Both pork and beef were juicy, flavorful, and generously filled. And the star of the meal--the Xiao Long Bao--finally gave me a taste of what I've been missing. The soup-to-filling ratio was spot on, the pork was savory, and the wrapper was nice and thin, though the top knot was a bit thick. Still, I didn't hesitate to order a second round. For dessert, we ordered the Mochi Donuts, and they arrived warm, delicious, and covered in a warm hazelnut drizzle with powdered sugar. Julie loved them... right up until she realized they weren't shaped like pandas or dumplings. A tragic oversight if you're eight and have expectations. But even without the cutesy factor, they were a win. And speaking of pandas, this place is covered in them. Pandas in paintings, pandas on shelves, pandas chilling in weird corners. Visited here on a regular Monday evening around 6 pm. The establishment was clean, adequately lit, nicely decorated, and played good music. My family ordered the shanghai pork soup dumplings, pan-fried beef dumplings, pan-fried vegetable dumplings, Taiwanese crispy pork chop, honey crispy wings, and Taiwanese braised beef noodles soup. Everything came out very fast, fresh, hot, and crispy. I highly recommend any of these items, but I'd say my favorite were the Taiwanese crispy pork chops and honey crispy wings. Every bite was packed with juicy flavor. My mother really enjoyed the house-made chili oil. Our experience with our server, Chynna, was also fantastic. From the moment we stepped in, she was speedy, attentive, and had a very bright and positive attitude. She grabbed us water despite it being available to us at the self-serve station and handed us our menus, the food, and check at a good pace. She checked up on us several times throughout our meal and pre-bussed when she could all while delivering a joyful, shining energy. Soup dumplings in the area, rejoice! Same owners as Zuru ramen I believe, which is a great start. Having lived in NYC I consider myself a bit of a snob in the XLB department, but these will do the trick! Light dough, tasty meat, and good amount of soup. The fried Shanghai dumplings were also nicely soupy - I recommend those for delivery as they should hold well with the thicker dough. The regular soup dumplings are probably better as a dine-in experience as they have the sauce/oil stations setup and the dough is pretty thin so you have to be gentle taking them out of the basket and not breaking/spilling the soup. There was a bit of a mixup with one of our dumpling orders taking awhile to come out, but the servers resolved it quickly, and I appreciate the food coming to the table as soon as it's ready. We also got the scallion pancakes which were fresh and flaky with a good sweet chili sauce. Excited to try the rest of the menu, seems like they're going for a smaller but high quality selection. Cute interior with panda decor, indoor and outdoor seating, self service in that you order from your phone. Makes for a fun casual dinner or lunch. 5 stars because this is a great option for dumplings that you would otherwise have to travel 20-30 min elsewhere for. Notes for business: the timers going off in the kitchen every couple minutes, kind of killed the indoor ambience despite the music cranking. I saw Dumpling Panda trending and I had to give it a try. It opened in a new plaza with a bunch of restaurants with this one being the newest spot. I really wanted to order the Shanghai Soup Dumplings, but they were out of stock when I arrived. As a result I had to scan the menu for an alternative. The menus are all QR codes there, and you order on your own phone to be delivered to your table so keep that in mind. I settled on the Crab and Pork Soup Dumplings, which came out to around $18 with tip! A bit expensive but I was excited to give them a try. They quickly arrived to the table, with which I prepared some sauce to complement them with. The dumplings looked a bit smaller than I was expected which was disappointing. The flavor however was good! I didn't taste any crab in them, just pork which I found interesting. The restaurant really had quite a lunch crowd too, so keep that in mind if you want to go. They have both indoor and outdoor seating too. In terms of soup dumplings, were they good? Yes. Were they the best I've had? No. Unfortunately it doesn't beat my favorite soup dumpling spot by any means, that doesn't mean I wouldn't go back and try something else on the menu in the future though. Food was served in a staggered manner, which hindered our ability to enjoy a family meal together. The delay in serving meant that our meals had become cold by the time everyone received their food, which isn't ideal for us. We provide numerous reviews, and we tend to be quite honest, especially since we dine out every day of the week. I've been on a dumpling kick lately and was excited to try a place in the area for the first time. We chose to visit Dumpling Panda over Dumpling King. The service was quick, you sit down and order from your phone and pay immediately and a server brings you your food. If this is a concept you're familiar with then it goes very smoothly, but we noticed a few people come in after us who were confused as to who will be taking their order. The food itself was good. We ordered three types of dumplings which might explain my next opinion. A lot of the flavors blended together and by the end none of the dumplings really stood out on their own. I personally love Sechuan Dumplings and really enjoyed the flavor, however, it is drowned in their sauce yet it is not spicy at all. The other dumplings tasted good and the broth inside the soup dumplings were very tasteful. We decided to order the spicy cucumbers to add something different to our palette but these were not spicy either. The ambience was nice and when we arrived the restaurant was empty but quickly filled up! It's nice to see they are doing well in this location. Started with the beef pan fried dumplings and the meat was really hard in the center and just not pleasant at all. The chicken fried rice was OK. Finally the sichuan chili dumplings just felt off parts of them were cold, other parts warm. Some bites were sour others were savory. The waitress was really kind though, they were very understaffed really felt bad for her juggling to go, the dinner guests, and helping the kitchen. I went here for quick bite to eat and it was to go. I was served very quickly since it was a pickup online order. I will say the pancakes were flaky and very flavorful I loved them so much! The salad was really good as well. But a bit too spicy for my taste. I am definitely heading back to try more stuff and maybe another round of pancakes because they were too good not to get seconds. read more

After two different trips here I can definitely say that they have something's that they need to work on. Starting with the good the scallion pancakes are the best scallion pancakes that i've ever had. The ribs were also very flavorful and were super tender. On my first trip we sat inside and it was ok. The water cups are very tiny but being inside it was fine to keep getting up. The second trip we had to sit outside due to the inside seating being full. They still gave us the same tiny water cups and expected us to keep getting up to go inside for water. I asked if we could have a regular sized cup because we were outside and didn't want to keep getting up and going inside. They did not offer us bigger cups but instead brought us a pitcher from their next door restaurant. This was an ok solution. They also did not have any napkin holders outside so we had to keep getting up and going inside for napkins. The ordering system is a little different you order via QR code and they bring it to your table. I did enjoy that aspect of things. I understand that this is a fast casual restaurant but simply adding a napkin holder and larger water cups will improve the experience by a lot. The noodles and fried rice are just ok. The dumplings do have flavor but our crab and pork soup dumplings came out raw the first time. I might try this place again hopefully they can work on their outside seating arrangements. read more

The food was tasty, it was Friday night and not terribly busy. We ordered 7 items and each item came out as it was ready with about a 15-20 min wait in between each one. So, give yourself time if you have it. Everyone was getting annoyed around us but all in all it was fine. Tok the wings home because we just couldn't stay any longer. read more
