Traveling all over the world I have noticed that it was more and more difficult to find a classic 90 minutes Bikram classes.  The heat loosens the joints and intensifies the workouts for maximum results.  I have practiced here over several years coming back and forward from Europe and this yoga truly my favorite place .Yoga has improved my life dramatically ..  I have enjoyed seeing the studio grow and flourish .  Thank you Glow Hot Yoga for all you provide  for us!

This used to be my favorite place to practice. A beautiful space, kept very hot, with amazing…read moreteachers, especially Maria Elena. Then one day they started using a very odorous chemical cleaner. I could smell the fumes when class started, but practiced anyway and tried to ignore it. I got very sick for the next 24 hours, and so did my friend. I brought this to the attention of the studio owner who said that the cleaner did not have a smell. It appeared that someone had put the wrong cleaner into the mop, and was using a toxic bathroom cleaner in the hot room instead of the blue cleaner they had used before with no fumes. I was promised it wouldn't happen again. Sadly, it happened several more times. I ended up leaving because I didn't want to compromise my health. When I asked the beautiful teacher, Maria Elena, for help, she became very Insulting and told me to just relax more. She further told me I would experience problems at any shala, because they all use the same cleaner. This is not the way a yoga teacher should talk to anymore, much less someone concerned about breathing toxic fumes and harming themselves. I just wanted to experience her beautiful class in a safe environment. Sadly, I don't go here anymore. I really miss the classes as they were so good for me, but not at the expense of my lungs or with such a lack of compassion for the students legitimate health concerns. UPDATE: I was sort of done with this but I just received a very aggressive call from the owner, Raquel, in regards to my identical Google review. Rather than apologizing and rectifying the situation she was aggressive and in denial, refusing to acknowledge or solve a super simple issue of using the correct non toxic floor cleaner they had for years. If you go on google you will see reviews of other people getting sick. Stay away if you care about your health. So sad this goes against the entire premise of yoga in how they treat their customers! Shame on them!

I've done Pilates before, but I wanted to try it with the reformer. I found Hauser Bayside Pilates on class pass and reserved a class for later in the week. There is no designated parking for the studio, so you can street park for $4/hr (a crime if you ask me), or park in the garage about a block away. I parked in the garage and made my way to class. I was the first to arrive and had no idea what to expect. The teacher (I'm assuming Natalie? I never got her name) was on a reformer and just yelled across the room for me to sign a waiver. I thought that was a bit unprofessional. The studio is fairly small. It had 6 reformers for the class, and a several other equipment for use. I thought the class would be larger, but I was happy to know it was not. We started the class and it was a trip. It was crazy to see how many different moves and positions you can do with one machine. I found the teacher a little impolite. One moment she would be interested in my progress, and other times she seemed so apathetic to the whole thing. Who knows? When I left she didn't ask me what I thought of the class or anything really. She just said hopefully I'd be back. There was another girl in the class that seemed more interested in my experience than the teacher. The teacher is the reason why I gave this place 4 stars instead of 5. I really liked the class (pilates with a reformer in general), and the location. Only real draw back is the teacher. She was something I could do without.

Natalie's reformer class is far from basic and she has a trained eye that directs you into new positions smoothly for a complete body workout. While the class is not quite aerobic (maybe a bit), her focus on form makes the exercises more effective than a basic class, yet less strenuous than some classes where you feel like you're going to die 10 minutes into the workout. I highly recommend Hauser Bayside Pilates for newcomers or experienced enthusiasts. When you feel new muscles worked out, you know the Pilates instructor is teaching the right thing, stressing proper form--- and that's what I've experienced at Natalie's studio. I'll certainly keep going back for more.

Ariana lives for pilates annd she cares and you can see it in her effort to really make sure you understand the union of breath and movement and alignment in her sequencing. i love her classes. Randi is an angel. he's kind he's excited he's creative and he's extremely extremely efficient with timing and cues. hes always kind and always encouraging positive and optimistic thinking while instructing innovative sequences kalena comes to mind instantly when i think innovative sequencing. she's sweet and friendly and warm and her class is always amazing. truly don't miss a kalena class Cristina. cristina is just pure wisdom and directness. she knows jetset in and out and she teaches it that way. but with no ego. at all. she's powerful and so is her sequencing but she delivers nicely and is EXTREMELY clear with her cues. she also has an eye for everything and ropes back you in if you drift offZ thank you cris! brenda. brenda is a gangster. she is alll of the best parts of mismo embodied. in spanish there's a word "savor" directly translated it means flavor. brenda is flavor x 100 but not annoying. she and her classes are warm, fun, energetic challenging and they have savor. her cues never miss, she's stickler for alignment in a way that i love and crave maureen is not here as often bc she teaches elsewhere but if you see her name anyway take her class she's such a great instructor. and lastly julie is new but you wouldn't know it by her classes and i haven't missed a class yet x she's so nice, great sequencing. if you know me, you know that i don't often give reviews and i'm not incentivized by anything other than wanting to share something great. i really love coming to class and this in combination with yoga are truly the recipe for longevity.

Barry's Miami Beach is an excellent training facility that teaches running and weight lifting. I…read morelearned how to run faster, pace myself and blend running into my overall workout regiment. Also Barry's taught me about strength at an achievable level for an amateur. Historically I lifted 2 to 3 pound weights in ballet barre classes. Barry's has helped me develop to 10-15 pound weights for better muscle strength. The only "cons" of Barry's are the price and the singular focus on run/lift. My greatest weight loss and muscle tone has been at full service gyms like equinox. I work out longer at equinox and ultimately burn more calories blending running, rowing and elliptical with barre and yoga. Equinox as a full service gym is half the price for a monthly membership. Moreover, Equinox runs promotions such as free membership through the end of 2023 for a 12 month membership in 2024, and the monthly membership is $210 corporate. Notably Barry's corporate locations offer discounted membership and class packs for my employer but Barry's Miami Beach doesn't accept them. I ended up with Barry's corporate and Barry's Miami class packs. Barry's serves an important purpose. When I want to push my running legs and lift heavy, Barry's Miami Beach is the place. Barry's has good treadmills with thicker cushion that is worth the extra money. My Miami Beach condo has treadmills included but zero cushion. Candidly I know more injured runners than active runners. The cushiony treadmill and higher end running shoes like Hoka are valuable investments for a runner. (I have never been injured running but pay for quality equipment, coaches and shoes.) i love the enthusiasm and encouragement of Sammi, Michael, Derek and Rachel especially. The balance of the challenging Barry's workouts is worth it.
