I figured since I was here and I love Mexican food. I will go with something safe since I drove such a long distance and get a chicken quesadilla. This is bad went to worse in my very first bite. I thought it was like some type of tiny bone of some sort that I bit into, after spitting it into a napkin it turned out to be a freaking staple!!! They have no trash cans in the main area of the store. I expected a little challenge with regards to a language barrier, but this is by far the worst that I've experienced. food is overpriced IMO compared to the Mexican restaurants I frequent. I felt very uncomfortable and unwelcome by the service I received straight faces everywhere. No smiles or nothing. Needless to say, I won't be back, and I just donated $30 to their establishment. I couldn't even eat the food.

Sadly, our experience was disappointing enough that I felt it was important to share. Everything was burnt, even the potato that came with our meal nothing but fatty pieces for the steak. The potato was so burnt and hard that it made the loudest sound when we dropped it on the table. We love this place once again, but this was insane.

She struck up a conversation with the ladies, who are Salvadoran, and gave her some free atole (hot corn drink with milk) that they were making for themselves (not on the menu). They brought us back a couple of tacos from El Loteria that made us want to go back ourselves. I was pretty impressed with the asada, I must say! It rivals my all-time fave, El Rey Del Taco, but is a lot closer-by. We didn't get to try the barbacoa, but apparently it was not as good as the asada or the al pastor. I believe there is also a small convenience store inside, which is great to have especially with the baby Publix closing a few months ago.

This will be one of the best, if not the best, taqueria you will find in greater Atlanta. [FOOD] Barbacoa taco -- $3.29 After you have their barbacoa, you will wonder why no where else in the area sells barbacoa like this. It is so tender, flavorful and not at all greasy/heavy though you would think it would be. Tacos are super stuffed with barbacoa, it is worth the $3.29. Carnitas taco -- $3.29 You can see the large chunks of pork breaking apart with just your fingers, it's that tender. They do not skimp on your taco fillings, especially when it comes to meat. Taquitos -- $11.99 6 perfectly rolled and deep fried chicken taquitos with rich crema and cotija cheese generously drizzled on top. It comes on a bed of more cotija cheese, lettuce, tomato, avocado and limes. These are so addicting. Enchilada verde -- $12.99 Be warned -- this is VERY spicy! I'm not good with handling spice like my husband and he loved it. I had a bite, and it was worth the sweat but definitely very spicy. Portion size is generous, 4 enchiladas per order smothered in verde sauce. [SERVICE & LOCATION] This taqueria (which I think is actually called "cuernavaca") is located inside a small Mexican convenience store called "El Loteria". The parking spaces are a bit tight, and there's more room at the adjacent Shell gas station. Language is mostly Spanish and very little English. I ordered and checked out in English. You order food at the taqueria counter in the back -- walk straight ahead when you walk in and then to your left. Once you receive your items, you will get a receipt (prior to payment) to take to the convenience store cashier to pay your bill. There are counters and tables to eat right there at the store, but we took ours to go.
