WOW! I wish I could leave a billion stars. Let me start out by saying I am a very active person. I lift weights 5-6 times per week and so am constantly beat up. I came into my appointment with TWO injuries. One more recent and very concerning to me. I had been treated by a DOCTOR for a month and let me tell you I left after my massage feeling amazing. The days after I had better range of motion than that darn doctor EVER gave me. Alicia was not only knowledgeable, but I really felt like she knew exactly how to help my injuries. I received a "combo" deep tissue (medium pressure) / Swedish massage from Katie. It was like an out-of-body experience. Just the right amount of pressure to work out the kinks but not so much that I was uncomfortable. Katie uses a technique which feels like she's connecting all parts of your body. I wanted to get my girlfirend a fantastic massage for her birthday, so I turned to Yelp and read all the great reviews about Revive Bodywork, and Katie. Based on these reviews, I bought a gift certificate, and my girlfriend came home from her massage RAVING about how great it was. We've both been back to see Katie, and have referred family and friends as well. I'm not a massage connoisseur so I don't have a lot of experience to compare to, but I can say that a massage from Katie is always incredible, and she always focuses on the parts of my body that need the most work. I recently had a nasty bike crash and hurt my shoulder, and along with plenty of rest and physical therapy, a massage from Katie has me feeling like a full recovery isn't that far away. I recently saw Kaelynn for the first time and she is a fantastic therapist! She spent time ahead of the massage asking questions about trouble areas, pressure, history, areas to focus on and getting to know me as a client. Throughout the massage, she made sure to check in on pressure and how I was doing. She has a great touch and uses a variety of techniques. Worth every penny!! Katie was extremely skilled, I left feeling so much better than I did walking in. The space is lovely, virtually no noise from the busy 32nd street below. Quiet, clean, and very comfortable. It feels like you are getting a massage at a luxurious hotel or someone's high-end home. Katie did a little of everything for me, although I booked a Swedish massage. The Ashiatsu was my favorite part, very different from every other massage I have had, and probably the most helpful. Katie is very deliberate with her hands and seemed to be able to read my body very well and respond with exactly the kind of pressure I needed. Believe the hype. You're seeing a ton of 5 star reviews for good reason. Honestly, I can't go anywhere else now because Katie's that much better and I feel like I get way, WAY more quality for the time/money spent. She's really down-to-earth and easy to talk to as well, so the appointments feel very relaxing from the moment you walk in to the moment you walk out. I'm guilty of being overly analytical when dealing with personal finances (read: I'm cheap as hell), but I feel 100% confident I'm making a good investment every time I schedule a massage with her. I usually come in pretty stressed out, and always leave feeling fantastic. If you're trying to find someone who knows what they're doing and has a gift for targeting and eliminating the aches/pains/stress, honestly look no further. This is the place you want to go. P.S. I started working for them in Feb '21 as a massage therapist. They are quite small (6 LMTs) and I soon had a consistent following. It was great that owners/mngmt gave me freedom to choose my schedule and seemed pretty down to earth as people. There were a couple bumps in the road with my employment- their cancellation policy favored the business, not the therapist, which they ended up changing. And communication was poor- mngmt would answer the phone half the time when I had a question on how to work the checkout system (there was no front desk). The owners also have very busy lives and it never seemed like they had the time to put into running a small business. In Oct '21 I missed 2 massages because I forgot to block my schedule. Serious mistake, but as a first occurrence, and with no prior disciplinary action against me, it came as a complete shock that they would fire me. There wasn't even a discussion. In fact, before they fired me, they asked me to work one more shift, then called me the next day and let me go. What an unfortunate end to my time there. If you are thinking of supporting this business or working there, please know how unfairly they treat their longtime employees. read more

Following a serious auto accident, I found myself struggling mentally and physically. A friend suggested that I try some Core Synchronism sessions with Eli. This turned out to be a great suggestion. I did not have a good experience here. I was having some neck pain so I scheduled a 30 minute massage today. I had been in several times before (at their old location) and always had a great experience but I had a different masseuse this time. Since we only had 30 minutes I asked if he could please focus on my sub-occipital area since that's where my pain was and maybe a little bit on my back. Unfortunately he spent about 2 minutes on the area requested. He was nice but I honestly felt like it wasn't a massage at all and was basically just rubbing lotion onto my skin for 30 minutes. Then towards the end of the massage he started beating/pounding my back (which I know is a technique massage therapists do) but it was really hard and hurt. With tip it ended up being $60 and I had to schedule another massage at a different studio (White Lotus Therapeutics) the same day just so I could get an actual massage. I felt that it was a complete waste of money and time. If you're looking for a good massage I would not recommend this place. read more

I've had many massages in the past and thought I knew what a good massage was, but after spending an hour or so with Katie at Revive Bodywork I found out what an AMAZING massage was. First off Katie is very friendly and very professional. Prior to the session she and I discussed both problematic or painful areas, along with areas that I had hoped to find pure stress relief. I went with a deep tissue massage, and within only a few minutes I knew I was in for an experience of a lifetime. Starting with her nice gentle touch I began to melt into the table. From a soothing and gentle touch she slowly transitioned into an extremely rewarding deep massage executed with pinpoint accuracy. It was then that my mind began to drift into an alternative mental state. During the massage I had 3 out of body experiences that were exhilarating, yet dreamy! After the session I was barley capable of speaking, I was that relaxed. With Katie's experience, coupled with her magic touch, most of my severe pain was either totally calmed down, or completely gone. Many, many years ago, I worked for a massage school in Florida. (Doing computer work.) It was a fantastic job, and ever since then, I've been searching for a therapist who is as good as the owner of that school. It's sort of become a holy grail, and I had started to wonder if I was just setting my sights to high, if maybe my memory of how good a good massage could be was distorted by nostalgia and time. Hands down, I have never received a better massage than from Katie. She listens before she starts, she listens as she works, and she targets areas that provide relief for me during and after my session. My upper back and my calves feel brand new after her work. She is worth every penny (plus a tip). If you can afford it, roll with the 90-minute session, or start out with the 60-minute deal to witness her skills for a first-timer discount, if it's available. I loved the Ashiatsu session I tried last year because of its pressure, but I'm the biggest fan of her sports massage getting firmly into the tissue, fascia, and muscle. Her customer service is also impeccable, and she makes people feel right at ease. I finally asked Katie after three sessions (I'd been embarrassed to ask any other person) if I was supposed to take my underwear off when getting a massage, and she professionally explained the benefits of going nude under the blankets. I think Katie at Revive Bodyworks is amazing, and I recommend her highly. Full disclosure: I'm partially a massage skeptic (although I've never told Katie this fact); multiple LMTs have explained their beliefs to me on what massage does for the body. Physiologically, I don't agree that massage releases built-up toxins from the muscles into the bloodstream, and I don't believe drinking a lot of water removes toxins in the bloodstream after a massage. I think hands-on massage is relaxing for many people because it's hands on, and I think it helps me personally when a masseuse loosens trigger points. I only get a massage once every 6-12 months, so feel (very) free to completely ignore my skepticism. Although I do love drinking lots of water. read more

I feel extremely lucky to have reconnected with Katie at her new location in the Highlands. I thought she was extremely talented when we first met a couple of years ago, and she has become even more amazing since then. In terms of physical space, her studio is in the heart of the Highlands and extremely comfortable both to find and to be in. It is a relatively large studio, something that I never really thought about (in small studios), but invites internal relaxation as well as physical. She is also quite open-minded about music selection, something which I enjoy quite a bit. Katie is full of joyful energy, and being around her is uplifting, even without massage. Her massage though, is incredible. Katie's hands are confident and intuitive, quickly identifying and evaluating areas of tension for the most effective strategy. She seems drawn to problem areas, something which I greatly appreciate, having a number of therapists in the past who seem to have a program that they prefer not to deviate from. Once she has identified a problem, she tackles it using whatever means is likely to be most effective. I find her style to be very sophisticated, incorporating elements of Swedish, deep tissue, trigger point, and neuromuscular woven together so subtly that the primary thing one notices is relief from even the most stubborn spots. I find this very refreshing compared with therapists who define themselves by a certain style and will use only that. I can say definitively and from experience that 60 minutes with Katie is more effective than 90 minutes with other therapists. Katie is also observant and knowledgeable, which allows her to give advice on other treatment modalities that may help specific issues. Katie is a rare talent and a wonderful person. Other reviewers have stated that she is the best in town, and based on my experience, I agree. Katie gets my highest recommendation, both personally and, as a physician, professionally. Three weeks out from a partial knee replacement and my physical therapist told me that my quad and hamstring on my right leg, the same leg that required surgery, were knotted up which was exacerbating the post-op pain in my knee. Compound that with the fact that my entire body was stressed from a major surgery and I decided I needed some serious body work. I found Revive and immediately called for an appointment. Scott, Katie's husband, was very helpful and set-up an appointment with ALICIA for the very next day. Alicia was extremely knowledgeable and has a fantastic body awareness. She was extremely sensitive to my surgery, working the areas that needed the most attention. She also successfully de-stressed the rest of my body, clearing out the accumulated toxins.
