They are not enough great words to describe the work that Chris and his crew especially Frank and Bob did today to get my electricity up and running. I had a tree fall on my car and ripped my electrical lines down. Chris just happened to be driving by and dropped his card off. They had guys out here 20 minutes later redid all of the work put in a new panel and had PG&E out here for a final inspection by the end of the day and I was up and running with electricity. We wanted to do recessed lights for our house and we got quote from 3-4 reputed electrical companies in San Jose, which was real rip off . We got to know about JMK through houzz and I don't have words to express about their job, quote and how flexible both Danella and Jay were. I personally loved the way they talk to you how they give you insight about their work explain you every bit of question that you and them. They won't just do the work they promised you if you are interested in knowing how things works they educate you not every body does that. Jay : on time, great ideas, he knows his job. Danella: very good in giving you suggestions, options and co ordination whole work. Both of them together just makes things happen. About their employees : they are simply awesome lovely people. I love it when people come to work is not only working but enjoy what they do. We had 3 of their employees worked 1.5 days and got my whole house changed contacts that they have are lovely. We got some dry wall work done through their contact and he was perfect on what he does. Over all I have no words to express how good this whole experience was . I started missing those guys who worked here and also little off of missing Jay and Danella till my next project kicks in. An online search led me to JMK electric and I couldn't be happier that I chose them to help me. I needed a charging station installed at my home for two electric vehicles asap. I have 0 knowledge on the subject matter and didn't know where to start, but Danielle promptly got back to me after I requested a quote online. She delivered rockstar customer service :), super friendly and answered all my newbie questions I had. She had me send over some pictures of my electrical panel, gave me a quote, and had somebody at my home asap. I found these guys on Sunday and originally requested service for the next day on Monday, but they were closed for Labor Day. Not a big deal. They quickly got back to me and worked with me to reschedule for the next morning on Tuesday. The whole process was quick and seamless. The prices were also reasonable; they aligned with the general price range of what I was able to research online. It was an excellent overall. In summary, JMK is THE shop for all electrical works you'll ever need. We needed a 50 Amp 240 V line drop with a NEMA14-50 in the garage for an electric car. We called a few companies but none returned with any quotation as promised. We had to call back and repeatedly emailed them to get formal quotations . JMK was the last one we called and Danielle from JMK started the dialogue immediately It turned out we also need to upgrade the panel from 100 to 200amp. The total cost is very reasonable compared with other shops. The job started a couple of weeks later (could be couple of days if it wasn't raining) and finished in a day and a half. JMK Electric completed an electrical job that entailed reconfiguring circuit breakers and expanding usage of my current electrical panel, adding 6 dedicated circuits in my crawlspace, cleaning up some old circuit issues which where called out by my building inspector, and installing outlets in basement/crawlspace as well as upstairs and outside my home. They helped me figure out voltage requirements for my dehumidifier/ air flow. They tried to convince me to do less dedicated circuits to save money, but did what I asked when i explained my reasoning. We had one situation where there was a bit of confusion about the quote but he said that since it was their issue he wouldn't charge me for the small issue, but I also added something else on the job that i hope made up for it. I called up 4 electrical contractors to bid the job that were very well qualified. But JMK won the bid because they were priced reasonably, asked the right questions about the job, and ALSO treated me with respect, and not just some dumb girl who doesn't know anything and can get taken for high pricing. In my bid process, many contractors are unaware that I have an engineering degree, so I always look for a responsible discussion of options, and not just throw out the most expensive one. Before I had this job priced out, i asked my handyman for advice and then waited to see if electricians would state that option. JMK immediately discussed that option as they looked at my home. The work was done with highly qualified electricians, timing was reasonable, and they worked to meet a special scheduling need that i had with another contractor, and they also completed a building code inspection too, which many electricians try to talk you out of today. I want all my house electrical to be inspected! JMK passed first time of course and no issues. I will go to JMK for future electrical needs. Earlier this year, we had a tankless water heater installed which required new wiring including pulling a new conduit. JMK Electric came in with a competitive offer and performed the job in a few hours with a very clean installation of the outside conduit and the respective wiring, all of which passed inspection without a glitch. More recently, we had a faulty breaker causing an entire sub-panel to go out and take the furnace out as well. Jay came in late in the evening (7:30p) for an emergency diagnostic and repair so that we didn't have to go another day without heat. He replaced the breaker and also double-checked all the other ones in the process. JMK installed our beautiful pendant light, changing the original outlet wiring to a hardwire fixture using a hardwire lighting kit we had bought. Jay (the owner) came out to our home promptly, was polite, professional, and what I liked the most was that he was willing to give us options that would fit our budgets needs. After other estimates, we felt good about choosing JMK. They promptly started the work and told us that it would take 2 days. The crew was excellent! They covered all of our furniture and floors with plastic. Their consideration and respect in our home was sincerely appreciated. Later on in the day, Jay's wife Danielle came by to drop off some additional supplies that the crew needed. Danielle is incredible! She is incredibly kind, warm, friendly, and sweet. We spoke about additional work we wanted, including a hood in our kitchen. Danielle took the time to research different hoods that would fit our price range, she didn't have to take the time to do that but did. Jay came out later in the day to personally see how the job was coming along, took the time to ask if we liked where the lights were being placed, if there were any additional outlets we wanted replaced, etc. Once they completed the work, they took the time to remove all of the plastic and cleaned the floors. JMK processed all of the permits and inspections. Danielle contacted us to make sure that we were satisfied with the work that was completed. I got home today. Went to throw a load in the washer. I smelled something burning. My dryer plug was melting. I unplugged it right away. I found Jmk electric on Yelp. Jay and one of is workers were out to my house in less then a hour. They changed my plug. Tested my system and he told me I should replace the power cord on my dryer. Worst company to do business with. I contacted this company and spoke to Daniella in early December 2017. I told her we wanted to upgrade our panel and take out the ink and tube in our bathroom. I was upfront with her and told her I needed the project done before Christmas because we have our in laws coming to stay with us. Daniella assured be that this panel upgrade and bathroom rewire only takes 2 days. She asked me to take pictures of my old panel and scheduled a start date. Day comes for the panel upgrade and the 2 (James and Sergio)staff showed up at 08:30(30 minutes late) and looks at the panel and James says they can't do it. He looked confused and kept saying they can't do it--is as if this is the first time they have ever encountered this set up. Got a phone from Daniella, and she proceed to tell me that because if our set up she has to increase the original estimate to an additional $1300. At that point we felt stuck and agreed as king as they would start the project that day given that we have taken a day off work. Long story short, they spent half a day sitting in the their truck and my doorbell rang and said they cannot do the project after all. The bathroom was rewired but never hooked up to power. I went back and forth with Daniella as to when the upgrade will happen and unfortunately she never honored her word that this project will finish before Christmas. Instead she said it's my fault that I was rushing her even though I told her right from the beginning that I needed this project completed before Christmas. In the end, we decided to terminate business with them. If you need a reliable and honest electrical company to do your project then this is not the company to call. read more
