I've been taking classes at this studio for a couple of months now and I have to say that this studio has some of the most amazing instructors. What I love is that they have a lot of series group classes so you can learn a lot of classes in a very organized, sequential manner even from their group classes. They have a few group classes a week where the "master" instructors teach and you can really whip your technique in shape with them. Unlike some other studios, you're not going to learn the same thing twice and you will be challenged. And there are also private lessons available of course if you're really wanting to get into it. They have a lot of events set up other than their weekly social (and monthly salsa social) and it can be a lot of fun. Unlike other studios most instructors are very good at going around and asking everyone to dance, even if you're a newb. Wouldn't say it's the cheapest studio around but definitely worth the money. VZ Dance Studios is probably the best dance studio in Vegas. The staff are extremely warm and friendly. They are all wonderful and great teachers that can have you dancing in 10 minutes a multitude of dances from quick Latin Dances like Samba to slower ones like Waltz. Furthermore, they always are welcoming and make you feel comfortable like you are home. The studio itself is gorgeous and it can be rented out for some amazing parties and banquets (I have been to some of these myself). Dancing wise, all the teachers are competitive professionals that honestly can move! Whether for pleasure or competition, the instructors are excellent and some of the best. The classes are always fun (whether private or group) and there are classes for advanced students, beginners, and children! There is something for everyone and if learning how to dance isn't your thing. Their weekly Friday parties for those who just want to groove are lively and full of fun! read more

I just held my mom's 52nd surprise party at this place (2/5/11) and I cannot say enough how great the whole experience was. I checked out 6 ballroom/ dancing venues around town because I wanted a "ballroom party" for her birthday and VZ Academy was the most classy, the most posh, and the most "together" place I checked out--- not to mention reasonably priced. The place has dark wood floors and mood lighting, a disco ball, great sound system, defnitely fully equipped for a party atmosphere. From the moment I walked in to speak with someone (I got Varton? the owner, I think is how his name was pronounced), through to the moment the party ended and I was walking out, they have been courteous, professional, and on top of all the details. I had very specific preferences, which included set up time, music, a "DJ" taking care of our music selections throughout the night, and two ballroom teachers doing a "refresher" class in salsa for the whole 50 years old-and-up group, and time with the teachers dance-hosting for some time afterwards... he broke it down for me and also was open to my counter request after I had canvassed other places. I even had to make a change with the table layout midweek before the party and they were right on top of it. They include tables and chairs so you don't need to provide them. I hosted about 25 people but the place could have comfortably held twice that, I think. I got compliments all night from my very picky aunts and uncles about the venue and just how classy and how great it was- not to mention the great dancing instructors and music. The general manager, Sergei, who was there to lay out chairs and take care of the music, even made changes to the music halfway through the night with no complaint when my mom decided she wanted Boogie and Shuffle as opposed to Salsa, which I told them was the theme of the night, danced with people, and just helped "plan" the surprise for when she walked in. Very pleasant to work with. All in all- I highly recommend this place as a very reasonably priced-yet-still-classy-and-beautiful party hall, ballroom venue, or dancing party venue... definitely much cooler and much more creative than any "standard" community rec center or reception hall choice I've seen in the valley, at least for the price they gave me! I'll start off by saying this studio has excellent instructors. I take my toddler to ballet here. I've tried other ballet studios , and this one by far is the best one my little one has attended. I am however bothered by the fact that I do not get notified when classes are cancelled or moved until I actually get to the studio. At this point I have gotten up early on my day off , gotten my child ready, and driven down to the studio , to then be notified that the class has been canceled and it moved . I have given my phone number and email a total of 3 times now. I hope this will not continue to be an issue moving forward . But if that where not enough the automatic pay that is set up to charge you on a monthly basis .... (At least in my case) Does not. This has resulted in me now calling and asking them to charge my account. I've been coming to this studio for aprox. 3 months now. And I do hope that these problems are resolved in the near future. As id like my daughter to continue to attend this studio. I'd be more than happy to update my review being that my experience better in time. read more

What a disgrace, I am a teacher in the Clark County School District, I was invited to attend a local Ballroom Dance Competition on a Sunday at the Las Vegas Hotel, this day I was told would be kids only and I was very interested in possibly having these lessons taught at my school as I have heard other schools have a program after-school. As young dancers were coming off the floor after their competing, they were being yelled at and humiliated by the owner of this particular studio, I did ask around as I wanted to make sure not to fault the wrong person, but after 5 people confirmed this is the owner of VZ. I have gone back to the CCSD and was assured another local studio is in charge of the after-school program, whew.... As an educator for over 25 years, beating down a child in order to get a performance is not the way, be very careful before enrolling your children here. read more

I want to say right off that the staff and Instructors are top notch. I had a private lesson last night with Mariano that was amazing. He had me dancing east coast swing in 30 minuted and I haven't danced in almost 10 years. I would highly recommend Mariano for any of you starting out. That being said, I have mixed feelings about the business ethics of management. I bought a Groupon for $33.00 which was a $229.00 value for 2 private lessons and one 45 min group lesson. It did stipulate dance studio rules apply but did not specify. I assumed first time customers. I was wrong, the private lesson was not the 45 minutes I thought I was getting but 30 minutes. This was not explained when I called to make the appointment. I was told this when I arrived. The lesson was still great, but Somehow I felt cheated. I would have preferred this info up front. I hope their management reads this and takes this in the manner of which it's intended. Let prospective customers know exactly what they are getting. I am looking forward to my second lesson! read more
