This venue is so beautiful and intimate, our guests were complimenting the staff and venue the entire night, our coordinator was Miriam and she was incredible help. We appreciated all of her help that night and she made sure we had everything we needed. The bar tender was excellent and super friendly and danced and laughed along with all of my guests they enjoyed her so much. As has happened to me numerous times before, I came here on a Wednesday night for a dance class at 7:00 p.m. This time, I came more than fifteen minutes early to ensure a parking space. I drove through three times, and a parking space didn't open up. So, people start parallel parking along the wall in the back alley. It amazes me that people are unfazed by this. That's where I draw the line. Parking lots of adjacent businesses all have signs restricting parking to their customers only. I'll go elsewhere for a place with guaranteed, normal parking. read more

On May 11th I reached out for a tour and have been in contact with them with great communication. I rescheduled a few times. Finally I had an appt for Thursday May 29th @630 pm. They reached out @ 430 to make sure I was coming and they were excited.I got there and went to the door and it was locked so I waited 10 mins then I called to see if anyone was coming and no answer. Then I get a text saying " I seen that I missed a call from this number and how may I help you? " I texted " I'm here for my 630 appt. No reply. Then I texted " should I reschedule? No reply. By that time, I had been there 25mins. I texted Thanks anyways. I was very disappointed that I wasted my time. Not sure what the reason was but I still haven't heard anything. Shots out to Rhythms Dance Studio & Event Center! I reached out to one of the owners Nate and explained what we were trying to do and what our budget was and he truly BLESSED us! I did the walk through with the other owner Virginia, and she was just as nice and hospitable as Nate was. The venue is absolutely beautiful!! I mean top of the line lighting, sound, and all the extra's!!! From my first phone call to Nate through completion of the event everyone was very professional and polite. Gabriella was very accommodating through the whole process!! I can say this, if your event fails for any reason, it won't be on them!! They are VERY DETAILED (which I love). From layout to seating to every detail of your event is planned and just right!! The day of the event, the event coordinator, Marium was also very accommodating and helpful!! For events, note that parking is the worst of the worst. Security is extremely rude and unhappy with their jobs. The area is not the best. You can find vagrants all around the building. If you use the patio area you can even witness them doing dr*gs. Kids dance classes have some favoritism with the kids that have been there the longest and those kids seem entitled to it. read more

If I can add more stars, I would. Let me start from the beginning on why it's 5 starts. So get ready to read. My sister celebrated her big 45 last weekend. This has been planned from over 3 months. She was in communication with the event coordinator on and off for the first 2 months. After I got included in the conversation as I was the one who was going to handle everything the day of the event. They asked for every detail you can think, from timeline to what was going to be brought in and by whom. At first, I did ask myself if they really needed all the info. The week of the even we had a conference call with the coordinator, the manager (Miriam) my sister and I. This is where all my information came in to place lol. They went over everything that was going to happen. Asked if there were certain alcohol we would like cold, or if our guest were big beer drinkers. Went over what of beer and alcohol they would have. All of our questions were answered to the fullest. The day of the event. My sister had booked it from 7-1am, with an hour prior for decorations. I got there at 6 they open the doors for me and I started to do my thing. My family was supposed to had gotten there at the same time, but for some reason no one showed up. Miriam and the rest of the crew were all hands on and help me w everything. (I think they saw my face of frustrations lol). They were amazing. I even think the security guard help me with the centerpieces, lol. I knew this party was at the right place with the right people. From there on, it was nothing but a big family celebration. Bartenders were amazing (sorry loves cannot remember your name). Security guards also wow. Miriam... Miriam...Miriam. This wouldn't have been as smooth without you. It was incredible. Now don't be like Yea right, not everything can't be perfect. And you are correct. They do not have heaters outside in the patio. But it was the first day that was cold, and we weren't expecting it either. Yeah, I didn't see the weather prior, smh. So if you want to use their patio in winter double check if they have heaters. Would I book another event here??? Heck yes. Thank you so much, you guys were amazing and would recommend you guys in a heart beat. I planned a 30th birthday party at this venue and was super stoked to have this as the venue includes the tables/chairs/linen/photobooth, etc. it took off a lot of stress off of my shoulders knowing majority of what you would need for a party was already included. I paid for an even from 8pm-12am, and I paid for open bar from 8:30pm-9:30pm. There were 60 or less people during that hour and there was 1 bartender the entire event. I feel people spent more time standing in line waiting for a drink than being able to actually take advantage of the open bar because there was only 1 bartender. Of course I didn't notice, otherwise I would have brought this up to the manager on site but many guests brought it to my attention later on when there was nothing I could do. We are all part of the same industry, so it irked a lot of the guests knowing I spent quite a chunk of change for this event. The bar was ran close to empty within the first hour and a half, the guests had let me know that the beers were not cold and that there was no fruit until way later in the night. Another guest had brought it to my attention the next day that during open bar 8:30-9:30, she had gone up and asked for 3 vodka redbulls and although Red Bulls are not included in the package - she stated that the bartender didn't even tell her that and just made the drinks and charged them that without letting them know that redbulls were not included - they were charged $45+ dollars; if they were notified by the bartender that the redbulls weren't included, they wouldn't have gotten it until after they utilized the open bar and bought drinks later. The manager on site was nice to me, but many guests had later brought it to my attention that she looked miserable and not approachable. At the end of the night as lights were coming on, everyone tried to take one more Photo Booth picture and as we were standing in front of the mirror, she walked in front and shut it off without saying anything - she could have just told us we couldn't take one more picture or simply let us take the last picture, which would have been totally fine. The venue itself is beautiful, great space and atmosphere but I don't think I could spend that kind of money again - especially for the open bar when the bar isn't stocked appropriately for my guest count and there was only 1 bartender to accommodate leaving many guests waiting in line for more time. read more

Rented space to hold a dance class and was beyond satisfied with not only the space, but the entire process! From the way the booking was handled to the spotless studio and friendly staff that welcomed me with a smile. The natural light from the windows in the large room we rented really help set the right energy for the class. The class was excellent and closing up was a breeze as well! (The bathrooms... don't even get me started on how CLEAN the bathrooms were) I look forward to the next rental at the wonderful Rhythms Dance Studio! read more

The rooms are very spacious and the view to workout is great. There is no bad view. I was a guest so I didn't have to pay but I did see a lot of people having issues with logging in. They say it's best to pay cash when going in so you don't delay yourself joining your class. Some people paid in advance yet the login wasn't easy since they all asked for help. I somehow feel that trying to automate signing in is taking away the personal experience of customer service. I know some days or just before a class it can get super busy but there's nothing that can be better than personal customer service. They do special events and really have beautiful setups for their customers. As always I have to comment on the bathrooms... this place is clean and they really seem to pride themselves in keeping making sure people know when changes are made (i.e. they were painting the walls and kept moving the signs so that people saw and put more than plenty of signs in the rooms so people didn't ruin their clothes or purses). read more

Nate and Virginia are the Owners of the Rhythms Dance Studio. Highly recommended. It is located on Sahara about two blocks east of Decatur on the right side if you are traveling east. I am currently taking Salsa for beginners and Salsa beginner-intermediate group lessons with Nate and his Assistant Marlene. They also have other dance classes available - Bachata, Hip-Hop, Ballet and more. Classes are for all ages and gender. Nate and Marlene are excellent dancers and Nate makes the class fun and enjoyable. Prices are surprisingly affordable, compared to other dance studios that I have researched. Ashley is at the front desk. She is very helpful in answering any questions, going over all the classes available and scheduling. I am also taking Private Dance lessons with Virginia. Highly Recommended. Virginia is an Outstanding Dancer and Instructor. She is friendly, soft spoken, extremely knowledgeable, highly professional and has the patience of a Saint. She will go over each step with you as many times needed before moving on to the next step. Taking private lessons with Virginia will be a tremendous help in accelerating your learning curve to the max. Also, surprisingly affordable, compared to other studios I have researched. 06/26/2021 I've talked to the front desk lady name I cannot say due to flagging my review through email on June 17th, 2021, and I'm very disappointed in this establishment. I used a Groupon code on June 5th, 2021, and it was good for a month. The girl at the front desk, which wasn't the lady I spoke with, had redeemed the code on my phone after showing her, and she showed me how to sign my daughter into the system. On June 17th, my husband takes our daughter to dance class, and she told him he had to pay $15; and he explained we used a Groupon code, and she said that was for new students only, which I was told you could use for new and current students. Then she stated she couldn't find the Groupon code, and then she also said to him that the Groupon code was only good for two classes which was a lie. So I emailed her and also called yesterday June 25th and spoke to another girl. Then she explained about the Groupon code, and now they are giving me a run-around, and I'm at a loss of $50. She stated in the email she was trying to talk to Groupon, which was another lie because I spoke to Groupon on June 23rd, and they said they haven't talked to anyone at the establishment, and I've sent emails, and she's ignoring me. So I pulled my daughter out of there and finding somewhere else because this is how they treat people. And another thing that upset us, on the same day (June 5th, 2021), I purchased two recital tickets so my husband and I can see our dance; they also messed that up where people were sitting in our assigned seats, and my husband was trying to explain to the people those were our seats, the lady pretty much started getting loud, and my husband just went back to the staff and explained and they stated they overbooked. We had to sit way in the back in this small corner where we couldn't see anything. It was very disappointing, and the staff doesn't care either. I'm just letting others beware of this place because they are money hungry and don't care about anything else. Thanks for showing your true colors. Had to repost due to saying the employee's name. Virginia is an outstanding dancer! Love working with Nate and Edgar as well. I take salsa and bachata classes at this wonderful studio. I spoke with the administrative assistant who initially welcomed me and my daughter to join their beginning ballet class. I was very specific on her age and non- experience. I dressed my daughter from head to toe in full ballet gear, arrived 15 minutes early, got her super excited for her first dance class ever to find out that I was given the wrong date and time... She was devastated. Another parent said they did that to him too except his daughter was allowed to join the later class. Her tears made me go into mama bear mode. She cried and didn't want to even try again. We switched to a different studio and never returned to Rhythms. read more

Probably one of the worst venues I've been to for an event. We were celebrating a 30th birthday party for my best friend. The event planner/host looked miserable the entire time she was there. Although, she was keeping the venue clean by picking up plates and cups from tables, she was not very welcoming nor was she very helpful with the music or lights. The bartender was absolutely terrible. She was not familiar with a lemon drop shot, upon request, we had to tell her the ingredients needed. The bar was also constantly running out of things. Beers not cold, so we missed open bar waiting for them to get cold, ran out of limes, ran out of redbulls, and did not have simple syrup. Bar was diminished an hour into our event, in which they had a head count for, so uncertain as to why it was not stocked accordingly. The event planner/host did not advise that we were able to change the background of our Photo Booth and abruptly took it down, as we were taking the last photo of the night, with no comment or recognition that we were trying to take one more photo before the night ended, she just walked in front of us and started taking it down. The guest service we experienced was well below average. I would never book this venue for any event ever again. read more

Review of the Event Center: I booked Rhythms this past June 2019 for my 30th birthday party. PROS: 1) The event space for Rhythms is beautiful! It is a large, recently built space that is very versatile, including a large stage, DJ booth, and a bar. The furniture is well suited for the space, and the TVs and lighting allow for customization of the space to fit the theme of your event. 2) Flexibility with vendors: Rhythms allows you to bring in your own vendors (with approval) for anything (e.g. food, music, and photography) except alcohol. This is a great feature that is not shared by many other venues. 3) I believe we were mistakenly shorted on open bar time purchased for my event by approximately 30 minutes. When I brought this issue to the attention of the event manager and eventually one of the owners, the owner I spoke to (via email) was, in my opinion, quite unprofessional in his correspondence. He eventually did address my concerns by speaking to me by phone, apologizing for the team's approach and how things were handled, as well as reviewing transactions with me. I was also refunded some of the prorated amount for the 30 minutes of lost open bar time. It seemed that the team was genuine in acknowledging mistakes made, and have learned from the experience. CONS: 1) The event managers that I worked with, while nice, lacked the organization, initiative, attention to detail, and communication skills that I feel are needed to really take the stress out of planning an event for the host. 2) Both the former and current event manager were not prompt in their email correspondence, often taking a week or more to respond to emails. I had to send reminder emails in several instances to get responses. 3) Almost none of the policies are outlined in writing in the contract/invoice, so much of what is discussed is done so verbally. Not a problem as long as everything runs smoothly, but if you come across an issue it becomes challenge quickly. 4) If you book here and are considering an open bar package, I highly recommend discussing an objective method to track the open bar start and end times with the team. BELOW ARE SPECIFIC EXAMPLES HIGHLIGHTING MY NEGATIVE EXPERIENCES: - I first worked with Jazmin, the event manager at that time, in the initial stages of planning my event. We met in person to discuss details the event and then had several months until the two-week mark before my event. During this time there was no initiative on her part to touch base, as I never heard from her. Eventually, it was almost two weeks out from my event, and I knew the final invoice was due as well as communication regarding any last minute details would need to be solidified. I initiated contact with Jazmin, and imagine my surprise when she told me that she no longer worked at Rhythms! She then connected me to the new event manager, Autum. Thus, Rhythms made no effort to notify me that Jazmin left until I initiated contact, nor did I hear from the new event manager until my email. Furthermore, it was clear that the majority of the details I discussed with Jazmin were not conveyed to the new event manager. - My event included an open bar (beer, wine, well drinks) that was supposed to run from 7:30 pm to 10:30 pm, with premium drinks available for purchase the entire time. My plan was to allow my guests to enjoy drinks during that initial 30 minutes until my arrival around 8:15 pm. Due to the late arrival of many of my guests, unbeknownst to me the event manager pushed the open bar start time back to 8:00 pm. Cool, no problem. However, the open bar still ended at 10:30 pm. As the birthday girl, I was focused on entertaining my guests, dancing, and enjoying the party. In addition, my guests got my drinks for me, so I only went to the bar personally once that night. I discovered the time discrepancies after the event when discussing it with my guests: one guest attempted to get a drink just before 8:00 pm and was told that open bar was not yet open. Thus, they purchased a drink instead. Several guests indicated that they attempted to get a drink that was included within the open bar (as it was the same drink they ordered earlier in the night) between 10:30 pm and 11:00 pm, and that they were told there would be a charge as the open bar ended. As a result, some of them ordered a premium drink instead. In attempting to address this concern with the staff following the event, I was told conflicting starting and ending times for the open bar. When I requested that the transactions were reviewed and discussed with me, I was told that all the transactions were for premium drinks yet no specifics were provided or reviewed (such times of transactions, types of drinks ordered within transactions, etc.). Eventually I did receive this information from the owner, however unfortunately open bar drinks were not tracked in their system, so there was no way to confirm start and end times for the open bar. read more

Best of best instructors in this studio! Whether you're looking for salsa, bachata, rumba, hiphop, jazz, or breakdancing classes this is the place to be! From a person who had NO dancing experience what so ever I can proudly say that I have learned so much from this studio alone. I have been coming to this studio since May of last year. I first started with their beginner bachata classes which is taught by Edgar & Jenny. They teach basic/dominican foot work, techinique, and awesome tips to improve your social dancing skills. Till this day I am now taking a mix of their beginner and intermediate bachata classes.. You can never stop learning ;) thanks to them I can officially call myself a bachatera! Aside from the awesome bachata classes there are also salsa classes taught by Nate & Virginia! If you're looking for some laughs while learning your foot work and technique in class then this is definitely worth your while! :) All the instructors are here to help you and prepare you for the real world of social dancing.. Literally the BEST place to learn how to dance for a little ol' beginner like me. I started taking Beginner Bachata classes from Edgar & Jenny earlier this year. Both great instructors with a lot of patience and understanding for us people born without rhythm. And everyone is there for the same thing: to learn! Good teacher, fun class and bomb music!

Ufff, where to begin. I guess I'm a tough critic, as I've been a competition dancer/in dance since I was maybe 5 in the NYC area, but honestly, the salsa class we took here was a joke. If you want to just get some exercise, go for it, but if you genuinely want to learn salsa, maybe not. The teachers yell out "great job!" while 2/3 of the students were using the wrong feet, spinning the wrong way, just shameful. I understand not wanting to discourage beginner students or overwhelm them with technique, but c'mon. 5 year olds have more structured classes, with more comstructive corrections. I also did not enjoy getting felt up by other grody old male students when we would change partners, which made me *really* uncomfortable. I get that you want your students to socialize & dance with different partners, but if you are pretty, be prepared for the meat market. Ewwww... read more

This past Saturday I attended the Latin Night. Ended up having a wonderful time even though I was nervous to show up by myself. The place and staff are fantastic. There place is centrally located and not in the strip. There is plenty of parking and you don't have to pay for it! There is a full bar with a craft cocktails menu and fantastic ladies taking care of everyone's hydration needs as well as seating for reservations. Ladies are free before 10:30 otherwise its just $10 bucks to get in. Free dance lessons to start the night off. Large patio with seating and food served which was delicious!
