After a kitchen flood turned our home upside down, they stepped in and completely turned things around. From day one, they were professional, reliable, and incredibly knowledgeable--but just as importantly, they were also kind, caring, and even fun to have around. That might sound unusual for a contractor, but when you're living through a medical crisis at the same time, it makes all the difference to work with people who bring both skill and compassion into your home. The quality of their work was outstanding--every detail was done right, and I had total peace of mind knowing our house was in their hands. Honestly, the only thing they didn't fix was my cooking (but that's not their fault--just ask my kids). We had some delays of our own during the wrap up details (very minor things) and Julio showed up the day after I texted him (a YEAR later) and got it all finished in an hour. We are so grateful. If you're looking for a trustworthy, dependable, detail-oriented contractor who will not only do the job right but also treat your home like their own, don't look any further. We'd call them again in a heartbeat (though hopefully not for another flood!).

I normally don't write reviews, but my experience with this company has been extremely…read moredisappointing, stressful, and costly for my family. I hired this company after a leak in my house. They promised the entire project -- repairing the damage and building a new bathroom -- would be completed in 3 to 4 weeks, including working on weekends if needed. The first two weeks went smoothly, and based on that progress, I even added a kitchen renovation. I was reassured multiple times by Carlos that everything was on track. I traveled to Canada to save on Airbnb costs, trusting their promises. During that time, they even sent me videos claiming they had completed most of the repairs, which turned out to be completely misleading. When I returned, I was shocked to find almost nothing done -- just the flooring changed and the kitchen removed. Meanwhile, they had repeatedly confirmed that "everything was under control." From there, things only got worse: We were forced to stay in a hotel with four kids because they claimed the painting and bathroom work would be completed over the weekend -- another false promise. I incurred significant hotel and storage costs due to their ongoing delays. Two months passed with little actual progress. Carlos and Julio often didn't respond to calls, and Francisco stopped showing up altogether. Cameras showed that no real work was being done -- at best, someone would stop by for an hour and then leave. We lived in a construction zone, with equipment everywhere, sleeping in one room while trying to keep my kids safe. Later, they brought in a third-party company who found no leak, and then kept pushing me to pay the invoice -- which I did. They also promised to return for small repairs like fixing the noisy tub and completing the painting, but never showed up. It has now been over two months, and these issues remain unresolved. I ended up hiring another company to finish the work they abandoned, which cost me even more. One of the most serious issues was that they forgot to connect the drain pipe to the roof, allowing sewage gases and smells to fill the attic, which made my kids sick. After a month of going back and forth, they finally came to fix it -- but only after trying to make me sign a release of liability. They refused to fix the pipe unless I signed it, which is completely unacceptable and unethical. This company has shown a consistent pattern of false promises, misleading updates, poor communication, and negligence -- not just in their work but also in how they handled serious health and safety issues. I will be filing a formal complaint with the CSLB against their license and submitting a claim against their bond. I want to make sure no other homeowner has to go through what my family experienced. If you're considering hiring this company, think twice. Document every single thing, get everything in writing, and don't trust their verbal promises or videos. This has been one of the worst and most stressful experiences I've ever had as a homeowner.

They always kept me in the loop with what was happening and did what they said they were going to do when they said they would do it. They finished ahead of schedule and on budget. And they're just very sweet people, nice people to have in your home every day for a month. The interior designer they brought into create design sketches and mock-ups gave me a couple really valuable ideas that helped me make the best decision when I felt a little lost about how to do it. Nightmare of nightmares!!!…read more Proper completion is all we want! Nothing extra. Wish we could've met Guy who everyone is speaking so highly of. We hired his nephew, Denny. 1 month was the completion time we were told. Beginning of August 2023 was the starting time and here is 2024 with an incomplete yard. Completion time is nothing compared to the rest. I really need no words... just look at his work that he's been proud of, each step of the way. I do not know how he has a license. He was not knowledgeable about certain things, was unprofessional, negligent with poor communication skills, horrible workmanship and was ok with obviously horrendous work. Beware of Denny Cohen. He shrugs off concerns, believes his guys over clients so doesn't even check on the concerns & lies about little things such as digging, dirt replacement, leveling, sloping, seams, and likes to raise his voice at women when he is asked about something that is obviously wrong. I was uncomfortable continuing to work with him and Realm Home insisted I do anyways. Even though they knew how the last interaction between us made me feel like crying afterwards due to his aggressive tone and telling me how anything he does-- I won't be satisfied-- over and over and over again. All we have asked for was proper completion. We were willing to accept so many things that were wrong but we couldn't accept these things you see in the pictures. I don't believe anyone else would either. A huge project that he could not handle. I don't want anyone going through this!!!! If he had only addressed our concerns when we first brought them up, instead of brushing us off... ***oh it's supposed to be sloped. What do you mean lumpy. We'll just brush that and it'll be fine. The seams? There will always be seams. That's what dg looks like. Dg will never be solid, the dogs will always leave foot prints. (if dogs can leave footprints, humans can leave bigger ones, so why would anyone want dg?). That's 100% new dirt, my guys said (even with video proof of the opposite) *** ... there was a huge chance that the project would have been completed and worthy of, at the very least, "settling".

He demanded that I provide my identifying information, ignored my request for privacy based on the review, and made accusations that I used a fake contractor. It was irksome enough to remove an additional star. Remainder of review remains in tact.] As first time homeowners, we discovered that the market for construction/ remodel help is difficult to find in San Diego. It's hard to filter out the reliable reviews from those who are associated to the business owners. This is heavily prevalent on Yelp and exceptionally so for service providers: it's important to notice how many of those 5 star reviewers have (1) no yelp activity, (2) no yelp friends, and (3) created the yelp account close in time to the date the review was placed. You should be cautious of the veracity of these reviews. With Treeium, you'll find a that there are some valid reviews and some questionable. I lend mine as one backed by evidence. To date I am the only Yelp Elite reviewer. I'd be happy to pass along my complete sentiments privately. I selected Treeium from -- you guessed it-- yelp. My husband, who's the more calm and friendly individual between us two, was the one to receive the initial marketing pitch from the company (we'll leave identification of individuals private). Overall, I would say they do a great pitch. The representative that they send is friendly, knowledgeable, and conveys a strong level of confidence in how the project will go, etc. The individual came back a second time to talk to me with my husband.. and even I was thoroughly convinced by the pitch. Once you sign the paper, that's where the rollercoaster ride starts. The first guys that came in were kind enough to lay down carpet covers to avoid stomping around in our Asian household (read: NO SHOES INSIDE) and on our brand new carpet. Subsequent contractors were less respectful and didn't bring shoe covers. We had to lay down our own carpet covers. Thankfully I wasn't present for most of the process because I'm sure I would have raised hell through each phase. They were relatively timely on the breakdown and removal. There were strong initial attempts to protect our property and minimize the construction mess. But once the actual work started, it seemed like there was just problem after problem. There were many pros and cons.. pros are evident by the final bathroom being done (finally).. My biggest qualms however were: (1) PRICE: we had to pay for a lot of additional things after the quote that just kept getting tacked on the original quote. It was frustrating to find out that certain tiles or things that we wanted were unavailable or could not be incorporated. We had to settle on several aspects. There is a payment plan option to make it more palatable. In retrospect, I think the project was on the higher end of what we could have found elsewhere. (2) FAILURE TO MEET TIMELINE: this is the MOST irksome part. We were told 4-6 weeks.. it took almost three months. With the various contractors that are required in any one job, I understand that the more parties there are.. the more likely there will be scheduling problems. But the timeline was edging on unreasonable. (3) AVERAGE COSMETIC JOB: I have never heard a contractor tell me your wall is crooked, therefore, there will be a gap between tile and wall in order have a straight tile surface. It's a minor aspect but gap bothers me every day like an itch in a spot you can't reach. Also, the white tiles that were chosen were shaved at the corners, leaving ugly brown rounded corners amidst the white tiles. Another itch. Also, we opted to keep the bathtub. They cracked the bathtub with removing the old parts around the tub. Rather than fix the tub, we were told we could pay more for someone to fix the cracked porcelain or go buy our own fix it kit. After all the extra costs, we opted for the fix it kit.. which i think is ridiculous. Oh but by the time we got around to it, the tub started to rust in the places where they damaged it. When you step back and look at the overall reno, it does look better than what we had. We're generally happy with the final product (my husband more than I)... and it is definitely an improvement. We did refer Treeium to another group of friends who did an even bigger project, but they had the exact same complaints we did so I feel that our comments are valid and verified. Prior to the unpleasant communications received from Eran Chan, I would have been happy to share that Treeium is *capable* of doing a good job and that we might return. With his harassment, I don't foresee our return or further referral.

Ruth and Kevin were both extremely responsive, patient, and forthcoming, and really put a personal touch on our entire experience and project from beginning to end. I really appreciate that Teknik's approach to a project plan/estimate is about thoroughly scoping the work up-front so that the estimated timeline and costs are accurate and don't unexpectedly change later on. We were up against a tricky timeline (our new baby was born during the project!) so it was very important to us that the project finished on-time and that the cost in the end was what we anticipated, which it was. On top of being very organized, communicative, and transparent, I also felt like Kevin was very well-attuned to what we were asking for and "read my mind" in proposing solutions.
