Came to Tanaka Farms as a parent chaperone for a field trip. The kids had a great time! We started the tour with a wagon ride where our guide gave us a history and description of all that is offered on the farm. The kids loved when we picked green onions and strawberries to take home. There is a large shaded bench area for lunch and a good selection of produce and baked goods in their store. I've heard from many that it's pricey to go during the holidays, especially for the pumpkin patch, but as a field trip, we all had a great experience!

Took my twin toddlers to the Strawberry festival and they had a blast. We met a 5 day old baby goat along with many farm animals. There are many photo opportunities and the tractor ride was a nice little break. Looking forward to visiting more often. Loved the jam we bought (strawberry guava) and the gummies.

Does anyone not like Tanaka Farms? Their pumpkin patch is a seasonal must for us every. single. year. There's a million photo ops, loads of games and interactive sections for all ages and my favorite part in the little market on your way out. It's such a step up from the quickly put together parking lot patches around the county. Also it's open year round with multiple events not just during Halloween.

I finally got to check out this farm! My kid really enjoyed it. We took advantage of their free entrance on the weeekend that ends April 26th. Paid $10 for parking and was able to enjoy their free wagon tour around the farm as well as the free barnyard experience. We were able to pet some goats and horse. When they drove by the strawberries, you could smell the sweetness of the strawberries. It was a nice experience and the staff were all friendly. It is a bit dusty though. They also had a good amount of fresh produce and food for sale. I would come back again.

Tanaka farms, what an amazing Saturday farmer's market turn out. Plenty of parking but quite full since the farmer's market is amazing. Many booths but most importantly for us....trays of delicious strawberries to choose from, my only wish was that it was also corn season.

Kids get to see farm via tractor.

This is a great place to buy fresh produce and bring children to experience farm life. We took students on a tour of the place and they got to pick fresh strawberries, learn about how they grow crops, and see farm animals (sheep, chickens, etc.). They have a store where you can buy produce and gifts. It's worth a visit!

Decided to go on their opening day, and everyone had so much fun! So much to do, egg hunt, pictures with bunny, games, sandlot, shop with vendors, strawberry picking or purchasing, rides on the tractor, and food. Not sure if they have the same menu all the time but all the food we got was delicious, especially the strawberry salad Everything seemed very well organized and clean. Next time definitely trying the strawberry tour with the kids!

What a great experience on the Tanaka Farms. My husband and I took our toddler to the farm so she could experience picking strawberries and to see the farm animals. It was very hot even though we bought the 9:30 am tickets. We got to ride on a wagon pulled by a tractor that takes a tour through the farms. You get to see all the vegetables and plants. We got each a celery bunch and each got to pick strawberries to fill one carton. We got to eat the straight of the vine. We only had to pay for two tickets for us as children under two are free but children do not get their own cart to pick strawberries. We'd definitely visit again as we saw they do different events according to the season. It's not super close to use but we'd make the drive again. You can produce directly from them and they sale little farm knick knacks. There are porta potty's if you have to use the restroom. They do provide a changing table and sink to wash your hands.

I just did the Strawberry Happy Hour at Tanaka Farms, and it was such a great experience! It is easily one of the best activities in the area if you're looking for something fun and outdoorsy. The Happy Hour is an amazing value. You get a 1lb green basket to fill and take home, plus you're allowed to eat as many strawberries as you want while you are out in the fields. The berries are incredibly fresh and sweet nothing like what you find in the grocery store. It's a very peaceful experience being out on such a large, beautiful farm. A few tips for your visit: * Check their site/socials: They usually announce Happy Hour dates last minute based on how many berries are ripe, so you have to keep an eye out for the schedule. * Footwear: It's a real working farm, so it can get pretty dusty. Definitely wear shoes you don't mind getting a little dirty. * Timing: Since it's a 'Happy Hour,' the windows are specific, so make sure to arrive on time to get your full picking session in. Highly recommend this for families, a unique date, or just anyone who loves fresh fruit. It's a local treasure

We visited the farm on a Sunday morning for their open house. Entrance is free but they charged a parking fee and you have to reserve ahead for the time slot. Ours was 10:30 am but by the time we arrived, the parking lot was full and there were lots of cars waiting for a parking space. With a continuous stream of new cars arriving, it was quite confusing at times. The farm ground was sparsely decorated but there were many additional booths besides the regular vegetable and fruit market stalls. These temporary booth displayed a variety of products. There were literally mountains of people. Lots of kids too as there were wagon ride, various games and DIY projects. Even the Easter bunny had a booth! Overall it's fun if you like shopping around and don't mind the crowd.

Came early to strawberry tour and picking. Was $30 to pick strawberries and go on a tractor tour around d the farm. Great for families a lot to do for kids. Picking strawberries were fun and they give you a plastic container to take home ones you pick. Spent a few hours here. Bring some sunscreen and water. They have a farmers market and vendors with all kinds of things. Fresh breads and jams, and other things. We had a fun experience

10.10.25 - my first time at a pumpkin patch! Thankful for my friend who took me. She purchased the tickets so I am not sure how much the entrance fee was. There was no service out there so be sure to screenshot your tickets or confirmation ahead of time! We got there around 5pm and were there for about an hour. It wasn't packed at all. They have food and drinks for purchase on-site in case you're hungry. My friend got a hot dog, chips and a lemonade. I tried to get a pumpkin cider but the group in front of us ordered the last of it. All they had left was wine or beer so I got some wine. We walked around a bit, looked at the animals and took some pics in the pumpkin patch. They have wagon rides, an educational area, and a play area for kids. There are some additional games and activities as well but those cost extra. Definitely need some cell service out there and still bummed that they ran out of pumpkin cider but overall, it was cool. Something different to see and do. I'll have to check out some others to compare

Had a lot of fun at their Hikari Light festival. I am amazed that they draped the entire farm in lights!!! Also impressive was their legacy wall detailing the history of Issei & Nisei Japanese American farmers. Wow. Don't forget the wall listing different camps that JA's were incarcerated in during WWII. Never forget. We enjoyed the tractor ride & corn maze (simple maze, mainly for kids :)). There were other games, family-friendly craft activities and a ride for small children. I would say this is mainly a family event for those with small kids. Knowing that, my partner & I still went because we love Tanaka Farms. Also a great place to buy last-minute gifts.

Are there restroom not portable toilets but clean flush with hand wash restroom?

Hi right now we only have porta potties on site. They are cleaned throughout the day. Hand washing stations outside the porta potties.

Hi.. I'd like to ask what would the ticket ($28) include per person? Thank you

Ticket price reserves a tour spot on the tractor trailer. A plastic clam shell container of strawberries in season. A produce bag of a u-pick veggie stop on the way to the berries. Sample berries off the plants while picking. When the tractor… Read more

We don’t have any fruit to pick in December. We do sell satsuma tangerines which are really good during the winter months. Strawberries will be coming soon. Thank you.

Do they allow wagon strollers? Like veer?

Yes they do allow wagons and strollers. Great place to visit !

What type of strawberries are grown here that you pick in the tour?

Not sure the type but they are beautiful Red & fresh. If you get the last tour of the day they don't get upset on how many you try to stuff in your container they provide. Also you can eat while picking them too.

Does Tanaka farms use pesticides on the Strawberries?

To the best of my knowledge no they do not use pesticides. As soon as you pluck the strawberries while on the tour, you can eat fresh from the vine or if you want, give them a light rinse with a water bottle

Are small pets allowed? (Carried vs leashed)

So sorry. Due to health department regulations (we grow and sell food) as well as our insurance policy, pets are not allowed at Tanaka Farms. ADA service animals are always welcome.

How likely are you to run out of ripe strawberries for picking during the week before Easter?

As long as you have a reservation for picking, there will be enough strawberries to pick. We do not sell more spots on the Strawberry Picking Tours than we have strawberries. However, our tours are selling out pretty quickly, so we highly recommend… Read more

Is it true that there will no longer be games, face painting, arts & crafts at the farm this year? My grand children look forward to ding these things when they visit.

We will have games and activities during special events. We are adding a new play area and new games and activities. Facepainting has always only been during the Pumpkin Patch and Hikari.

Are we allowed to bring in outside food during the weekend to the pumpkin patch?

Yes you can bring outside food in.

Hi! On weekdays, is it free parking all day?

During Pumpkin Patch season, parking is free all-day Monday thru Thursday, and Friday mornings before noon. Parking Passes are required Fridays starting at noon, and all-day Saturday and Sunday.

No. It's under a shade tent next to the Barnyard.

Sorry our partnership ended a couple years ago with sanrio.

Can kids pet the animals?

When we went the animals were behind gates but you could pet them through the gates, they just didn't roam as freely for you to be able to pet them.

Total: $14.40 Pros - Fun unique outing opportunity! - Friendly, informative, and welcoming hosts. - A variety of fruits/vegs (about a dozen types in October: radish, lettuce, cantaloupe, cucumber, carrot, pepper, watermelon, beet, squash, pumpkin, tomato, strawberries). - Fresh! The strawberries and tomatoes were delectably sweet and sour. - The farm is big enough to enjoy. No long lines. Pay everything including the parking fee at the end. Cons - Driving there, you may notice a couple CLOSED (on Sundays) signs. Turns out that's for the same-address Nursery. The U-Pick Farm's still open. I was about to turn back. lol - Only one porta potty. So if you're desperate and it's occupied... don't think about doing a fertilizing favor. - The sink by the porta potty is small and button-activated, so that's two flaws: 1) you need to touch the frequent-contact button as you wash your hands, which keeps your hand dirty, and 2) your knuckles rub against the dirty sink basin. - You can buy some of these cheaper at the local grocery store. So if you think about it, you come to the farm to pay MORE to do the work FOR them. It's funny. But yes, you're paying for the fun, the fruits' freshness, and the experience. - Kind of a long drive. Expect total 1-2 hr commute. You may want to bring an ice box. Neutral - Watermelon was refreshing, but the red/white ratio was not as big as I'd like. - The fruits are smaller than at the grocery store, but that's likely because they're natural and non-GMO. That is, the store's fruits are often bigger cuz they're genetically modified. - Most of the fruit/veg rows are labeled, but a few weren't, or weren't clearly labeled. - Too bad the corn wasn't in season.

The drive to the farm was easy on a dirt road once you're on Avenida Del Oro, go through the entrance gate to the paved parking lot. You'll see the owner, Mr. Yu hanging out at the tables. He scanned our Groupon and gave us each a bag. Said no rules, we can go anywhere on the property. Also gave us a small bottle of freshly juiced OJ. I had my elderly mom with me and Mr. Yu suggested that we drive back out near the front entrance where the grounds are level. Otherwise, it would be too steep for my mom. I'm so glad he suggested this because we didn't have to hike up a slope, not many people come this way so there were many large tangerines up for grabs! Tips: -Sun hat -Sunscreen -Sunglasses -gloves -Closed toe shoes (slippery when wet) -Tools for easy snipping or to grab the ones up high -Gently twist, don't pull the fruit -You can sample while you pick! -Clean restrooms -pay at the end Over 35 acres of tangerines, the very top of the hill are avocados, the trees in front of the parking lot are lemons and on the other side are blueberries. The video you see on You Tube or their website is outdated. They do not have a restaurant or wedding area but they are working on rebooting this. The tangerines are so juicy with a mix of sweet and sour. They have limited hours on Saturday and Sunday only from 10-2. The Groupon deal asked for reservations. I wasn't a fan of this just because things could change so I sent an email asking how strict and got an automatic reply, same as the last with a form to fill out reservations. I wish it was more personable. When I got there, he only cared about scanning the Groupon. So I don't think they are strict if you were to just show up without a reservation. Be on the lookout for snakes!!! Stick to the trees that you can clearly see through the branches. Avoid the ones that are all bushy as if something could be hidden there. My mom saw a snake coiled up on the branch when she was about to stick her hand through.
