Really cute coffee shop! I wanted to stop here since the building looked so inviting. I loved all the fun season drinks and ended up getting one of the seasonal spritzers. I enjoyed the colorful drink and that it wasn't too sweet. There was a lot of seats for people who wanted to sit too. Only reason I gave it 4 stars was the service was alright. Great coffee with lots of options for everyone. I tried a different Latte that I normally wouldn't have that had lemon in it and it was really yummy. I also ordered the peach waffles. Ehh.. it was alright, I wouldn't order their waffles anymore, it literally just tasted like flour/dough. Stick with the coffee. Has a big nice outside patio. read more

I took my FIL here and he couldn't stop RAVING about how amazing the quiche was. Flaky, tasty, perfection. At one point stated "this is 5 star restaurant quality" The service was good. I don't know if he was the owner or manager but he was so polite and brought the quiche right out and was helpful in getting utensils, napkins etc. the girls working were friendly as well. They also have their own packaged coffee as well as canned coffee. this is where I'll be taking my family and friends that are coffee drinkers. read more

I don't know how we missed this place on our previous trips to Coeur d'Alene, but this time, we were on the hunt for some good coffee and a bag of beans to make every morning during our 10-day stay. I was really surprised by how fresh and flavorful their beans were--and their lattes and cappuccinos were just as amazing. One cool thing is that if you scan their code, you can check out what they have right on your phone. Every latte and cappuccino we tried was outstanding. I like this place I reallllllyyy do. Everyone who works there is usually really nice the coffee is really good and the scones are incredible. I just cannot figure out why they don't put sleeves on their hot coffees. Every time we order a hot coffee they hand it to us. It's scorching hot and we ask for a sleeve. Went there the other day and it was 5x hotter than usual we asked for and waited for a sleeve but the coffe was far to hot and unfortunately dropped the hot coffee in the car and got burns. I know certain people would make a huge deal about this yell at the employee & probably try to make a quick buck. The sleeves on hot coffee should probably be mandatory so the wrong person doesn't drop their coffee. read more

Stopped by Union Roasters, early, on a Saturday morning - we were the first customers of the day. I snagged an Almond Milk Vanilla Latte and a drip coffee. The Drip Coffee Maker/Machine was still heating up, so we had to wait ~10 mins - which was fine. I also picked up a Gluten Free Oatmeal Bar (?). All of it was 'good.' I wasn't disappointed - would come back. I've heard the waffles are good - I didn't try it - but my friend, who had been there multiple times, said they're 'good' for a quick treat. The vibe is nice. The employees are nice. It's a chill spot. It doesn't have the stop in and study, work, etc. vibe, but feels like a good spot to hit the drive through or have a quick meet up with a friend. Union is one of the locations in town that frequently comes up with locals as one of the best brewed cups of coffee. I wouldn't call the baristas friendly, but most of them know what they're doing and I'd honestly rather have that. A simple americano or cortado is the way to go to get all the flavors, but they have lots of tasty seasonal lattes as well if that's your thing. Decor is current and bright, lots of windows and seating with plug ins if you're there to work/study. This is one of our top stops! read more

The location is nice, and it is quite cute. However, the service was sub par, the first barista I interacted with was dismissive, or at least uninterested at a time the place wasn't very busy. Odd, but not terrible. The total was just over $40 after I added a tip for two coffee and two waffles. The food and coffee itself were good, if it was a $30 total after tipping. My girlfriend was also disappointed in her coffee, which I wouldn't mention because I didn't try it, but she told me to! The presentation did not speak for a $40 tab, considering the food came without utensils, and the coffee in plastic cups. The second barista I had asked for a few napkins initially ignored me, and when I waited a moment she shot a quick look at me then I was able to ask again. I like what they're doing, and the menu has quite a few solid options. To me though, it gains its status from being in a good location midtown CDA, serves up to par waffles, and subpar coffee. The price points are fine- if tipping was not the norm. Unfortunately, the service certainly needs work. Perhaps this just isn't the spot for me, plenty of others talk highly of this place. read more

Amazing service and coffee. Close to the HWY - makes it real easy to stop in for a delicious cup before heading to the mountains.

From the outside it doesn't look like a whole lot, but once inside it's cleaned up a bit & the seating looks nice. My experience improved more & more from there. They know their coffee well & make comparable drinks to what you want if they don't have it. They gave me an incredible caramel latte, it smelled just right, but tasted awesome! You know those thin square caramels in a box of chocolates? The ones that snap in half? The blend of espresso & caramel tasted just like that! The waffles looked delicious, but I opted for the quiche & it was great. Bacon-spinach blended with cheese & a perfectly flaky crust. Tip: make a bacon, egg & greens waffle...I bet it'd be just as good as the quiche. My husband got his coffee on nitro & said it was good too. Next time I visit CDA, I will be going straight here. read more

Discovered this cute coffee shop on my road trip and was happy I stopped in. Yelp photos had me craving waffles for breakfast and I was a little disappointed to not see them on their printed menu, but upon asking them about it, the gal told me they did have waffles available and proceeded to tell me the daily specials. We opted for one that was sweet and one that was savory and split them so we could try both. The Maple pecan waffle was glorious with delicious Caramel, and the brie, bacon and jam was delicious as well! So good. Coffee wise, I got the vanilla bourbon latte which was delicious but pretty sweet for me. I think I definitely crashed from sugar overload a half an hour or so afterwards and would ask for less sweet next time, but definitely would return here again on my next drive through! read more

What a great cup of coffee! We actually came here the day before to try their cappuccino and decided on our way out of town to stop again and get coffee to go. We were chatting a few days ago with our server at a restaurant downtown about coffee/Cappuccinos and she recommended three places in Coeur d Alene and Union Roasters was number one on her list. I can see why. My cappuccino was one of the best I've had with rich bold flavor but not too bitter. The coffee, again, had rich and bold flavors. Both my husband and I also ordered blueberry muffins. Best blueberry muffin I've ever had! Their not stingy with their blueberries in this muffin and it's top with a light glaze. Seriously, grab one of these muffins! You won't regret it. :-) read more

Great for a sit down breakfast/coffee break, but also easy to pick up on the go. 5 stars for variety of baked goods (always a paleo option and a grain free option) and the coffee quality. Hadn't been for awhile, so thought I would give the 4 th street store a shot again. Unfortunately I was very disappointed at the quality of the drink. They do have good baristas, but it's hit and miss. Some of them should not behind the bar until training gets better. It's so aggravating to pay four bucks for a 8oz latte and end up not drinking it. This place is like, wow. Shane, the owner is an absolute stud. He was asking us where we were from and how long we were in town to which we replied two more days. He absolutely hooked us up with free coffees and waffles for next time just because. Coffee was great and so were the waffles and staff. Definitely coming back next year and referring family/friends as well. The blonde (Lead barista, maybe?) gal was very helpful in making drink recommendations and serving the food with expediency. The place seems awesome and I can tell they have an outside deck for nice weather use. I did not try any food - the sign says coffee and waffles and I am a waffle fan!
