I am so happy I came! I did the beginner hip-hop class. The community here is amazing. I'm definitely going to be a regular!

The Millennium Dance Complex in Las Vegas is by far one of the best dance studios in town. The building is centrally located and is kept pristine. Instructors are very knowledgeable with a superb approach to instruction and cadence.

We are now heading…read moreinto our 4th season in a few more month and 3 recitals later we couldn't be more happy with this studio. The atmosphere is so positive and inclusive. This studio takes pride in their students' dance education and well being. Recently we had a mom who would come into the studio throw shoes at her child insult her, use profanity and behaved absolutely DISGUSTING towards her child. It got to the point where my child and others were SCARED of this other mom. The studio was BEYOND accommodating to the point I got irritated, but they wanted to help her daughter grow and develop with her love for dance. After many chances and adjusted protocols for this mom, in efforts to keep her daughter at the studio, because her daughter was a sweet little girl. The mom was RELENTLESS and her ABUSE continued!!!!! Everything came to a blow on March 23rd when a group of moms including myself witnessed this mom smacking her kid around in her car of the studio parking lot. After a year of this mom's psychosis she was FINALLY DISMISSED from the studio a few days before our annual recital, because some moms reported her behavior to the police, we were THAT concerned and STILL IS for her child! She has called multiple teachers and made numerous threats and is on a rampage because she was dismissed. She even showed up for classes after making threats. Does that sound like someone sane? This is AN amazing studio with AMAZING teacher with the best atmosphere. We are seriously a little dance family and we love it here. I'm so glad I found this website, because this business needs an honest review:…read more First the good -- it is family owned and their kids are part of the dance classes, so there is a certain safety and quaintness about it. You won't get lost like in some of the bigger studios. The wife is also a beyond amazing choreographer so their recitals are so beautiful to watch and super organized. I absolutely love how the show turns out. Unfortunately it's not all about the end result with business that deal with kids, the "how" is just as important as the final product. Now the room for improvement -- 1) CLEAN UP YOUR BATHROOMS. This is a cheap service. I hire someone at my offices to come twice a week just for bathrooms. You can afford it, and it needs it. It's no wonder everyone here gets sick at the same time; kids are using the bathroom barefoot, and then walking back in to the studios and touching the floors with their hands and bodies dragging up whatever is in those nasty bathrooms. I have forbidden my kid from using them, it is so gross (picture of a corner in their bathrooms; if they told me it never has been deep cleaned since they opened I would believe it. Yuck!) 2). Part of the job of the reception is customer service. I understand she is family, but being good at answering emails or tracking payments is not enough. If you are the face of the business for parents you have to be nice too. I was so embarrassed when I told one of the other parents at my kid's school where they took dance, and right away they told me they pulled their kid out after less than a month for how rude the front desk lady was and she yelled over at their mother in law to tell her where we went, and she right away went on and on about the front desk (the entire family was horrified by the treatment), and I thought yea we all know that, but why do we put up with it?? Fear of retaliation for our kid I guess? because every parent knows and talks about it, but no one will speak up about how absolutely horrible this woman treats everyone (including the kids!). At first I gave her grace, thinking it's probably just cultural -- American's are notoriously over-friendly; but after hearing from everyone, including people who didn't go back after their first year (or one who didn't return after the trial) just because of the front desk attitude. There needs to be a heart to heart in that family. Let her do what she's great at, but your business will never truly thrive without some positivity out front. Parents are nice to her out of politeness or fear but trust me, fear is no way to build loyalty. If it's a cultural thing, remember your business is in the U.S., so adapting is necessary. It's not ok to treat people and kids that way, whether it's email responses or in person responses: be nice. I recognize the parents of a few 5 star reviews, and I can tell you they are bull and only written to suck up because the front desk is horrible, and they know it. You would be better off with a sign that says "just email since we're in class!" and not have anyone there at all. 3) They treat parents like poop. I get they would rather not deal with parents and only work with the kids, but we're a package. As much as you hate the parent side of the business (it's obvious), at the end we are part of it, and we pay for it... have some respect. This past year they pulled the seats out from the parent area where the baby classes were held. I felt so bad for those parents having to stand, because you can't just leave the babies there. Then they closed the curtains during recital season so you can't watch. I get you want it to be a surprise, but anyway we recorded the hip hop dance so they could practice so it's not truly the "surprise" bit - you all want us out. It would be your dream to have all kids dropped off for class and not to deal with any parents (I know for sure it would be the front desk lady's dream), but too bad we're part of the deal and we like to watch our kids -- don't be so cruel about it. Also, remember they are kids and don't remember half of what you tell them, so normalize emailing parents with important info. Don't be so harsh to the parents, that's another sure fire way to limit growth. No one wants to refer their friends if they are going to be treated that way. It might be too late for us because our kids like it, but we don't have to tell others. 4) Be a role model for these kids! My kid came home saying that Mr. Travis said cheerleaders were dum-dums and my mother in law almost had a heart attack. She wanted me to cancel right away. In our house we don't put other sports/people down. Thank goodness I didn't mention what my kid had previously said Ms. Kelly told them about gymnasts. There is no reason to put other disciplines down. You can think dance is the best without knocking down others. The kids learn to be mean this way. This place has soo much potential! Please take the feedback seriously. I would like you to succeed.

We weren't comfortable going in the studio just yet, but we still wanted her to get that training in. Luckily I found CSLV and was instantly drawn to them because: 1. They offered zoom classes, no pressure to go in studio 2. Their fees were so affordable - SO AFFORDABLE The hiphop class that she took via zoom was perfect. She enjoyed it so much! I loved how the instructor always checked in with those on zoom vs just focusing on those in class. Once we were ready to go back in studio, we were welcomed with open arms. I can see that baby girl has improved tremendously in her dancing skills. She is more aware of her counts which is a huge. She's been dancing Ori Tahiti since she was 3 and she usually rushes thru the choreo. But now she takes her time and is a lot more aware of her counts and moves. Huge thank you to her instructors at CSLV for helping her with that and just helping her be a better well rounded dancer. In the short amount of time we've been with them, baby girl has already done a video shoot, they're working on their next video shoot now, and hopefully will be performing live the end of the year (assuming things start opening up). That is a lot more than what she did at her previous dance studio and she was dancing there for almost the same amount of time. So if you are looking for a studio to get your kids to dance with, I highly recommend Culture Shock. The instructors are great and always willing to accommodate, if they can make it work. They're a non profit organization, so they're not out here trying to get all your money. They are definitely working for the kids and I love that. I mean, I live all the way in the northwest part of town and we drive down to them weekly. Love that we're part of the CS family!

I've always used what I've learned from their classes to two-step at Stoney's and Gilley's here in Las Vegas. However, at least half the time I've ever asked a girl to two-step, they don't know how, and I have to teach them on the spot. So, I've always wondered why these folks don't come to the two-step classes held every Tuesday at Rhythmic Souls. There was always this discrepancy wherein most of the people two-stepping at Stoney's and Gilley's were not in the Tuesday two-step classes. Fast-forward to today, and it's no wonder that two-step has been almost entirely abandoned at Stoney's Rockin' Country, and completely abandoned at Stoney's North Forty. I never understood why Stoney's and Gilley's never referred people to Rhythmic Souls to learn two-step. Now, all you can hope is that the current craze for country swing will run its course, so that two-step can return as the next big thing. When two-stepping at Stoney's or Gilley's, it's easy to teach a girl on the spot upon asking her to dance. This is why it's such a great social dance. It just requires the lead to know how to two-step, to guide the follower, whether she already knows how to two-step or not. I don't think this is the case with country swing. For the beginner, I think country swing is more dependent on lessons than two-step is--contrary to popular opinion. If it was up to me, Stoney's and Gilley's would have a list of local places to take two-step and country swing dance lessons. They should have been doing this from day one, then maybe we wouldn't see the near extinction of two-step at Stoney's and Gilley's today, in which country swing has filled the void. It seems like it would be mutually beneficial for the local honky-tonks to provide a list of local businesses that specialize exclusively in country dance instruction. Likewise, for the local country dance instructors to provide a list of the local honky-tonks where students can take what they learn in class and use it in the wild. Since this has yet to happen, Gen Z country swing now rules the local honky-tonks.

If you're thinking of taking up dance, I don't think you'll find a better studio in all of Vegas. Long Review: Where to start?? First off, I love love love Rhythmic Souls. From the first time I walked in, I felt such good vibes. Donnie and Regina are so nice and all the regulars at the studio are great about welcoming new people. I was insanely nervous and any negativity would have sent me running, but everyone was so incredibly nice that I kept coming back and now I'm a W/F West Coast regular. :) While I focus on West Coast they have a ton of other dances you can learn. I feel like the prices are very reasonable and the more you go, the better the deals are which is perfect for when you inevitably fall in love with the dance and decide to practically live there ;) Along with lessons, there are weekly trips to Stoney's, dance camps, insanely fun trips to dance events, potlucks, birthday celebrations, theme nights, etc. etc. To me, it feels more like a family than a dance studio and I am so glad I decided to take those first lessons. All I can say is if you're looking for a great, fun, positive environment to learn to dance, you can't go wrong with Rhythmic Souls, and if you're there on a West Coast night, come say Hi :)
