Fantastic store, good selection of furnishings and decor (but not nearly everything they sell is in the store), and love the location. Only wish it was bigger. Oh yeah, this is the only Restoration Hardware in the state. read more

I will say the style is wonderful. We had sort an ordeal with the customer service department. I am not quite sure where the ball was dropped but I think it was a combination of the shipping company not being up to par, and the phone people in customer service. Long story short, we called corporate headquarters and they went above and beyond to make things right. I think the company is really trying to help solve issues when they arise. I would have given 5 stars except the hotline for customer service is sub-par. Quality assurance was lacking a bit, but again I suspect this might have something to do with the shipping company. read more

After shopping for area rugs over the holiday weekend I settled on a rug from RH. Unlike most of it's competitors, RH does not have sales. With a $100 annual membership most items are 25% off all the time. Which meant, I thought, the rug I chose from RH would be about $600 more than a similar rug I almost chose from a competitor. What I didn't know, however, is that RH will not allow you to pick up your rug. You MUST pay to have it delivered, at least for rugs 8 x 10 and larger. That's an additional $199. In my opinion, this non-negotiable charge should be included in the listed price. read more

In the past, I typically avoided Restoration Hardware since it was a little too stuffy and expensive for my tastes. But we were in full on "buying stuff for new house" mode and figured it wouldn't hurt to browse. We actually found the softest faux fur blanket there for a decent price. It's so soft that I fight with the cat over it. Great for an home decor item or if you have a LOT to spend on a piece of furniture. read more

Their winter 2011 selection of french country furniture is TO DIE FOR! I dream of this stuff, but, totally can't afford $2000 for a bed or $1300 for a chair. I'm screwed, but man, at least I can dream about maybe finding a cheaper version at TJ Maxx. I'm glad I have the same taste as the high-browed Seattlelite crowd :) read more

RH Seattle | The Gallery at University Village - Home Decor Near Me - Seattle, Washington

Most ridiculous "store" I've ever been to. It's unnecessarily huge, no one seems to work there, the place is crammed full with levels and levels of essentially all the same furniture (designed for giants), and nothing's even actually for sale! We went to get new bath towels...nope, can't actually buy them. The stacks and stacks of towels are only for display. We were instructed to go home and order online. Whiskey Tango Foxtrot? They can't find room for a store room for textiles in their 100,000 square foot castle?! Forget it, shopping elsewhere. read more

Restoration Hardware is receiving my first EVER negative review. I don't usually bother but this episode was a first. Using Visa gift cards I received for mother's day I went online to order a end table. I had no problem entering the order online and received my online receipt, but was notified the items were on back order. Fast forward to September when RH bills me the entire amount for the table..there was some unknown issue with the gift cards..since they were brand new I can't imagine what this was...and the RH application accepted them. Apparently they don't charge the cards until the item ships and it is MY responsibility to resolve this issue. I didn't keep the cards...who keeps them after you use them? So I'm out the gift card amounts. RH...this is an application issue...your app should not accept them if there is an issue...and if there is an issue you should tell me immediately not months later. The RH help desk calls themselves "The RH delight team" HA!! read more

Ok, it's hell for elegant, the stuff is lovely, and the greeters on the main floor were certainly a step up from Walmart. However I was not tuned into the "new" shopping vib. I wanted a bath mat and I really like the one I bought a few years ago. I completely understand that furniture needs to be ordered, I mean it's not a flat pack venue but I was actually expecting to walk out with a bath mat- nope, everything needs to be ordered including things like towels, bath mats - nope, no stock at the store. Also no prices on anything, the idea seems to be that you check out the catalogue, come in for an actual "face to face" with the goods and then you order. Someone did point out if I decided to order if I called them directly they would ship for free. And, yes as mentioned by others, it did have a morgue quality - it's huge and, aside from the people who work there, the place was empty on a bright and sunny Sunday. read more

Have had two great experiences at this store. Helpful staff and great looking, comfortable furniture. They graciously helped us resolve a problem we were having with a purchase. I wouldn't hesitate to buy here again. read more

Beautiful furniture. Not a fan of the new set up. Takes forever to find an associate since they aren't dressed in a uniform. No help desk. No cash register. Not a user friendly customer experience. Would rethink the concept of this layout. read more

I shop at RH because it's like dealing with the Nordstrom's of the furniture business. They are easy to work with. The return policy is great. Most importantly why I love being a customer from RH is the amazing delivery guys. They are on time, respectful, fast, hard working and go above and beyond to make sure I'm happy with the product placement in my home. read more

We drove to the RH in University Village to check out some barstools we had seen online. The store was so very impressive from the outside that my hubby was even excited about our visit! The excitement diminished (for both of us) once we entered the store. The store is huge, but seriously has the exact same furniture displays mirroring each other in every room. Bottom line, you see the same exact couches, chairs, tables, lamps, beds etc in every single room. I'm sure that it is some type of design element that I am not well versed in, but it was very boring to me. When we approached a sales associate, who was completely engrossed in her computer, and asked about where we would find barstools we were told "all over the store!" REALLY???? So we looked on the entire first and second floor and only found one stool, which was not the one that we were looking for. Frustrated and unenlightened and not approached by any other sales people, we left and went to Room and Board across the parking lot. I love the RH website and their beautiful catalog that I receive in the mail; I only wish that the brick and mortar store would have the same "wow" effect. I can't imagine that I'll be making a purchase anytime soon. read more

Great stuff, love the look but hate the store. We walked all over and had a hard time getting anyone to pay us attention. On top of that, we wanted to buy a $200 mirror. Oh no, can't do that...you have to pay the $199 shipping. I asked if I could just put it in my car now. Oh, that would be way to convenient. I need to order it and they would happily ship it to my house for an additional $199. What a bargain!! So stupid. This store needs help. Have they not heard of Nordstrom or Amazon and wonderful customer service and/or free shipping? Wake up RH. You may be purdy, but you stink. read more

I would not even give 1 star to this review. Terrible customer service and delivery. If you want your parts missing for a whole month and still they could not give you an answer, just go for it. I purchased one bed, 2 night stands, one dresser. I received the shipping confirmation call in 4/8, booked my delivery on 4/15. On the morning of 4/15, they told me they couldn't find the headboard and the concrete top of the dresser, and just canceled the delivery. Tried to reach back, no one picked the phone. Call the customer service, they just knew nothing! On 4/17, called back and rescheduled the delivery same week. Received a call late that week saying they were able to ship. On 4/21, still morning, still they couldn't find the same missing parts!!! After my vacation, they finally found the headboard, and didn't mention the concrete top, thought they got it also but I was wrong. They totally forgot the top, only delivered the bed on 5/6. Gave a call, and they said they cannot figure out which part is missing! One week is passed, no callback no update! I would never buy anything here! read more

The symmetrical layouts don't work with the puffy, faux-shabby aesthetic. Having two (or even four) of every massive rec-room sized sofa set in opposing positions makes this store feel like some kind of weird, cluttered lobby. The relentlessly neutral color scheme makes everything run together. You'll get deja-vu as you wander through the countless bland tableaux. The experience is more a game of spot-the-differences than the curated parade of novelty you'd expect in a boutique. This is anti-curation in an anti-boutique. Other strange layout decisions: in this huge, 4-story bespoke structure there isn't any kind of foyer to welcome guests. Walking in from street level feels like stumbling into the back of someone's messy living room. The interior space is carved up into awkward little chambers that, crammed with indistinguishable furnishings, feel claustrophobic in spite of their towering ceilings. I don't know who and of this is for. The attempt at "modern" feels halfhearted and lost in an earlier time. It's like the crisp, clean lines of midcentury fell in with a boozing art-deco crowd and grew bloated and disheveled by association. Or like a 1930's gangster read a book on wabi-sabi and commissioned a steampunk mansion but ran out of space. It's not austere enough to make any kind of statement. It's not particularly luxurious. It's not funky enough to be cool. It's neither rich nor understated. There's no elegance or opulence or whimsy. It's ugly, but not ugly enough to be clever. There's no surprise or wow factor. Seeing 4, 8, 12 or everything just underscores the mass production. How many bowls of moss do you need? And platters, dishes, trays, urns of moss? Must every coffee table be adorned with a huge spray of quartz? The utter lack of grace and wit is stifling. This is a misfire and not even an interesting one. read more

I'm a sucker for everything in this store. The deep, low-set sofas, the luxurious tall beds, the rustic tables and fancy chandeliers... even the teddy bears they sell! But sometimes I look at the pieces and think that if I decorated my house with too much RH furniture, it'd look colorless, lifeless and drab. So a good mix of everything never hurt anyone. This is still my go to store for ideas and inspiration. I especially love the bathroom fixtures they sell! If you're in the market for new well-made, stylish furniture, make sure to look here. read more

For a store that prides itself on all the employees being home designers and that it's just a show room and you can't purchase anything directly in the store, why can't I ever get any customer service? Basically, there's never enough employees per the ratio to customers or they can't leave the floor they're on. I have always loved all the products, but they need to take a step back and have some salespeople on the floor just to help the basic customer. read more

After spending $22,000 at Restoration Hardware here in Seattle to furnish our large 1 bedroom apartment over the last 10 months, I can say for sure that this company will never get another dime from me. It truly has been a nightmare and one problem after another. More than half of our furniture has arrived damaged-one piece in particular they have delivered damaged three times...another piece has been delivered damaged twice now. The quality is really not what I expected or thought I saw in store, either-the delivery service RH uses is an absolute nightmare-these guys refused to bring our cloud sofa upstairs via our elevator because they insisted it wouldn't fit-it took my husband and a friend very, VERY little effort to bring this 9 ft. couch to our floor via the rather large elevator in our building-they had done in minutes what the three professional moving men said was impossible. Impossible, eh? Two guys, three minutes-done! These guys literally dumped our new $6,000 sofa in our lobby and just LEFT. Super professional! But I will give RH customer service props, they called, apologized and sent me a $150 gift card...that should cover the cost of a couple of towels, thanks. But seriously, I did appreciate the gesture. It was something at least. The straws that broke the camel's back for me are as follows-I just received a Reclaimed Russian oak console table from RH-which was damaged. I called customer service to see what we could do about this and they offered!-yes, offered to give a discount of 10-20% because I mentioned that I really could not continue to take off work to get yet another delivery-so I thought, fine, if they offered to take a couple hundred bucks off, I'll accept that and live with damaged furniture. Well, University Village RH called me to inquire about our delivery and literally refused what customer service had already offered and promised because "they don't do that" and "don't know why customer service offered a discount". How's that for customer service? I spend over 20 grand in your store and you're worried about $200? Fantastic. So now we have a furniture repair person coming out, or so they say. So instead of a small refund, I get to take another day off of work to get my damaged table repaired. In addition to all this damaged furniture and delivery shenanigans, ridiculous shipping costs and horrendous customer service-people-never, never sign up for a RH credit card. We did, and it is without a doubt the worst credit card experience we have ever had. They could not get our address right, and never once have they managed to send a statement. If you can't deliver undamaged furniture, stick to your word and won't even send me a cc statement, you're dead to me. Good riddance, RH. You are absolutely the worst. And you've managed to lose our business for good over $200. Never again! read more

The reason I am giving RH the highest possible rating is due to my experience with Ryan, one of their staff members. When a call to the 1-800 customer service department proved hopeless, I contacted the store directly for help. I had an issue with a light fixture I had purchased. Ryan was courteous, helpful and interested in finding a good solution. He very thoughtfully solved the fixture issue for me. The next time I purchase something from RH I will ask for Ryan. He is a true professional. read more

This is a huge place with very little to show. How's that possible? It's room after room of couch and chair combos with truly slight variation on the same thing over and over. A room of white, a room of beige, a room of leather, a room of tufted. But all basically the same shapes. You can't even see floor examples of any of their special order finishes. Do yourself a favor: look in their catalog and if you like this plain box shape they keep repeating, duck in just to sit in it to see if you like the feel. That seems to be the point of this store, since you won't get get any visual differences. If you don't like their boring shapes online, save yourself a trip, because the store won't give you anything else. read more

Love Restoration Hardware. High quality, large pieces of furniture that I can't find anywhere else. Also loved the distressed look of many of their pieces so my kids can be kids and I dont worry about scratches. Many great experiences - even with returns or exchanges. read more

Have spent thousands there. They seem to own nothing. Nothing can be returned. Everything is dictated by a third party and they are useless to resolve anything. Most things are discontinued even though you ordered them and the order was taken. Only received half of order and I'm SOL on the rest. Can't return the half order I received. Set incomplete. Used their design service. Awful. Don't do it. Received wrong chair I ordered. Incompetence runs rampant here. Showroom is nice but half the stuff can't be ordered because it was built specifically for showroom OR discontinued. read more

I like the furniture here, but not the shopping experience. The sales associates always put a lot of pressure on ordering locally through the store. This is my second time shopping for something specific I saw online, and I called the store to ask a question about it. The woman was sure to mention twice in our five minute conversation that I should call the store to have someone place an order for me rather than ordering online on my own. I had the same problem the last time I was in the store shopping for an upholstered bed. RH should take note of Room and Board's business model where all the sales associates work to provide a pleasant and pressure-free shopping experience. I've spent hours with salespeople there and then been encouraged to go home, double check my measurements and order online if I preferred. (See my review of Room & Board.) I hate shopping at RH, but it never fails that while I'm shopping for furniture, something of theirs catches my eye. It's too bad the store itself makes shopping so unpleasant that I never want to order directly through the store. Last time I actually ordered RH furniture through a third party, Modsy, where the people I dealt with were far more pleasant. read more

Store is beautiful, if you like the dull gray look, and the employees at the store serve you well, however the concern is after you put down multiple thousands of dollars toward orders, the service sucks. After reassuring me on when it will be available, as we needed it for multiple parties, and then buying the piece, we got delay after delay with little concern on the part of the company. Once it gets to their warehouse, despite being multiple weeks late, they won't even rush the delivery leading to more delays. I will never shop here again, given their competitors serve you much better even when their is a delay -- those stores will call you, explain the delay, provide you options, and once they get it, I will get it 1-2 days later. read more

I've been a long time shopper of Restoration Hardware. I have been to many other locations in USA. The store by far has the most uneducated staff I've ever met. They do not seem to know their products very well. In fact on a trip up north I visited the outlet and they seemed to have much more knowledgeable staff. It's unfortunate that such a high-end furniture store has staff that do not know their products. My recommendation is to go to the outlet if you have any questions; and to make sure that before you going to the store in Seattle that you take all the measurements and fact find yourself- the staff here just don't have a clue. read more

Yes, the prices are astronomical. But the service is definitely great. I purchased a few pieces of furniture, some accessories, and a lamp here for my new place, and I was happy with the entire process from beginning to end. The only sour note was that a clock I purchased was delivered with the hands having fallen off. I had to take the clock back, and received another one -- that also had the hands fall off during shipping. Since I was not going to wait around for another handless clock, I opted to return it instead; the process was super easy, and the people working there quite expedient. read more

We walked around the new RH location this weekend, and it is beautiful. We weren't approached or greeted by anybody, which seems weird, but perhaps we didn't look like the type that would purchase anything. I will keep this in mind when it comes time to furnish our house and probably not consider RH for any pieces of furnishing. They have beautiful furniture, but a lot of it is the type of stuff in which, if you don't see a tag, you can't afford it.. you know, $20k sofas. With 2 other furnishing stores already in U-village, you'd think they would be a bit friendlier, but whatever. It's lovely to wander through, sit on some couches and get ideas. read more

Jennifer Siela, a friendly sales associate who greeted me on the phone as I called 5 mins prior to closing, deserved a 5-star rating in client service. Overall, it was a shopping experience comparable to Notdstorm's! Thank you Jennifer! read more

I used to love Restoration Hardware. Love, loved, loved them. No more. Walked in today and instead of the quirky, great stuff they had giant furniture, most of in leather or nubby beige things. Lots and lots of beige. Big, big beige. read more

Terrible place. Clearly, there must be a ton of people in Seattle with a ton of expendable income or a store like this would go out of business quickly. Very fancy indeed. Nothing in stock. You will need to join their club ($100 - non-refundable) to get anything shipped. If you don't like it, too bad, you just lost $100 for a useless club membership. The designed we talked to was absolutely clueless. She had to run to a supervisor for every single question we asked (e.g. is this available in other sizes, is it in stock, does it come in other colors, etc.). Avoid at all cost. read more

Lighting and bath fixtures: how can something with the appearance of timeless substance and great design be so poorly made!?! Behind the patina of RH's spectacular art direction is the epitome of near-criminal Chinese manufacturing. A massively heavy medicine cabinet with (what appears to be) a precision piano hinge doesn't close without hitting the frame; light fixtures that are designed to be around a vanity are so dim you can barely see to brush your teeth. Attempt to change the fluorescent bulb, and the connections collapse under their own weight. We ordered 4 items, of which we had to return or exchange 3. Remember to add the cost of the electrician and construction of installing twice. This is an enterprise that needs to get it's act together. There is very little behind the gloss of their sexy catalogs. A 9 on design, a zero on engineering. If your looking for "Restoration Hardware", try Rejuvenation Hardware instead. Prices are higher, but they seem to actually have some engineering and quality control. read more

The quality of the products we purchased is very poor. We purchased the martine chairs and the flatiron table. The table was suppose to be rustic and the one in the showroom was that. The table we received was primitive. You couldn't put your hands on the table without getting splinters. The chairs were of equally poor quality. Two of the chair legs were cracked. The remaining chairs had legs that varied from maybe seeing a piece of sandpaper before stain to being so rough that the surface has splinters. The company seems to be more about image than offering a truly fine product. They appear to be in profit taking mode maximize income at the sacrifice of quality. Don't be surprised if this company goes out of business. They definitely don't seem to care about their products. read more

I'm writing this review as I grow old waiting for someone to help us. If we weren't already set on the specific cabinet drawer pulls, I would have left 20 minutes ago. Used to be a pretty decent place but now it's all high-priced crap that is no better than what you get at regular hardware store at half the price. Specifically, I purchased bathroom accessories (shelves, etc) but they cost a lot of money and were shipped mis-assembled. They appear to be of poor quality and cost a lot. Unfortunately, these were sale items (original prices were 3 times what you'd pay at, say, Home Depot, and could not be returned. Stay away from them! read more

My husband and I walked into RH to do some shopping for our home at 7:59pm and we were unaware that the store closed at 8pm. Midway thru the store an employee of RH, Carrie, approached us and told us the store was closed and ushered us out. Rather than give us 10-15 minutes to browse while they closed up shop, she showed us out like we were unwelcome. I will not return or give RH any business. I would also discourage anyone looking for home furnishings to visit this store. We all deserve to be treated better, and there are so many other places to give your business and hard earned money. read more

I have a big gift certificate to Restoration Hardware from family after buying our new house. Unfortunately, the few things we have purchased have come in looking incredibly cheap and definitely not worth the price tag. The customer service has also been absolutely horrendous. The sales associates consistently treat me as if I am asking them for favors and continuously ask me to look online - what is the point of that giant 4 floor store? Will buy some curtains and be done with them. You can get much better quality for better prices elsewhere. read more

We could probably all agree RH has great designs and at the same time a subpar customer service. I declare people at RH (not just folks at the gallery but its entire staff) are legally insane. Yes, they are locos and locas. Einstein says and I am paraphrasing, insanity is doing the same thing over and over expecting different results. They sent me the same chair 3 times and on the way for the forth of what obviously an easily recognizable mistake. Their entire Draftsman's Desk Chair is labeled WRONG from the supplier. If everyone at RH puts some ownership and brain into what they do, these kind of mistake shouldn't have occurred and would have been detected all the way from the moment they accepted the inventory. My 8-year-old is eagerly to use her brand new desk but folks at RH just keep sending the wrong one, maybe just maybe you will get the right one next week or we'll just have to cancel it.
