The absolute highlight was definitely the katsu (pork cutlet)--it was super crispy on the outside, tender, and incredibly delicious! Highly recommended if you're craving a solid katsu and soba meal.

Got the original chicken karaage boneless - I appreciate that it comes with 3 dipping sauces so you can try various flavours and not just stick with 1 flavour like at normal fried chicken restaurants. If you're not in the mood for Katsu, there's other itemskke karaage, baked chicken , rice cakes, or udon. They also serve pizza from Pizza Maru which operates from the same premise. However, the menu was hard to read. The service wasn't super friendly - I almost felt like they were hoping we didn't dine in so they can focus on take out orders. We were the only 2 people that were waiting for their dine in orders and the food felt like it came out slow. The ambiance was quiet. Lots of empty seats. Perhaps it was the day we went, but even if the restaurant isn't busy the atmosphere wasn't as welcoming. Ie, it felt like I wanted to quickly finish eating and leave asap rather than enjoy my meal with my company. Limited parking spaces, but is free.

But unfortunately, this time we got a bit disappointed. Platter was filled with cheap/frozen fries that I don't event want to put it in my system. Salmon udon looked so sad, and we couldn't finish it. Cocktail was not bad though. I liked their lighting and decorations. The server looks cute but doesn't seem to be knowledgeable when we had questions (and keep forgot our requests..) I support local businesses and hate to say this. But probably I may not come back anymore as now there are many other fusion bar options available in North York. *This is only personal opinion, and your experience might be different. I'm not mad or anything haha. Just being honest about what we had that day hoping this helps other Yelpers to decide where to visit or what to eat spending their precious time and money :)

This spot only opens at 6:00 so when we got there for 7:00. The place was cold and still warming up. And everytime the door opened it would Get cold over again so that was the uncomfortable part. The dishes had flavour nothing spectacular. The only dish I really liked was their poutine and curry udon. The rest were ok. Lots of spicy choices too

July 5/2025: Dinner with my Al…read more I'm my opinion this was terrible! We started with roasted peanuts with the skin on. I thought they'd be warm or hot but nope! Just $6.99 for a plate of peanuts! The mains were shared. Deep Fried Spicy Chilly Chicken ($21.99) which consists basically of chicken knuckles with very little meat. The spice was delicious but it includes whole red chili's, which were a little over the top for hotness. Second was the Skewer Platter ($24.99). It was chicken knuckles, beef, pork. Good but lacked any real quantity of protein & was disappointing. Finally the last was the Yang Zhou Fried Rice ($15.99). This was the best of the dishes & the only one we fully finished. Service was good & fast but there was a mild language barrier. The menu itself was only available online so we missed some subtitles of said menu. We were the ONLY customers in the restaurant when we arrived. This is more traditional Korean Food & was definitely NOT to our liking. Mostly it came down to what we thought vs what we got. NOT a do over for me!

I visited Baili expecting to have fusion food, but the menu may have changed because what I got…read moreseemed to be Chinese food, which reminds me of spicy flavours from Sichuan though maybe it isn't exactly that type of cuisine (spicy and numbing peppercorns, if you're into it). We ordered the spicy beef, assorted skewers, corn ribs, and finished off with a salted egg tiramisu. The menu seems kind of inconsistent and unfinished from when we went a few weeks back. Even ordering some menu items was a challenge, as it was only in Chinese, and we had to use Google Translate to understand what they were. It definitely did not feel like a full fusion restaurant, but more like a Chinese restaurant with a few items that were a bit more Westernized, like the corn ribs and a couple of dessert options. There was a ceviche option (we didn't order it), but it was really just sashimi cut into chunks, not the delicate, thinly sliced ceviche some might expect. However, the main thing that really drew me in was the salted egg tiramisu! It's a good tiramisu, don't get me wrong. However, I hardly tasted the salted egg component, it very well could have been a regular tiramisu, as the salted egg flavour was really subtle that I was questioning whether there was salted egg in there. We eventually did find the salted egg layer. The assorted skewers and corn ribs were tasty and I would recommend. The Hunan spicy beef had good flavour and also recommended by the waiter but was a bit too intense. Keep in mind, if you don't like coriander or think it tastes like soap, there is a ton stir fried in. It wasn't really to our taste preference in terms of spice level because there were a ton of numbing peppercorns in it, it was like eating a landmine trying to dodge them. We brought it home, and I picked out the zillion peppercorns and stir-fried the beef with some eggplant and a touch of sweetness and it worked so well. The menu left me a bit confused and unsure how I feel about this restaurant overall, as there wasn't one signature dish that made me feel like I had to revisit for it and of course getting burned with the peppercorns wasn't the best either especially when we mention less spicy but we should've specified less numbing (we didn't know it would be numbing though).

Location/Service This place is near the Yonge/Finch area (a…read morebit more south of Finch near Empress Walk). It's on the second floor of the building, so it's not hard to miss the sign and location. Parking is available around the block - just make sure you're eligible to park there to avoid any tickets. Inside is pretty big, can probably do big group sizes as well with privated areas. Staff were friendly and nice, and can speak English if you have any questions. Food They do charcoal BBQ kind of setup - so I find that a bit more flavorful compared with gas. Their meat selection is pretty premium - although not AYCE - it can fill you up pretty quickly. The meat gets cooked pretty fast too, cause it does become very hot with the charcoal - so it's better to coordinate with everyone to not overcook the food. There is an AYCE dessert bar on the side, which there's a chocolate fountain and a lot of different fruits or small snacks available, including marshmallows to finish up the meal. This place is always packed - the only thing I wish it would work better is their booking system. Even at 9pm, there were 50 tables ahead of me? That's so crazy!

I've been here a few times now, and definitely join the online waitlist before you go, especially for dinner or on weekends. It gets very busy, and since there's no time limit for tables, the wait can be quite long if you don't reserve or join the queue ahead of time. This visit was with a party of five on a weekday, and luckily we were able to book a same-day reservation. The menu has a great variety of beef, pork, seafood, and vegetables for grilling. Our favourites of the night were definitely the Lemongrass Dai Style Beef Plate and the Aromatic Wood Pepper Beef--both were well seasoned and flavourful. We were also celebrating a birthday, so we ordered their birthday meat "cake" ($36.99). It was such a creative idea! It was a layer of thinly sliced beef, with pork jowl arranged on top to look like a flower. Definitely a fun surprise for anyone celebrating. There was also a complimentary sauce bar with plenty of dipping sauces, seasonings, and garnishes. If you have a peanut allergy, though, be sure to check the labels, as some of the house seasonings contain peanuts!! They offer self serve and refillable potato chips, shrimp chips, and fresh tangerines. At the end, everyone gets a marshmallow to roast over the charcoal grill, which was such a fun touch, followed by your choice of a popsicle. You can choose from Melona, a milk ice bar, or a black sesame ice bar (black sesame was the favourite at our table!) Their drink selection is also worth checking out. They carry a lot of unique Asian beverages that you don't often see elsewhere. We tried a pear-flavoured bottled soda that was refreshing and something completely new for us (although it does have sort of a cough syrup after taste) Overall a great dining experience with endless selections!
