So when we needed new roofing, siding, gutters, gutter covers, facia and soffits I obtained several quotes. Erik didn't hesitate to come out to Farmington and quote the project. We had some "slick" salespeople and we had a guy that wouldn't give me a quote (he really didn't like women was my opinion) and would only deal with the insurance company. Erik was professional, honest and not "slick." The price was fair. My test is always the "warm and fuzzies." After a few meetings with Erik, he had my business. Then came the problems. Every color combo for all of the above items had items out of stock, discontinued or something. Erik made a lot of phone calls and several vendor trips. I have no idea how many combos we went through - probably 15 or so. Finally we found a combo that could be put together. YEAH!!!! Erik was patient through all of the "I hate neutrals" moments and several trips of holding colors against the house in different light. Roof install went well and then we had to wait 2 weeks for the siding. The siding installation was completed and they came back and fixed a couple of small items and we were done before Thanksgiving. Erik was around almost daily and even picked up extra FOD on his own. They installed our new lights and Ring cams too. Erik was easily reachable and kept on top of the project and kept me up to date. Very impressed. They were within $7 of the original quote (I think permit fees changed). Very happy and thankful that I selected Erik and Roofs R Us.

Eric was onsite the majority of the day and the final checklist and sign off of everything was very assuring. The new gutters were installed within a week of the roof being completed. What was very impressive to me was that the sales rep for Zups took the time to stop by after and ask if we had any questions or see if there was anything they could have done better. Before contacting Tradition, I received an estimate from one of "those" kind of roofing companies - You know the type, the ones that come by and leave a business card if your door and when you ask them to check out your roof they, of course, say you need and entirely new roof. When Scott Landa (who, in the interest of full disclosure, is the husband of a former coworker) came out to take a look at my roof he had an entirely different, and thankfully less expensive, opinion. After a quick repair, Scott was able to fix the area of my roof that I was concerned about. As he was leaving, I asked if I needed a new roof. Scott's answer was no. I not only appreciated Scott's professionalism, but also his honesty. I'm sure he would have loved to put an entirely new roof on my home, but it wasn't needed and he was able to accurately assess the situation and didn't rip me off. When the time comes that I do need a new roof, I'll be giving Tradition Roofing and Exteriors a call.

I was not looking for a large company since I've heard horror stories on a few of those companies that are only focused on growth. I was looking for a small to mid sized company that had an owner that was actively involved, and had a small crew and knew what they were doing. I am VERY HAPPY I found Tonka Roofing since they exceeded every expectation I had and did a great job! Tonka Roofing was easy to work with, answered my questions, dealt with my insurance company, and was able to start on time and finish on time and did great job cleaning up after. Our roof was done sloppily with collateral damage to the dormers that caused a leak. They claim that there is nothing wrong with the roof itself and therefore they do not have responsibility for the leak, and because the leak only occurs with heavy storms with wind, the leak cannot be caused by the roof. However, this leak did not exist prior to their work on the roof. Basically stay away, they are not to be trusted to stand by their work.
