    Salmon and egg onigiri
    Jamie C.

Tried the onigiri today --- omg so good!!! Had the salmon&egg and the shiso&egg! Also of course the salmon sandwich again =P Some pics attached for your enjoyment :-)

Mar vista Farmer's market ..great rice sandwich ingredients except we had a Super Salty Salmon.

Service was extremely friendly and I would most likely rate it even higher on my next visit, but the first time I had it was at the Mar Vista Farmer's Market this past Sunday and I went with the salmon rice sanwich. It looks great and everything tasted great...EXCEPT THE SALMON. It was wayyyyy too salty. Everything on the menu looked great and prices were good for what we were ordering, but sadly the supremely salty salmon was too much for us to handle. I would have returned to give them a headsup to go easy on the salt but there was a long line and hopefully it was just my one salmon and not a whole batch for future customers who were about to also have a salty sunday.

    Spam! So good

I'm only reviewing the spam sushi, but it is really good. They cooked down the snap to get that canned taste out of it and crisped it up on the outside a little bit. We got two pieces which were laced with beautifully stamped seaweed. The rice was falling apart so it was hard to eat but it was so delicious.

fresh and organic omusubi/onigiri at the Torrance Farmer's Market When you don't want to make your own onigiri or don't want the supermarket rice balls then on Tuesdays and Saturdays you have an option for warm omusubi made to order with organic white or brown rice. The Rice man's ulterior motive is to get you to buy their Organic Koda Farms rice which is grown in California, which is by the way where all of the white rice comes from in every Japanese Restaurant in the US, so what better way to open an omusubi/onigiri stand at the Torrance Farmer's Market. Besides rice balls they have Oyako-don, Sushi Rolls, yaki-soba, chicken teriyaki bowls, and omu-rice. I am pretty sure the most popular items will be the sushi rolls, but I will stick to the ume-onigiri. We ordered a salmon onigiri with brown rice and an ume onigiri with white rice. Since they are hand made the filling in distributed in every bite and not just in a little ball in the middle. The nori is toasted but you should eat them immediately or the nori gets soggy. The rice was perfectly cooked since they have three fuzzy logic rice cookers making perfectly sticky and chewy rice. They can also add furikake by request which is another item they are pedaling for $4 a jar which contains no GMOs or MSG.

The best spam musubi! My only regret is that you can only get it on Saturdays at the torrance farmers market. I'm going to work my way through different items on the menu each week!

They cook delicious organic rice, and everything they make, from freshly made rice balls, spam musubi, and sushi, is delicious!

Whenever we go to the farmers market at the Wilson park, we stop by and get the salmon onigiri (rice balls) and Spam musubi.

The good: I've been so excited to checkout Valmonte Farms…read moreand I've had it on my bookmarked list for so long! The worker at Wav Cafe recommended it to me as he also works at Valmonte and I'm so glad I got to check out their Saturday holiday market. This place is a dream. It feels like a hidden fairy oasis, hidden garden, rural gem, and rustic childhood dream. My husband loved looking at the fruit trees (avocado, peach, mulberry, lemon, etc.) The kids loved running around, seeing the chickens, petting the friendly cat, drinking free hot cocoa (there's free coffee too), and finding pine cones and interesting plants. I bought some fun turquoise jewelry from one of the picnic tables at the holiday market. They had vendors with bonsai plants, jewelry, thrifted clothes, crochet items and more. I loved the holiday music, moist leaves on the ground and magical feel. The bad: The hot cocoa could probably be served less hot especially for kids. The interesting: The parking lot is behind the public school and is maybe shared with the school? The bathroom is across the baseball field. My husband was wondering if he could purchase cuttings from their mulberry plant but a couple of the workers weren't sure. The parking lot does get full so I noticed folks park in front of the homes. They sell Valmonte farm merch too like sweaters. They also sell lemons, kale and other produce grown in the garden.

What the heck. I've lived in this neighborhood for almost 3 decades, walk around this school…read moreregularly, and this was my FIRST time ever visiting. I only started hearing about this in recent years, and initially thought the farmers market only happened once a month. Turns out, it's every saturday, and they've started to get better about advertising/directing you with signage. Probably still needs some more signage though, as I and many other families were lost looking for the entrance (even got asked as I left purely because I was holding squash and fava beans lol). It's not a traditional, large farmers market - in fact it's probably not great if you're going looking for a lot of produce. But it is a cute place, and there were plenty of arts and crafts small vendors, with a mix of foods and even a coffee stand inside. Feel like this is a great service to be running alongside the massive amounts of families coming and going for little league that was happening right next door. Chatted with the staff briefly, and they were super friendly and explained more about the garden. There are spaces (a cute greenhouse) for parties & teaching events, and a chicken coop. Just a very nice area to explore. And the fava beans were delicious.

Our group organizer asked everyone to arrive to the ranch by 9:30 a.m. My wife and I made the long drive from the Torrance, Ca area. Although the trip was lengthy, I was pleasantly surprised upon arrival by the warm welcome and helpful staff assisting with parking, which made for a positive first impression. We arrived to Bloom Ranch arriving at 9:30 a.m., after a long drive from the Torrance area. Despite the chilly 41-degree weather, the staff made everyone comfortable by welcoming our group inside to warm up before seating us outdoors. With about 100 guests in attendance, and heat lamps provided, the setup was well organized and accommodating. Guests were dismissed by tables to enjoy a brunch that was fresh, hot, and delicious. From eggs, grits, and waffles to a made-to-order omelet station, every dish was prepared perfectly. The attentive food crew ensured coffee and juice were served promptly and professionally. Adding to the atmosphere, a live saxophonist provided enjoyable music during the meal. After brunch, guests were invited to explore the Bloom Ranch Store, which offered a wide variety of goods including fresh eggs, greens, honey, butter, pantry items, harvest boxes, candles, vinegar, and more. The ranch also offers driving and walking tours of the beautiful property--an experience you look forward to enjoying on your next visit.

All staff were helpful, friendly and knowledgeable about the product. The energy was so relaxing, happy and tasty! We were able to sample the vinaigrette, tangerines, trail mix, toffee, jams and butter. My favorite was the honey ginger and peach vinaigrette. The trail mix was addictive and the honey was so good. I bought broccoli, green tomato, peach and honey ginger vinaigrette, brown sugar scrub, sun dried tomato with garlic, honey in a jar, peach vanilla jam (taste just like peach cobbler) Can't wait to go back in the spring
