This is a really cute small garden at the Torrance Museum and Cultural arts building. Would I come out of my way here for a Japanese Garden? No, but if I'm in this vicinity going to the Torrance Museum, Torrance Cultural Arts Center, Torrance Theater, Public access station, or the police department definitely Yes! It's more of an office building that has a small walkway garden as opposed to a full-on Japanese Garden but as long as you know that it is quite endearing. It's pleasant to stroll along and enjoy the scenery and koi fish. I'd estimate about 5-10 minutes max. It's great to come here if you live around this block or are trying to find every single Japanese garden you can find. For something larger check out my list of other Japanese Gardens: bit.ly/3CLXWV9

Pine Wind Garden is such a beautiful place especially to get married at. I had a civil wedding a few days ago and everyone was so kind. It was such a beautiful day and just a amazing place.

The Pine Wind Garden is a small but tranquil. The koi pond had clear flowing water that had many koi fish in different sizes and colors. The fish were beautiful and swimming towards you as if you were going to feed them. The plants were green and lush. The garden was a nice, peaceful get away from the city life. Easy to find parking and free admission.

A free small garden. Pretty tranquil spot where a few people were just playing instruments or relaxing on the bench. I enjoyed the fishes and was a cool spot to checkout if you're also checking out the art museum or library nearby.

A great, small little public garden that is free and open to everyone! The Torrance civic area has a bunch of great art and community spaces (this is walking distance to the Torrance Art Museum!). This is in the civic center. Finding it was confusing on Apple Maps, but parking was free so we parked and walked, and once we were on foot it was a lot easier to navigate. The garden is behind the theater and is very small. It has a few benches which would be really nice to sit and read or color at. We had gotten tea and walked around. There is a koi pond with fish (no opportunity to purchase food, and you are not allowed to bring your own). When the weather is nice, this is a great place to relax in the sunshine for free!

The garden is right next to James R Armstrong Theater. The waterfall, the pound with coy fish.... very zen atmosphere! There are a few benches under the trees. Totally a great place to relax before or after the show at the theater. This garden is very well maintained.

[Review #45] After every ballet class, my l'il one refuses to leave without stopping by the garden. There's a stone path encircles the garden, with a small pond to the east that's filled with koi, some turtles, & on some occasions, a mallard or two will visit. H likes the gentle breeze & it's usually cooler in the garden than the rest of TCAC. She regularly makes a couple of rounds with a stop or two at the koi pond before we can have a peaceful departure. I guess the tranquility of this place mellows her for the ride. LOL :-X Since she loves gardens & koi fish, I think we need to visit a couple local favs of mine: Earl Burns Miller Japanese Garden (I visited regularly during CSULB midterms & finals week... serenity now... LOL) & South Coast Botanic Garden (free on the 3rd Tuesday each month). Namaste [bowing]... Om...

There are pretty koi fish in the pond to observe. The architecture in the courtyard is beautiful and makes for a great spot to picnic.

The only issue we ran into was with the guests that had special food requests (gluten free, allergies, etc.)---there was a slight mix-up and some of them didn't get their food until much much later on in the night. The food though, was great overall! People kept talking about the chicken and the salmon. I remember the guests commenting on how delicious the food was. I remember that my husband and my sister (she went to the food tasting, since I couldn't make it from Northern California), said that they weren't too impressed during the tasting, but they really blew it out of the water for the day of! Kathy: Kathy is so sweet, friendly, and professional--very extroverted! She made sure that all the details were taken care of and the night went rather smoothly. We were a bit scared because I was checking the weather and it read: sunny, sunny, sunny, sunny, BLUSTERY, sunny, sunny. That blustery day? Wedding day. Ugh, right? But fear not, Kathy made sure it all worked out, and we were still able to do the ceremony outside! DJ Lance: GREAT guy. Super sweet, friendly, and he played such great songs. We gave him a list of songs we'd like, and he rolled with the punches and went for it. He also led our guests in a jeopardy game about my husband and me, in order to dismiss the tables for the buffet food. He projected a powerpoint of us as a couple, growing up, in our respective towns. The guests absolutely LOVED him, as did we. We are quite happy that we chose RBH. After about 10 in-person interviews of other locations, we do not regret our decision.

I remember taking ballet as kid and modern dance as a teen. I also took a workout class when I was in college. I always appreciated the large and spacious dance studios where the classes were held. Now that I'm older I've also come to appreciate Torrance Cultural Arts Center as a venue. I've been to several different festivals here such as the Japanese Matsuri Festival and Lunar New Year festival. This spot is perfect for the community to get together and like how each festival is able to have many different booths. I also love how there is a stage area both outside and inside. I've also attended the Torrance Firefighters' Annual Spaghetti Dinner here. This is another great event at this spacious venue. Despite it being quite a popular dinner, there''s plenty of room for all to enjoy an evening out. Torrance Cultural Arts Center is great! There were food vendors, arts and crafts, music, performers, lion dance, magician doing magic tricks, ballroom dancers, a lot of vendors promoting services as well as other sellers selling decor, ornaments, plush, garment/clothing, etc. There were a lot of things to see! They even have a small area to do a small arts and crafts paper lantern for the kids! You can even go further in and see the small koi pond and peaceful garden (PINE WIND GARDEN). The mayor was there along with other community and local city members. They sure pulled some strings to make that small event happen. It was so fun and memorable.

Unfortunately, my experience with this company was extremely disappointing and stressful…read more A final meeting and food tasting took place one month before my event, where I approved the chef and paid the remaining balance in full (in cash). At no point was I told I would need additional staff hours, more chairs, or any extra fees. Despite this, three days before my event, I was suddenly given a new balance. Then one day before the event, I was told I needed to provide liability insurance -- information that should have been disclosed at least 30 days in advance, not the day before. This resulted in unnecessary stress and constant back-and-forth between the owner and billing. Other issues included: * A substituted chef * Food that did not match the tasting * Dessert table that ignored the approved pink and gold theme * Incorrect lighting, missing slideshow, and missing napkins * Guests being asked to assist with tasks that should have been completed beforehand * Venue conditions that were not as represented After the event, I was also asked to leave a positive review in exchange for compensation, which I found highly unprofessional. I have text messages and documentation that confirm my experience and the timeline of these issues. While the venue itself is beautiful, the communication, execution, and business practices were chaotic and unacceptable. If you are considering this company, be prepared for last-minute fees, poor communication, and broken promises. -Khrystyne

We truly enjoyed the trolls and I am so grateful the trolls are here until October 2026. The butterfly experience was fun fun fun! It is a small enclosed area and I learned more butterflies are on their way. We arrived the second day of opening. The weather was chilly and many of the butterflies were resting, so it was hard to see them. It doesn't matter, we were very happy to be in this special enclosed space. The staff here answered our questions and we told them they were fortunate to volunteer there. Parking: plenty of free parking on site. Do arrive early. The temperature was nice in the morning to walk around and parking was easy. As we were leaving, it was getting more crowded. We saw a place that sold food, but we passed on this and drove to a restaurant to have lunch.
