The food was actually superb. But, I don't like their deceptive pricing. Like would you like this and this. And you can actually get half and half. Then the menu prices become inflated without any notice. But for one of the "upgrades" or whatever the reasoning for the extra charge, it was only shredded lettuce along with a small dollop of sour cream and guacamole. It was rather sad. It's something you'd get standard at a chain restaurant like El Sombrero. Oh. If you get the consome, it will be an extra charge of $2.45. And they won't tell you that. But other than that, the food was good! I really liked how they had a separate birrias menu. Make sure you bring wet wipes because your hands will be oily. The birria sliders were delicious. Our strange total came out to be $16.90. Even with the $2.45 consome factored in, the total isn't $15.40. Since they were sliders, it's rather small. They're the size of the square dinner rolls but packed full of cheese, oil, and half chicken and beef. The beef was slightly more tasty compared to the chicken but both was just soaked with their variety of flavors. The birria quesadillas were $17.40. Even with the extra $2.45 with the consome, their math is not equaling $15.95 -- whacky! As for the taste profile, deliciousness. These three quesadillas were pretty massive. And like my sliders, they were equally oily and messy to consume. The horchata was really tasty. For a large, it was $6.75. It tasted different from other places. There was a nice rice flavor to it and less of the cinnamon flavor. Would I visit again? I think not. Good food. Prices were bleh, especially how it seems like we were charged more than their menu prices.
~$40 for two. I got the Birriaquesadilla with consomme and a wife got Birria sliders. We also had a large horchata. The Birriaquesadilla was delicious and juicy. The birria had the same flavors as the birria sliders but the bread soaks up the extra consomme. We felt pretty full afterwards. The horchata was good with a nice clean rice flavor and less cinnamon. It also wasn't too sweet. They also didn't fill the whole cup with ice which is nice. I was charge $17.40: 13.60 Birriaquesadilla + 2.45 consome. = $16.05. I'm not sure why I was charged more. The wife's $13.60 Birria sliders + 2.45 consume = $16.09 but we were charged $16.90. She might have been charged more because she got 3 chicken and 3 steak instead of sticking to 1 meat but it didn't say that on the receipt. The line got super long and I didn't have the energy to argue my bill I guess I always prefer transparency. I would have given this place five stars if the menu prices matched my receipt. Would I come here again? Yes. The food was that good. The little discrepancy on the bill is not going to prevent me from coming back to try the other stuff on the menu. I saw a ridiculous looking flaming hot cheetos birria ball looking thing that someone ordered and I kind of want to try it.
Everything you've seen on TikTok is true -- and then some. I say this half-jokingly, but I'd honestly be okay sinking my life savings into Rey Taco. When I tell you everything here has FLAVOR -- I mean it. The menu is massive, creative, and full of variety. From authentic Mexican dishes to burgers, wings, ramen, and fusion creations you didn't even know you needed, Rey Taco truly has it all. Let's talk about the star of the show: Hot Cheetos Birria Bomb - $9.35 (1 piece) The hype is real. Spicy, cheesy, crunchy, and stuffed with tender birria -- it's indulgent, bold, and absolutely unforgettable. #11 Birria Ramen - $7.25 Rich birria broth, noodles, and meat that warms your soul. Comfort food meets next-level flavor. This was a close second favorite. Jamaica y Guayaba Horchata - around $4 A sweet-tart drink that blends traditional horchata with hibiscus and guava. Refreshing and so unique -- I could've had two. And that's just scratching the surface. The portions were huge, everything came out piping hot, and the flavors? Explosive. It was honestly overwhelming (in the best way). There's still so much I want to go back and try. A few menu standouts worth noting: Tacos Gobernador + Rice & Beans - $18.06 Surf & Turf Birria Ramen - $16.95 Doritos Mexican Pizza - $29.95 Birria Nachos - $16.70 Smash Burger Taco - $4.68 The employees were friendly and welcoming, which made the food experience even better. Even though the place was packed, they moved fast and kept the energy positive. Only downside? Parking. It's located in a super cramped shopping center. Honestly, Rey Taco deserves a standalone building with a drive-thru and its own lot. It's that serious. Bottom line: An absolute must-try. I'll 1000% be back. Next time? I'm ordering at least two Birria Bombs and bringing a cooler.
The level of flavor in this food is absolutely ridiculous. You can tell there are no shortcuts because there is so much depth you can taste. Whenever my friends and I go out, we always order plenty of things and sit on the table. Today I got the beef soup, Smashburger tacos and fries, hamburgers, and fries and the kids got a couple of the novelty items like hot Cheetos burger and hot Cheetos birria ball. Even the rice was super flavorful. The beef in the soup was tender and tasty. Def a hole in the wall atmosphere and the parking lot is super small but the line stays long because the food is amazing! The people are really nice and quick as well. Can't wait to come back!
So, I saw this place on IG, and Rey Taco definitely has a lot of food that many would like to try at least once. How many places around the area have Hot Cheetos birria balls, machete governador (really long quesadilla(?)), and dubai chocolate strawberries?? I stopped by for lunch and planned to have something sweet here because of that. It is a bit hard to park though, not as bad as Atlanta mind, but it's quite limited and tight. Inside is kind of cramped. When I went for lunch, it was really busy and there was a line that went around the tables and almost out the door. They have an extensive menu too that I had a bit of decision paralysis when choosing what I want for lunch. I came in with the idea of getting the more viral items, and then I talked myself into just getting the quesabirria with consomme (it's an add-on for the consomme) and dubai chocolate strawberries. There's a free salsa bar with a good amount of options. They have a notice to dissuade others from taking more than needed or else they'll have to charge for it. It's kept pretty clean and everything was fresh. The food was good! The quesabirria is really cheesy and the consomme had such a rich flavor. I personally may not order quesabirria again though because I got to try the volcan, and I found that much more up my alley. I guess that'll depend on my mood, but there's so much to try here, so who knows. The dubai chocolate strawberries were nice. The strawberries themselves were fresh. I haven't had dubai chocolate elsewhere, so I have nothing to compare it to, but it was nice.
Food was absolutely delicious everything was on point. The customer service was excellent, and the whole experience felt smooth from start to finish. I'll definitely be back. Highly recommend
I love Mexican food, I finally had the chance to try this place this weekend and let's just say some of the food was amazing. . . The customer service was good nice gentleman at the counter was able to help us out. Now let's get into the food, I had a #5 which had birria beef with a side of rice, cold Mac and some refried beans which was good i give it a 6/10 . My bf ordered the #60 on the menu which consisted of shrimp which was a decent size and good amount that was over a bed of cheesy rice with bell peppers and onions which was really good, both meals came with tortilla to eat with. Last but not least we both had to get a horchata drink which was delicious as well. Now for the hype we had the ball and it didn't pass the whole hype it was not really cheesy and didn't taste like nothing like it was burnt no good 3/10. Maybe it was not fresh but it was definitely burnt i didn't take a picture of mine cause it was dry and didn't own up to pulling it apart and the cheese pulling but the one my bf had did but he still didn't like how it tasted. The place had no real decor but they have indoor seating which it was kinda small , be ready to wait cause it looks like the food is cooked based on order and be ready to spend they are kinda expensive.
One of the best and authentic spots for Mexican food I have been to here in Atlanta. This was formerly El Indio, I've wondered what happened and why they changed their name. Nonetheless, you should definitely consider checking this restaurant out. The food here is great. I've tried the tacos, sopa de asada, birria, and more. Each dish does not disappoint and over the years, they have added way more to the menu. The service is good and the food has been always ready in a timely manner. There is also enough waiting room to sit or eat there if you choose. The parking is on the smaller side. If it's full there are some spaces behind/to the side of the building.
10/10 I do recommend. By far best Mexican food I've had in Georgia . Service was great start to finish with mostly Hispanic staff , they showed cohesive teamwork and the ambiance isn't brag worthy but it gives vibes of a Spanish town with great food . I ordered the Burria Ball with hot Cheetos covering it , Torta and a cup of Burria Ramen . All ripe tier and bring your good debit, credit or cash because it ain't cheap but it's worth it . I can't wait to go again
So this taco spot is in Tucker and it's kind of off the beat path, a hole in the wall. But those be the best ones! This Taco spot is heavily into birria So if you need your fix, this would be a good spot for it. It's a small shot. Maybe less than 20 tables or so. There was a bar top area that you can sit at as well. Just a countertop though. Don't expect it to be a warehouse kind of situation. The parking lot is a shopping mall or a small shopping center so there is only limited space to park in as well but it's free. The service is good. If you are eating there, they will give you a number and bring it to you at the table. If you are picking it up for carry out, they will buzz you when your food is ready. Just a note, you do have to pay for every drink, because there is no drink dispenser. So if you think you are going to be drinking water for free, nope, bottles only. Birria quesa tacos - They were damn good. Came hot and still cheesy. I would definitely recommend. Birria nachos - The nachos were a lot. There wasn't as much meat on them as I thought, but they had a lot of toppings. Well they had melted and shredded cheese and guacamole and onions and cilantro along with the meat. But you definitely got way more nachos and you did anything. Birria ramen - It was basically ramen LOL. Of course you can dip your tacos in them, that's probably what it was for, but it was still good! And if you didn't want to dip the tacos you could eat it as is. Pastor taco - solid taco. You needed to put the onions and cilantro on it to set it off. Chorizo taco - also a solid taco, very salty and savory.
My daughter and her friend saw this place on Tik Tok and wanted to try it. We got there around 2 on a Saturday and it was busy but not super packed. The space is enough to accommodate maybe 40 people if I had to guess. The ordering process is very stressful because they have so many items in the menu lol. But the hot Cheeto Birria balls was what we came to try so we ordered 3 at 22.00 which is a bit expensive. We also got a Birria Torta and a Cheeto hamburger and some chicken Flantas as well. Everything was good. We will probably go again in the future.
I've been going to the spot for a while now I absolutely love the taco Birrias with there consume, they have a large variety of food and the customer service is good shout out Junior and Dexeli for there great service. if you're looking for an authentic Mexican taquería This Is the spot.
The service is always great and there's plenty of options to choose from with different varieties of meats and salsas. I think this is a must try spot to everyone and have been coming here for a while. The asada fries are super good as well as their mango passion fruit drink! It's clean inside and they have restrooms so you can sit down to eat or do take out.
Reviews are largely positive. Many highlight the flavorful birria dishes, creative menu variety, and standout drinks. Service is often described as friendly and efficient.

My sister loves this spot so much that she drove to Tucker a couple of nights ago after leaving the gym, asking me what I wanted, and showed up with a whole bunch of their menu items for me to try. I've never been to this spot. in the interest of full disclosure, and didn't know about it previously. This food right here is amazing, filling, hearty, and flavorful. I feel like I was eating in downtown Mexico City or something. This seems like what the Mexican equivalent of soul food would taste and fill like, and I am very pleased indeed. I have to visit soon myself to learn about their menu options, but the beef tacos and the Manchuran noodle soup was absolutely amazing that we got as takeout. I'm already impressed. Bravo! read more

I'm late to the birria taco game, but if you are too, or need some more, El Indio has some really good birria tacos that I will comeback some more for! If you havent had birria tacos, it's like having a pan fried taco and it comes with a bowl of beef stew that you can eat it with. It's almost like a more meaty and filling quesadilla and you dip it with a warm and full of flavor beef stew that is slightly sweet, savory, and sour. This specific El Indio down in the Norcross/Tucker area also serve birria ramen, which is beef stew with actual tender slices of beef shanks. The food is great, and the staff are very communicative, but just bare in mind that the parking lot and the inside seating is pretty limited. read more

I rate tacos for both their originality and creatively. They way the lettuce, hard shell tacos, cheddar cheese and tomatoes are made to perfection. I was impressed by the ease with which I was able to order, and everything came out on par with what I expected, or even better! I will definitely return read more
Decided to visit this place on a whim after missing a few chances to get birria. We decided on a birria quesadilla, ramen and the hibiscus drink as we were not that hungry. Seating is fairly limited and the store had a room temperature in the 80s, so so be prepared to take the food to go. read more

Came in on a Sunday afternoon, this place was packed but the line moved quickly. I ordered the Birria tacos and chicken soup. My friend and I ordered separately, I was number 38 she was number 39. I placed my order at 11:31. 11:52 they called for my friend to get her order, my order was called about 7 mins after. The wait for the food was ridiculous, they gave some BS excuse about the tacos take long to cook (Girl whatever) the food was good, very seasoned and juicy, 3 tacos come with each order. We could've shared an order. The portions were huge. I could only eat one. read more

I found out about this place from a fellow foodie friend. I had been craving birria tacos but didn't want to stand in line for an hour to get them. This place was pretty close to home so I had to give it a try. It is located in a small plaza with limited parking. Depending on the time of day you go, getting a spot shouldn't be an issue. Orders are placed at the counter and you wait until your order number is called. Staff was wearing masks and so were other patrons unless they were eating. I went with the birria tacos with ramen consommé. I ordered an extra taco thinking I would need it but I should've stuck with the 2. 3 was a a little too much for me especially since I also had the ramen. The tacos were stuffed with filling and they were delish. The ramen cooked in comsommé was the winner for me though. Add a squeeze of lime and it's perfect. I would definitely go back for this but also to try other menu items! read more
So I'm on a mission to try all the birria spots in Atlanta because I'm lowkey addicted. First on my list was El Indio because it seemed pretty authentic and lowkey enough to where there wouldn't be an hour plus wait. I drove up (and almost passed by it because it's in a mini shopping plaza) and the parking lot didn't seem very crowded, so I was excited that there wouldn't be a long wait. When I walked in, there were a few people ahead of me, so I took this time to check out their menu. Their entire menu is in Spanish for the most part, and a lot of the employees seem to speak Spanish primarily. There were two registers, one for cash and one for card. Mostly everyone was paying with card, which is what caused the wait in line. When I got to the front, I ordered the birria combo #1 - 3 tacos with consomé. There's also a birria combo #2 - 2 tacos with birria ramen. Both combos are $11.50 (pretty pricey for birria and ramen noodles), but mine rang up for $11...which is cool, I'll save 50 cents lol. I waited for about 10-15 minutes and my food was finally ready, so I got it and drove home. Finally, the tacos - so these were pretty good. The flavor of the meat was nice and seasoned and there was a perfect amount of cheese and meat in each taco. They do come on doubled corn tortillas (corn seems to be the birria standard), and despite my dislike for corn, they were solid tacos. They even held up well on my 25-minute drive home. I would've liked for them to have been a bit spicier and for the consomé to be more flavorful, but overall these were solid. I may come back and visit, but I plan to find a place closer to me with better prices. Stay tuned for my next birria review lol. COVID-related: Employees are wearing masks, some are wearing gloves, and most customers were wearing masks too. Social distancing wasn't being enforced and there didn't seem to be any pronounced sanitizing happening between customers. They're offering both dine-in and carry-out options. read more

When I say the food was amazing, it would be an understatement! I ordered the birria tacos, consumé and passion fruit aqua fresca! The food was made to order and you could taste the freshness of each ingredient that went into preparing the meal! The employees were very friendly and helpful! If your looking for affordable authentic birria then this is it! I will most definitely be a reoccurring customer! Lol! read more
WOW... this place is legit. If you are looking for some phenomenal tacos, this is the place to go. This was my first experience trying birria tacos and I must say, I may never go back. For those who have never tried them, birria tacos are made by slow cooking the meat in a broth to create a soup, then the tacos are fried in some of the soup. You dip the taco in the leftover soup for a delicious treat. Now I've always been a big fan of ramen (exquisite taste, I know) so when I saw this dish on the menu I had to try it. I was not disappointed! The tacos had tender shredded beef inside, with the option to add radishes for some crunch. The house made soup elevated the ramen enough to make it the perfect combo, and dipping the tacos just tied it all together. Come hungry - after two tacos I was full, so I couldn't even finish the soup! El Indio seems low key and slightly off the beaten path, and in my experience it's the "hole in the wall" places like this that have the best food. I will definitely be back! read more
This place is the the club on a Saturday night before Covid. It's located in a small shopping center filled with other Hispanic business. I always gage a business by the different ethnicities that patron it. When I walked into El Indio, I knew the food had to be good because there was a nice melting pot of people in there. Don't worry Spanish and English are both spoken so order away. This is my second time ordering birria tacos and ramen from here and A+ because it tasted just like the last time. They have made it pretty easy to order the combo, I got the number 2, which is 2 birria tacos and ramen for $11.50 which is a steal. First, the tacos are so full with meat you could make two extra tacos, the flavor is delicious without dipping it in the ramen. I have to give props to the salsa verde as well because it was nice and spicy. Let's talk about the star of the show, the ramen. Y'all know those cup noodles they sell at Walmart for like 60 cents, you know which ones I'm talking about. They have taken this 60 cent cup of noodles and transformed them into a masterpiece. They are full of meat, onions, cilantro, and o my the spice and flavors just merge together on your tongue. Whew the ramen is what makes the wait worth it. A few small housekeeping things, as stated by other Yelpers, please order ahead and use Yelp to do it because you will be waiting all day! Two, I took a star away because there is no social distancing in this place and even though the staff were wearing mask, there were quite a few customers that were not. Go try them y'all, they live up to the hype! read more
My friend told me about how amazing the Birria queso tacos were so of course I had to try them! The beef was cooked to perfection and there was this amazing broth you could dip the tacos in. I've never had tacos like this before and it was a complete game changer! If it were for the food alone I would have given them 5 stars but unfortunately getting the order placed took almost ten minutes. Pro tip: Bring cash! There is a card and cash line and that night the card line was very long. read more

Today I visited Indio for the first time after searching Yelp for birria tacos. The reviews seemed great so I gave it a try. I walked in, was warmly greeted & checked out the menu. They've made it super easy to order the birria tacos & have made it the #1 combo which comes with 3 birriaqueso tacos & a side of consome. I ordered two orders and only had to wait about 10-15 minutes for my food. The tacos and consome were SOOO GOOODDDD! Well-seasoned, hot, full of flavor. They don't skimp on the meat or cheese! Each taco was loaded. They also come with a side of salsas and limes. My fiancé devoured his 3 tacos and only made it through 2 without getting full. I will definitely be back! read more

So the birriaquesa tacos.....crispy shell, nice layer of cheese, good amount of meat. The ramen had some of the meat in it too. The meat and consommé- It was tender and flavorful. You can taste all of the ground up chilis, spices, and garlic. That oil is needed for those shells to snap, crackle, POP. The hot juice and oil is amazing when you dip that crunchy taco into and make for a goooood broth for those ramen noodles. Yes, the area of the restaurant is a little sketchy(didn't feel unsafe) BUT who cares when the food is that good. I get mine with extra cilantro and onions with a side of beans and rice.....can't get go without my frijoles. I will be back for sure read more

The only bad thing about this place is that parking can be difficult because it is so busy. Very good food and nice staff. Fast and delicious read more
Came here to join in on the Birria craze and I must say, it did not disappoint. This place was super busy with take out orders mostly which is probably why my one order of combo (A) that came with three shredded beef tacos and the soup/stew took so long to come out (approximately 30 minutes). Do not come here hungry -- I was definitely ravenous and while I remained patient, I was dying inside. My only gripe was that the tacos did get soggy easily, without it being dipped in the soup/stew. I think that's pretty normal. The soup/stew in itself wasn't as flavorful as I thought it would be but the shredded beef and its seasonings were *chefs kiss*. They also offer birria quesadillas and more! read more

I've been searching all over ATL for good Birriaqueso tacos and I FINALLY found a place that's meets my expectations. I ordered through grub hub and picked it up. It was very busy when I walked in but picking my order was easy. The tacos were just the right amount of crunchy and they did not skimp on the meat. Everything was seasoned and I was very full after the second taco. I'll definitely be back! This is the only item I've tried but can't wait to see what everything else tastes like! read more
You know why I'm here....for the Birria! This place became super popular throughout the pandemic over their Birria Queso Tacos y Ramen! I've eaten it many times. The Ramen is my fave but the tacos are pretty good as well. They do not skimp on the meat! They have a pretty vast menu of Mexican dishes. When you step inside, you'll notice a lot of the local patrons eating more traditional Mexican dishes but you can always spot an outsider like myself by my order...Birria! The staff is always friendly and they pump out orders pretty quickly. If you do not want to wait however, call ahead and place a pick up order! I would 100% recommended El Indio as a wonderful gem in Tucker! read more

They sell the famous and delicious birria aka dipping tacos. They also sell authentic Mexican cuisine, but we were there specifically for the dipping tacos! Clean, not fancy, but the food was amazing. Also try the Horchata, a cinnamon drink that was amazing. The establishment was clean and plenty of seating available. Highly recommended! read more
Loved this spot! I was looking for a Birria place in Atlanta, and I came across this one on Tiktok - it did not disappoint! It's a casual place where you order at the counter and then take out or sit down in their seating area. I ordered the Birria tacos, and they were GREAT. I would definitely come here again whether for takeout or dine-in. They have a cool variety of drinks too. read more

Never disappoints. Prices are definitely those of Atlanta rather than a hole in the wall Norcross authentic Mexican food joint but it's worth it. Caldo de res or the birrias are delicious! I don't prefer the ramen noodles as the other option is far more flavorful. The horchata to satisfy the sweet tooth is the way to goooooooo. read more

Went a second time hoping to get that same euphoric feeling from their seafood birria tacos and seafood soup. I didn't enjoy it as much as I did the first time. Maybe because it took FOREVER for my food to be ready even though I ordered online through Yelp via Grubhub. I placed order st 7:44pm with a 15-35 minute window that it would be ready. I even received the notification that my food was ready for pickup at 8:09pm. I arrived at 8:26pm thinking my food would be cold only to get to the counter and this one lady told me my food was NOT YET ready because there were so many orders. I showed her my order confirmation and how it said my food is ready she said no and I would be notified when the red mark reaches the end and turns green. I waited like ten minutes then I went back to the counter and spoke to a different lady. I showed her my order confirmation. She explained sometimes the online orders give a false, early ready time. My food literally just got served right when I asked her. She bagged it up and that was that. Would you know on the order confirmation page I still haven't received that green line at the end the first lady was talking about. I would have been standing there looking dumb had I have listened to her which is why I'm writing this updated review at 1:23AM and I took a screenshot to show it is STILL not green. read more
