If you need an electrician who is knowledgeable, reliable, and quick, call Rey. I actually found Rey on Yelp after my former electrician failed to return my numerous phone calls. My circuit breakers have been tripping every couple of hours and it was 100 degrees outside. Knowing that this probably meant the fuse were bad, I had to contact a professional. Rey was at my house within the hour I called. After Rey took a look at my panel, I knew why the other guy was ignoring me. The patch job the other guy did was basically melting my panel. Any longer and my house would have caught fire! The solution, in my case, was to change the entire panel. It's not inexpensive, but I figure we should spend the money on something that will last for another 30-40 years. Rey explained exactly what his costs were and how much he would charge. It was extremely competitive, so he began work the next morning at 7 AM. You know professionals when you watch them work. When it comes to chefs, I notice their knife work. When it comes to contractors, I watch for how fast (whether they spend more time on water breaks than the job), neat (everything tucked and presentable instead of a mess hidden behind plaster and stucco), and clean (the work area does not have trash everywhere) they work. Rey took his time, explained to me what he was doing along the way, and still was done ahead of schedule. At the end of the job, the work area was clean, the wiring the the panel were labeled neatly, and I had a new 200 Watt panel to direct the power throughout my house. Rey even showed up early the next morning with another contractor to re-stucco the area around the panel...on July 4th! Now THAT'S professional. I needed to upgrade my house's electric panel to accommodate a level 2 charger for an electric vehicle I recently acquired. I shopped around and I spoked to Rey. He knew exactly what he needed to do and offered me a really good price including license fee from the city and also stucco patching which other electricians normally would not offer. The price was so good by a big margin including those extras so I was a bit skeptical about his job but he sounded very confident and experienced (he said he installed EV charging stations for major dealers around the town). So I went with him and I can strongly say that I made a right decision. Yeah, this guy did an amazing job!! He and his crew showed up on time and did the job so professionally. Once they finished the installation which came out very nice, he brought a stucco specialist to patch the open holes. It wasn't half decent stucco job by an electrician. He was a real pro. I was in the market to get some solar panels installed on my home. It's going to be big. Big like 21 250W panels. When the solar company came out, they told me I needed a new electric panel upgrade. My wimpy 50amp panel from 1967 wasn't going to cut it. I needed a flush mount, 200Amp, overhead, top feed panel. So the calling begins. After getting phone quotes from 5 or 6 different electricians, I decided to go with Rey. I understand phone quotes are just that, estimates. But most other electricians are hemming and hawing.... well, we need to see this, we need to see that first before I quote you. How hard can it be? Once I described it, Rey knew exactly what I needed and gave me an exact quote. His quote was lower then all the others. Probably about 30% less then the highest quote. Rey showed up at the exact appointment time, got all the information to pull the permit, and pulled it the same day. An appointment was set for Saturday at 7:00am to do the install. Again, Rey shows up right at 7AM and installation was completed by late afternoon. Rey came by a third day for the inspector to "approve" the work. Originally had Rey out to bid the replacement of the main panel and a couple sub panels but life happened and I had to scale back the job significantly to repairing electrical issues in the kitchen and adding a couple of new outlets. Rey is very good electrician. Part of power down at my brother house. We hired someone to check the problem and they recommend to replace a new panel for $1,500.-. Then I hired Rey to check again. He spent 1.5 hours to find the problem and fix it. He only charge $130.- which is very good price. I recommend Rey is a very professional and honest man. I called Rey based on his Yelp reviews. He had all 5 star reviews. So I called him in the morning and he was able to come the same day. He and his partner assessed my situation and determined that the breaker needed replacement. I asked him about upgrading the panel and he recommended that I do that. I had gotten one quote before at $2,800 by a licensed electrician and he beat that price by a lot. Rey is also licensed, by the way. I'm holding off on the panel upgrade, but I will definitely be giving him a call when the time comes. My dad, who is a novice electrician, replaced the breaker for me after pulling on the wire and realizing that it was not even tight. My panel is really dated, however, replacing it is quite pricy. It has been several months since I had work performed by Rey. Work was completed on March 3, 2017. I contacted Rey after reading several positive reviews. Rey offered the most competitive price on an electrical service panel upgrade when comparing to three other licensed electricians. In addition, he was able to get the Siemens Solar ready Electrical Panel I had requested. I wanted to be future proof as I am considering going solar. Rey and two other workers arrived on time. I had an old 100 amp Zinsco Fire Hazard electrical panel that had the circuit breakers seized on the aluminum bus bars. Rey was prompt and had a Stucco Repair specialist come out the next day prior to Final Inspection. The only area where Rey fell short was when it came time to installing the electrical service roof mast flashing. He installed a new flashing, but put it over the old one and secured it with screws followed by a lot of mastic roof sealant. The top edge of the flashing was not tucked under the roofing shingles. The final result was not pretty and it looked horrible as there was a lot of black tar goop. I asked him why the old flshing was not removed and he said that is how he has always done it. I researched online on how to properly install a roof flashing and realized that screws should never be used to hold a flashing in place and the flashing should go under the roof shingles not over. I had recently redone my entire roof and the area of where the electrical mast penetrates the roof was an eyesore. I called my roofer and had him redo the flashing by cutting and removing the old one and securing the new one with roofing nails. Prior to having my roofer do any of the work I cleaned off all of the mastic sealant using elbow grease and a lot of Goo Gone. When I was done cleaning it looked shiny and new. The only exception, was that I couldn't remove the black tar stains from the shingles surrounding the flashing. I had my roofer remove the stained shingles and put new roofing paper around the flashing prior to installing new roofing shingles. My roofer told me that using screws on a roof is not the correct way to do it as over time the screws rust and fail causing an area for water penetration. I understand that electricians are not roofers and don't have the proper knowledge or skill to install a roof flashing or new shingles. Luckily for me I had leftover roofing shingles and someone to redo the roof flashing and shingles. Something to consider is that you may need to hire a roofer to correctly install the roof mast flashing. read more

I've dealt with Rey on three different occasions. All of which were very professional and friendly! The first job he took was during a remodeling job for another group of people. He put in recessed lighting and fixed some cabling in my kitchen. The first thing I noticed during the job was that he was on time coming in and finishing. This is the main problem many people may have with hiring contractors, but this wasn't a problem with Rey and his men. The work was done well and he told me what were the problems and how he fixed it, unless others who just finish and leave. I was pleased by his work so I called him back twice actually, to fix some outlets that were found to have problems around the house. Like the first visit, he was very flexible and was able to come in when I was available and finished in a timely manner. Overall, Rey's work was done very well and efficiently. His prices are definitely competitive and better than "fair". I have no problem deeming him my electrician for any type of electrical work from now on. Also, he is a very friendly guy when you talk to him. He even gave me suggestions on how electrical work should be done in the future, but never tried to upsell me. I'd recommend him to any of my friends of family that need electrical work done, big or small. read more

I hired him to upgrade the electric and ultimately rewire the entire house. It was a big job and they did great work. I've used a lot of contractors over the past 30 years in my business and found Rey to be right up there with the best I've ever worked with. After reading several very positive Yelp review of this company, I called them up. Got a voice mail when I called them around 10am, but received a call back within 5 minutes from Ray. I had a problem with one of the old 20A breaker in my house that I know needs to be replaced anyway. So half of my house has no power and Ray was able to fix/replaced it fairly quickly and even helped me figure out another problem I had at home with my central A/C unit; all done without asking for more $$. He charge a reasonable price and a tip was added for his willingness to help without asking for more money up front. Yay, we've found our go-to electrician! Rey just replaced the electrical panel at our new home. It was the original box from 1962 and we wanted to replace and upgrade it. The setup was apparently a bit more complicated than most, because two other electric companies we called came out to look and never bothered to get us a quote to do the job. Rey gave us a quote on the spot and started the work ASAP. He also did some other things throughout the house - installing lights, taking down hardwired fixtures we didn't want, etc. I really appreciated that he communicated with us throughout - many of the other contractors we had working on the house were not as good at keeping us updated, and chasing people down for updates was the last thing I wanted to have to do while packing to move, etc. As the panel upgrade progressed and things got more complicated than anticipated Rey went with the flow and got the job done. We recently contacted Rey Electric because of the recommendations on Yelp. We are so glad we did. They are honest and fair priced. We thought we had a bad breaker plus there were several electrical jobs we wanted done. We called, they came out that day. Instead of having to replace a breaker, the owner said that maybe a spray of WD-40 with oil would do the trick for a balky breaker. It did and that saved us a bunch of money. We had the company install 7 recessed lights (on his recommendation about 3 less than I thought I needed), fixed a ballast on a fluorescent light in the kitchen, installed a fixture in the laundry room and fix a doorbell that had not worked in years. They arrived in time on the day they said they would. The owner and crew were very courteous, worked for about 4-5 hours, protected our furniture well and cleaned up perfectly. We could not be more happy with the work and we now can see to read with all the new lighting. We highly recommend. read more
