Over 40 seats, and gobs of outlets, so you won't regret coming here to study or work. Location: Upper south hill off of 57th...So about 15 minutes from downtown. Worth the drive from anywhere in town to check out, as it is a unique place in the city. The most friendly staff! I advised the barista that it was my first time and he gladly went through their menu and flavor options. The barista also showed me their selection of hand made, hand pies. I wasn't feeling too adventurous so my order consisted of a hot Lavender latte and the Veggie hand pie. My other half ordered a mocha latte (extra shots of course) and the ham and cheese hand pie. The barista showed me the seasonal menu for Spring which was a Basil-Mint Latte and a Lemon Lavender Latte. I thought about it but was bold enough to order either. I think in time (if they are still available) I would go for it and see what it's all about. Honestly the highlight of this place for me, is those dang hand pies. Their simply amazing and are full of flavor. The décor at Revel is simple, except for their huge, and I mean HUGE, sign that's at an angle looking down at you when you first walk in. Another plus for me with Revel is their customized mugs. I am a sucker for a café that invest past the simple white demitasse cups. First impressions On a Thursday morning at 8:30 am sun was out, they had a number of customers in the shop, but no line. I was able to be served my Water Avenue Gold Seal Gesha Pour Over and my my what a treat!!! Generally speaking I find it crazy to spend more than $4 on a simple cup of black coffee, but that's exactly what I did here and it was worth the experience. The owners rang me in the cash register and made my pour over, the gentleman seemed pretty knowledgeable of his espresso machine and the coffee he was pouring me. For those of you who don't know, a Sparkling Americano is an americano made with seltzer water and is very thirst quenching for the hot summers here. Let's put it this way...my world traveling wife (mostly Italy & France) said "this is the best coffee I've ever had." I love the industrial vibe of this place. The coffee is on point and don't even get me started on the pastries! It also has a very balanced sense of space - not so big it echoes, but not so small it feels crowded. It's quiet enough both to study or to have a good conversation without shouting. Holy cow. Awesome place to sit and enjoy some quality coffee. They use Doma coffee, an excellent roaster located in Post Falls, ID. They also have other local roasters, to include Vessel Roasters and others on rotation. Bottom line, this stuff is good. My first drink was a pour over of their Banko Natural - Ethiopia. It was flavorful, bright, and definitely made an impression. My second drink was their Orange Spice Latte, one of their signature drinks. Forget your pumpkin spice latte obsession and just give this a shot; you won't be disappointed. It's a relatively relaxed atmosphere. There are plenty of patrons but the ambience is calm enough to get some reading or work done as well as some light conversation. It's also got a very sleek look to it. And just in case you forgot where you were, you'll see a big old "REVEL 77" sign overhead. Overall, I was very impressed. I do plan on coming back here and working my way through their menu. "Welcome to IKEA, can I get you an espresso?" Not impressed by the decor, cold and soulless. No local art or art to even speak of. The coffee was good, however the barista on shift was very full of himself and made sure everyone knew. I watched him make three lattes and then pour them don the drain, all in the name of "using up" some coffee. I am a business owner and I would rather throw a few beans away than make the finished product and dump it. If they keep this up, they won't last long. Excellent high-end coffee shop! Coming from San Francisco, this is like a little slice of home, but without all the hipsters. Very cool industrial space, with power outlets all over the place including a bunch running down the middle of the large communal table in the center of the room. Great for anyone with a laptop! Focus on single origin coffees and small independent roasters. Very good espresso - really nice rich flavor, and for those of you who like mochas, they make their own chocolate syrup which is delicious (I didn't ask for details on how it's made, but it does involve a small amount of milk if you're highly lactose intolerant). Great consistency on the steamed milk, even with the soy, and nice latte art. I love me some artistic coffee, and if you've never had a latte with properly foamed milk, you owe it to yourself to try it - you'll never go back to Starbucks. Friendly baristas too! Revel 77. This shop is a fabulous addition to the coffee scene in Spokane. The baristas are some of the best in town (arguably THE best after the last round of latte throw-down competitions). The shop itself is a great space, plenty of natural lighting with an industrial edge but still warm and inviting. The seating is comfortable, there are plenty of spots to plug in your laptop. I love the huge Revel sign hanging from the ceiling. It has a little bit of a reto feel to it. Their espresso is good. It's always a difficult balance when supporting local roasters and featuring single origins. Our region still has a ways to go in producing high quality micro-roasters. I have to admit that Victrola is one of my least favorite on the local scene but they're not the only option Revel offers. read more

Have driven by several times, and my teen daughter and I decided to give it a try. First impression - nice! The great atmosphere was a nice surprise - urban industrial stylish, with enough electricity outlets for laptop people to make you plug in and stay awhile. We tried the vietnamese coffee and shared a hand made apple pie, delicious. Also a nice surprise to find live music Saturday mornings - and we agreed, we'll be back to explore the menu and music further. Really friendly owners and nice service - I like that they brought our order to us us vs. other coffee shops where you have to stand around and wait. I absolutely liked the vibe of this place and agree with the other reviewer who mentioned, "once you try this place you'll become a regular" - I see exactly what he means - a great new hangout that is NOT Starbucks. Walked in and it was packed. Went to the barista and asked if they still had Viet Coffee (they didn't). After sadly being informed of this travesty, I asked the barista (tattooed and awesome service) to make me something. She made some kind of iced coffee which tasted like it was from the nectar of the Gods. The Wifi was surprisingly fast for the amount of people on it and it was quiet. The best coffee in town. I recently tried an over pour and am going to do it again. I love the vanilla-ginger syrup. It goes well in coffee or in an Italian soda! The service is ALWAYS done with a smile... Very pleasant team. I sometimes call ahead with my order when I'm in a rush and it's ready! If you need quality coffee in Spokane, this is your place. I've often said that it's a cruel joke places that serve Vietnamese coffee are not open in the morning. Revel 77 is the exception that makes it such a magical place. I was also pleasantly surprised that this is the best Vietnamese coffee I've ever had. Free WiFi, great pastries. I'm not a fan of onions, and they have the only bacon cheddar scone I've ever found that doesn't have green onion in it. Also, it is delicious. This place is pretty perfect. There are counters, tables, booths, and couches; PLENTY of spacious room to walk; a really nice, unique aesthetic (formalism and minimalistic at points, with some flourishes of art deco-esque pop art, and a mild industrial feel); and a very diverse, laid-back crowd. I will be coming back here quite a bit while I'm in town for work. EDIT: Came back again today (originally review is from yesterday) and got the potato tart. It is unbelievably good. Love this place. Unlike many coffee places, they have high quality decaf espresso beans. Lattes and mochas are awesome and the baristas are skilled and accommodating. Would give five stars if they had a little better variety of baked goods (a gluten free option or two would be great as well). Super cool little coffee shop on the south hill in Spokane! Easy to find and plenty of parking! My wife and I were meeting with some friends and we decided to meet at Revel 77 and we were not disappointed at all! Great coffee and friendly service was had by all! There is a LOT of table space in this shop and we saw many students studying with coffee in their hands. Towards the back is a small little couch area with two small couches and a table. This spot was perfect for our group of four! Nice atmosphere with good music and no overwhelming sounds or smells. Coffee was well made and displayed proudly with latte art. Great coffee. Pastries need a little help. Read about this place in the paper, loved the story and decided to check it out. Turns a customer bought the place because he didn't want to see it close down when the former owners were retiring. It's a bit of a drive for me as I live in North Spokane, but the coffee was delicious and worth it. It's located in a nondescript strip mall just east of the Starbucks and Subway on 57th. It's hard to see the signage from the street as you're heading east because the 77 blends in a bit. We really liked the atmosphere and decor inside the shop and the gal working the counter was happy, easy to talk to and a lot of fun. She even went so far as to bring the whole darn quiche out from the back for us to see how big the slices were because we were asking so many questions! The flavor of the crust was phenomenal. Just what you would expect from a quiche: flaky, buttery, melt in your mouth good. It wasn't a huge slice like you can get at Rocket bakery, but it definitely filled you up. I also ordered the giant cinnamon roll because I simply cannot resist a good cinnamon roll and it was disappointing. The whole thick, outside layer was super dry and crunchy. I prefer a softer dough with less crunch factor. But the middle was great and it wasn't overly sweet which I appreciated. I would have loved to see a bigger variety of pastries and to also have the quiche and savory hand pies displayed at the counter instead of messily handwritten on a piece of paper, but that's just me. Next time I'm hiking on High Drive I will have to stop in and try their cherry turnovers and buy some beans to take home. read more

Also, forget scouring the walls for the odd free outlet -- their communal table has a strip of them running down the center, so it's easy to plug in while you sip.
