He cleaned my filter and tested my pool and went on with the rest of his busy schedule. The next day, I was given a reasonable estimate for ridding my black mold and for servicing my three pools. We hired James. It's been three months now and we are impressed and over satisfied with how James delivered. James spent a week working tirelessly to rid the black mold without having to drain our pool. We had a relapse after a few weeks and James went back at no additional cost and got it back under control. As far as our pool maintenance; each week we get an email from James with the results of the water testing, what chemicals he put in the pools to keep them at the right level, and a picture of our sparkling pools. Craig was professional, extremely knowledgeable, and upfront from the beginning. He initially quoted a very fair price for a like-for-like pump replacement -- much lower than the $12K quote I got elsewhere. I ended up upgrading to a 1.5 HP pump, which raised the cost a bit, but the installation was done well and everything worked great. Craig and his team did a solid job draining and cleaning the pool, and I appreciated the bundled pricing offer to keep costs manageable. Where things fell a bit short was in communication. The monthly pool cleaning service was quoted at $170, which felt a bit high, and when I asked about flexibility, communication started to taper off. I also didn't receive a walkthrough on how to use the new pump -- just the manual. Overall, Craig really knows pools and gets the job done efficiently. If the communication and follow-through had been a little stronger, this would've easily been a 5-star experience.

We hired another, licensed company who ended up having to re-do everything because it was not done correctly. We even found a work shirt with the owners' logo on it wadded up and blocking the return pipe. Because of all the delays, our pool became an algae-filled lagoon and we had to have it drained and acid washed. This job ended up costing 3x what we thought we would have to pay, but at least the other company finished it on-time. Avoid!

Where or where to start..... Well back in July of this year we signed with Mathew Gonzalez to redo…read moreour pool. He asked for a $6,000 deposit to start the work. We paid not knowing what laid ahead. By the first week of September the pool was finally starting the demolition phase where the coping and plaster were removed. This process alone took Mathew until October 22 to have completed. In the meantime we sent countless messages to him asking him when the work in our pool would continue. Many times he didn't respond at all or answer his phone. Every time he had an excuse as to why he was unavailable and promised to come soon to finish the job. This went on for 2 months. He continued to ask for more money even though very little or no work was being done. Fast forward to the end of October where we finally fired him for his incompetence in completing the pool renovation as agreed upon. We spoke to him and asked for some of our money back and he agreed to pay us back. What a joke! We have written him twice asking for a reimbursement since he never completed the project. He is refusing to respond. We fully intend to take him to small claims court. A week ago, we got a knock on the door by one of his employees. It appears that he hired this guy to do the pool demolition and never paid him a dime. Come to find out there are 2 other families that he did this to as well. All parties are filing suit against him. Please please be very weary with Mathew Gonzalez. He will say a lot and deliver nothing! He is a dishonest person looking to get money and that's all. If he has done this to you please go to court. That's the only way he will be stopped and not do this to others again. I take full responsibility for not checking into him before agreeing to have our pool completed by him. That being said, I just want to warn others not to fall for his lies and get taken advantage of. Our pool now has been completed by a very reputable company and it looks AMAZING!

I called Hot Tub Doctor because one of the lights built into the step of my spa started leaking…read morethrough the seal. The technician came out, replaced the light, and that part went smoothly. Not long after, the hot tub began leaking from another area. I understand that draining and refilling a spa can sometimes cause things to shift or dry out, so I had them come back. The techs were friendly and professional, and they tightened a couple of jets on the lounge chair side. Unfortunately, it was still dripping a bit afterward, and in retrospect it is obviously the adjacent jet on the same chair, why not tighten them all at the same time when they are in the same area? At this point, I'm just going to fix it myself it looks like the other jet on that same chair is the source of the leak and probably could've been addressed all in one visit. Overall, nice people with great attitudes, but the service could have been a bit more thorough and proactive.
