Relative to Boston, I think this is the best Thai place you will get in the city. Extremely reasonable prices, great service, and extremely tasty food. I have been here twice and have been impressed both times with the noodle and curry dishes I have ordered. In the restaurant they even have a lunch special which is of great value and really adds to the ambiance of the entire place. I would highly recommend Rice Away Thai Express to locals and tourists alike.

One of my favorite AYCE places! I've been here twice and had a great experience both times. The service is great and they're always smiling and so nice! For $18/$22, you can get a great variety of food, ranging from rangoons, spring rolls, papaya salad, Tom yum soup and more. The options are all delicious and they do not hold back on the protein portion sizes! PS if the son in law eggs are available, definitely try them. And if you want a laugh, look up why they're called son in law eggs

My #6th visit ! Simply I was blown away with this beautiful TooGoodToGo Surprise Bag ! Server made one of the very best food package. Most variety and each was full of flavors, beef with vegetables was at top of authentic joy. And TomKah soup was just out of the amazing world. I also found Pad Thai, eggs, with 3 fried spring rolls in the package. A little feast for beautiful night in Allston, Brighton, MA area !

So many different foods to try!

LOVE that they now have lunch buffet for only $18! I don't think I've actually ever seen a Thai buffet before, so this was groundbreaking. Now, I love Thai food, but one of the downsides for me is that I know the two or three dishes that I like and I always order only those dishes. There end up being dozens of dishes on the menu that I never actually try, but with the lunch buffet at Rice Away Thai, I was able to try all sorts of different foods, and they were all delicious! Some highlights: Crab rangoons - Of course these are a staple, and this place does them really well. Doesn't even need sauce! Really nice and crispy with just the right proportion of cream cheese and wonton skin. Penang pork - OH MY. This is one of those dishes I've never had before but the tender pork soaked in this lovely coconut milk curry sauce was to die for. My second plate was basically mostly this. Chicken wing - Nice and flavorful - pretty standard, but I'd get this again for sure. Braise pork belly - This was so tender and soft. It's the item in the middle of the plate photo and it had a great balance of meat and fat and was basically falling apart in my mouth. Fried fish - Crispy and coated in a sweet chili sauce - delicious! Even though it was sitting in a buffet and covered in sauce, it still kept a nice crunch! The rest of the food was also amazing - the shrimp curry had nice flavor, the eggs with crispy shallots were soaked in a sweet soy sauce that was wonderful, and the ground chicken and chicken thigh were both extremely flavorful but also quite spicy! There was pork, beef, chicken, shrimp, and fish, and I loved all of the different options. One thing I will say is that because there are so many sauces, I probably ate more rice than I wanted to, but they have both white rice and fried rice available. I got pretty full off of two full plates, but I'd love to come back and try for three plates next time! I love love LOVE that there is a Thai all you can eat restaurant where I can try all sorts of different dishes - and for a pretty reasonable price too!

This restaurant is very small. My husband and I went for their buffet lunch. I was surprised to see so many selections. The food that we enjoyed the most were the spring rolls and the chicken wings. I have only had Thai food once before many years ago I didn't like it. I can say that I enjoyed the food very much. This restaurant will definitely stay on my list.

For the price of one average takeout entree in Boston at any Thai establishment, you get to try 16+ dishes at same or better quality! The line starts with fried rice, rice, papaya salad, steamed veggies, ground meat, glass noodle starters. Then there are 16 mains including 4 different types of soups (including tom yum and curry), crispy pork belly, crispy cat fish, two beef dishes, two chicken dishes, pad Thai, walnut shrimp, egg rolls and crab rangoons (with pineapple sauce!), chicken wings, veggie medley, shrimp/squid dish. The dishes have an emphasis on pork belly (which I don't mind) as it's sprinkled throughout a lot of the dishes. Dessert was watermelon and a delightful herbal jelly. Everything was actually delicious and I was so uncomfortably stuffed after. The inside is bright and modern. Biggest qualm is that the space is small so the line and buffet flow was quite congested at peak dining times. Also the place is understaffed so plates were not restocked or cleared as quickly as demand, food was not refilled as quickly. Parking around can be tough to find. Either way this place is a steal and I'm looking forward to coming back!

We came here to try the dinner buffet, and it exceeded all expectations. In addition to their à la carte menu, they offer daily lunch ($18) and dinner ($22) buffets. We were amazed by the sheer variety--over 16 Thai dishes including chicken, pork, shrimp, fish, vegetarian options, soups, noodles, and curries. Not only was the selection impressive, but the quality was outstanding. Every dish was hot, fresh, and bursting with fragrance--nothing was oily or bland. Honestly, we would've been happy ordering any of these dishes individually, so sampling such a wide range for just $22 felt like an incredible deal. The staff was attentive, quickly clearing used plates, and the space--though small--was clean and bright. Drinks are around $5, and dessert options range from $7 to $10, though the buffet does include a sweet herbal black jelly. Free street parking was easy to find, and we're already planning our next visit!

I am a Thai food lover. I've had incredible meals and can too tell if a spot is bad immediately by the menu and first meal. Rice Away is an awesome find and I taste tested a ton to verify this. I had: Veggie Curry Puff (good) Taro Curry Puff (great, never had taro before!) Chicken sa-te (no skimping on meat, huge! Awesome taste) Scallion Pancake (good) Green Curry with Vermicelli (great) Pad Thai (I asked for country style and they brought the heat as I hoped. It was huge portion and fantastic) Will be back for more, didn't get to try in person!

Combo #3 (between the two= Pad Thai, Pork Penang Curry, Fried Pork Belly, Thai herbs fish, Stir Fried Squid with salted egg)

Please add a lunch buffet option here!! I recently got takeout, ordering their combo #3 since some friends highly recommended this restaurant and heard a lot about it! Within combo #3, it includes 3 entrees and 1 side for $16! The side options are white rice, fried rice, or pad thai. Considering that you can pick pad thai as your side, that's honestly a steal in itself! It seems as though they have a rotating menu for what entrees you can pick for your combo. My favorite thing here thus far is the Pork Penang Curry. It is a creamy coconut curry, that is not too spicy, and went perfectly with the side of rice I had. Good amount of pork included as well. Pad thai was fine, however the noodle this time was chopped up into shorter 3 inch strands which I was not as big of a fan with. Otherwise the flavor of the pad thai was decent. As for the fried pork belly, it was fairly crispy with a hint of garlic and was a good ratio of pork meat and fat. Thai herbs fish had a mix of green peppercorn, peppers, and onion. Do note that the fish is fried, and overall pretty good entree, but just the quantity of fish given to vegetable ratio was not great. My friend also mentioned that with entrees it is a hit or miss whether there is a decent quantity given. Inside there are a decent number of tables, and in the back left corner of the restaurant there is a counter for entrees as though it was set up for a buffet. Cannot comment on the service since we did not dine in, but we received our order on time. Speaking of this, it would be a great idea if they had a lunch buffet here given the perfect set up with their counter full of entrees! Overall, it's a pretty great family-run restaurant at a great price point, considering Boston doesn't have restaurants serving Thai food with multiple entree options given for a meal, which is what makes this place stand out! What I ordered: - Combo #3 (Pad thai, Pork Penang Curry, Fried pork belly, Thai herbs fish (fried)) - Combo #3 (Pad Thai, Pork Penang Curry, Stir-Fried Squid with Salted Egg, Thai Herbs Chicken (stir-fried)

Was excited to try out Rice Away and really enjoyed it. Came on a Monday for lunch right when they opened. We were the first ones there but more and more people slowly trickled in to eat or get takeout. Between the two of us we ordered the Tom Yum Noodle Soup and Gai Grob Pad Thai. I really enjoyed both dishes but the standout was definitely the noodle soup. It had really good flavors and was exactly what I was looking for. I do wish though that they had soup spoons because we were given just a regular spoon for the noodle soup. Regardless, I'll definitely add Rice Away to my rotation of local eats.

A small but mighty Thai spot! They also have enough seatings although it's small. You can either get from the menu or the combo entree meal rice plate from the pre made dishes. For the combo rice plate, you can choose up to 3 entrees. We opted for the $16 Combo plate with three options - panang curry, tom zab and braised pork belly. Everything tastes authentic and just at the right spice level. I am surprised by how much food is there. I also appreciated how all dishes come in separate bowls instead of all on the same plate. If I have to complain about one thing - probably because we came at night some dishes were out. It would be nice to see all the options. Nevertheless all very solid flavorful dishes! Great service and friendly staff as well. I will definitely be coming back to try other options. -8.9/10

I wish I lived closer! The food here is so tasty and they offer dishes I haven't seen at other Thai restaurants in Boston. I personally really enjoy the cafeteria style service, it gives me the freedom to choose what I want on my plate. We got the Combo with three sides for $16 and we were all very full after the meal. Since I went with a group, everyone ordered something different so we were able to try a lot of their sides. Our favorites were the son in law eggs, spareribs, fried pork, and the curry with morning glory in it. The combo comes with a large portion of rice which is the perfect vehicle for all of the flavors and sauces.

They have it set up buffet style where I pointed out what I wanted and a woman served me a portion on a plate. They started off with a bed of rice and then added cat fish. I had never had it before and now I know why. I could not eat it. Then I had beef curry in a separate bowl. It was good. I wish I had more. Lastly I had shrimp with vegetables. I would compare it to moo goo gai pan. It was mostly vegetables but I liked it. Overall I was filled. If I came here again, I think I would try some different selections. The total charge was 17.00 plus tip. The amount they charge is based on the number of items selected. It sat about 20 people at the various tables and benches. It was located right on Main Street near st Elizabeth's hospital. It was ok but if I were in the neighborhood I would try another restaurant.

Their curry is really good with rice

While food quality on its own is 'meh,' I can confidently say you get more than you pay for! When it comes to food quality, this is mediocre. The General Tso's chicken was great, though that is to be expected with an item heavy on salt, sugar, and fat; almost everything else is instantly forgettable. The sushi, for example, was on the low-tier of supermarket. At the same time, I do want to call out that there was nothing I tried so awful I spat it out. However, in a high volume, ultra-low cost spot, all non-catastrophic quality issues are immediately forgivable. Now, while Flaming Grill doesn't have everything under the sun, the variety is excellent! There are Asian, American, and Japanese dishes, as well as a salad and dessert bar, plus hibachi. While you will not find any oysters on the half-shell, I can confidently say there is something for everyone. Even with my voracious appetite and taking a small amount of what looked interesting to me, I was unable to try everything. When it comes to the service, considering the buffet nature, it was just fine. I absolutely want to award some credit as it was attentive enough that when I moved on to dessert, they knew to bring the check. As for outside my table, food items were kept refilled, as I saw nothing nearly empty. Everything was also kept clean, and no cleanliness issues were noticed. Final verdict: Unfortunately, my taste run a little more fancy than Flaming Grill & Buffet, but that is not an issue with the eatery, but a fact of my becoming bougie? I think? That said, when I find myself in MA, and waiting for the Rental Tesla to charge across the street before returning it, you can bet your serving spoon I will be coming back.

Even though we were there by 6pm and put names down for a table the wait was like 45 minutes! Clearly they are very popular and for good reason - it's an ayce buffet with hot pot! So to pass the time, we went next door to Petco and wandered around looking at the animals, fish in aquariums and birds/ parrots. We were seated in a corner table in the back and it was completely packed - it's quite a large space and looks recently renovated good lighting and modern decor. The buffet itself is huge quite extensive with all kinds of veggies, greens, starchy vegetables, tofu, fish cakes, imitation crab, noodles, and also a sauce bar with a very large variety of sauces. I filled my plate up and got a couple bowls of sauces. I got the kimchi broth while the hubs got the pork bone broth. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal! I ordered the chicken off the menu which was only $3 and the price of the buffet per person was $25 which is not bad at all for all the food there is. Oh and there is also a soft serve station with cones and vanilla and matcha flavors - hubs got a cone each! I tried the vanilla one it was great!! Best part there is free parking as it's a shopping complex. It was a bit tricky today as there a mountains of snow covering spaces, but we were able to find a spot! The price has gone up to $24/person before tax and tip since before the pandemic but it's still a solid spot. The only downside is the wait especially during the colder months. I am not sure if it's easier to go with 2 or larger group since there was no wait for our large group of 10 back in September during prime lunch hour. Then 30 minute wait at 2pm on a Sunday. I always go for adding an egg. I enjoy the kimchi broth and have tried a few of the other ones. They also have an extensive sauce bar so you can really customize it to your liking. Their house made combos are also super tasty. The perfect way to end flavorful hot pot is with their soft serve ice cream flavor. We enjoyed sitting outside on the patio where the steady cool breeze refreshed us. The small appetizer plate with falafel and hummus was my favorite part of the meal. The falafel were flat and oblong, crispy and flavorful. I appreciated the texture of the hummus and babaghanoush (hearty and chunky, rather than smooth). The lamb adana and chicken Adana were delicious as well, complemented with pickled purple cabbage, red and white rice, and roasted green chili pepper (caution--spicy even if you remove the seeds!). Generous portions! We shared three entrees among 4 of us, along with two small appetizers and had two take home containers!

Love love love this place…read more First night in Brookline and walking to Whole Foods for supplies, we saw two big families leaving here looking happy and sated and rubbing their tummies; so after our shopping we came for dinner right at dusk, and immediately sat outside. Our server Bahar was so kind and helpful: I have a dairy allergy and really wanted to try the Ali Nazik, but the lamb marinade has dairy, we we got the Sultan's Delight (same smoky eggplant puree with baked lamb). We also ordered Chicken Adana, and the small appetizer with falafel and hummous; all to share for 3 of us. Our fourth got the Iskender Kabob for himself. Bahar first brought a bean salad (so fresh and light) and bread (yum). Then the appetizer: the falafel was flat (not spherical) which meant the surface area of crunchiness increased--so delicious; and the hummous was much grainier than I've had, which gave it such a lovely texture. Bahar came out with the Sultan's Delight, and rushed back apologetic that the chef used dairy today, so we ordered a second appetizer with babaganoush and falafel (we really needed more falafel once we got a taste)--the babaganoush was, like the hummous, grainier in texture than we were used to and so pleasing to eat. If it weren't for my dairy allergy, we might never had ordered the chicken adana kebab, which was so flavorful and lovely: the orange rice was so nutty and made my mouth happy. We realized that we wanted to try the Lamb Adana Kebab, which had such a phenomenal flavor palate with a nice spicy kick. The peppers that came with the entrees were like sneaky super hot shishito peppers in flavor. Bahar took such lovely care of us, we had an amazing meal.

The problems started before I even arrived. I was traveling from Logan Airport and followed Encore's own website instructions for the shuttle. Those instructions were wrong. Because the hotel had not updated its posted pickup location, I spent roughly an hour walking around downtown Boston in the rain trying to find the shuttle. I called twice for help and spoke with two different representatives, both of whom were deeply uninterested and unable or unwilling to provide useful assistance. When I finally found the correct shuttle area, I waited even longer in the rain, only for the driver to tell me and two other passengers that we needed to get on a different shuttle that was already pulling away from the curb. We literally had to chase it down to catch it. Because of this, I missed a work meeting. Unfortunately, arriving at the hotel did not improve the experience. After standing in an excessively long check-in line, I finally got to the front desk, where the staff confidently insisted that I needed to pay the full room amount, even though my company had already paid for the reservation. At that point I was exhausted, wet, and late, so I paid it just to get into the room. Now my office manager is having to argue with the hotel because staff are apparently claiming I never had a reservation at all -- which is especially strange given that I am currently sitting in the room, and we have an emailed receipt showing that the room was already paid for. Even worse, the staff member speaking with my office manager has reportedly been snarky, condescending, and dismissive while she tries to resolve a problem created by the hotel's own systems. Rather than helping investigate the discrepancy, he appears to be treating her as though she is confused or incompetent. That is unacceptable customer service under any circumstances, but it is especially galling when she is the one trying to clean up Encore's billing and reservation mistake. This was not one minor inconvenience. It was a cascade of failures: incorrect transportation instructions, unhelpful phone support, chaotic shuttle coordination, a missed business meeting, a miserable check-in process, an apparent duplicate charge, and now a billing/reservation dispute being handled with condescension instead of professionalism. For a hotel that markets itself as a luxury resort, this was genuinely embarrassing. Nothing about this experience felt organized, hospitable, or guest-focused. It felt like a high-end property with low-end operations and staff who could not be bothered to solve problems they helped create. Encore Boston Harbor may be a great place to stay if you enjoy being wet, late, overcharged, dismissed, and treated like an inconvenience. I will not stay here again, and I would strongly caution business travelers against relying on this hotel for anything that requires competent logistics, accurate billing, or basic customer service. Beautiful building. Broken operation. Absolutely not worth the aggravation.

There are options for AYCE as well as by weight, and if you do by weight you have to weigh everything you get at the side buffet and only get meat from the counter, so we opted for AYCE because that seemed cumbersome. The service here was friendly and attentive and as long as your token is green, the meat literally comes nonstop! I really liked their sides and salads, especially the plantains and fresh fruits. The meats were perfectly done and though they didn't really ask, all my pieces were medium/medium rare which is how I like it. The cut that was infused with garlic was really good, as were the sirloin and the chicken hearts and spicy pork sausages. Some pieces were very salty, but I'm pretty sensitive to salt. The grilled pineapple was luscious. If we didn't already have cake waiting for us at home, I would have definitely indulged in some tres leches or lime cake. They ended the meal with cooked cheese dipped in honey or guava sauce which was interesting. The fresh fruit at the salad bar was really refreshing. I probably wouldn't come back because it's just way too much meat/food for me and not my usual favorite (also rather pricey for dinner/weekends). However, my family had a great meal here and I think it's definitely a step up from fogo de chao in terms of quality and service. If you're into Brazilian steakhouses (or steak in general) I would highly recommend this place.

The picanha and the lamb were my favorite but all the cuts of meat were good. The selection from the buffet was nice. It had more options than I expected and they even brought more delicious unique breads to the table (probably to fill you up faster). Only a few seafood options but all very tasty and refreshing. I was so full by the end I didn't even have room for the pineapple or to finish the grilled cheese, let alone even consider a dessert. They also served chicken hearts at my request. The decor and setting was much more fine dining style than I expected from the outside.
