Breakfast Chapin Blue Cloud/iced only Guate Latte/iced only

The food was so delicious! They had handmade tortillas that were so good!!! The restaurant is small but the service is quick. The coffee was delicious as well. It was an overall nice and welcoming environment and the owners were nice and very attentive. Definitely stop by! The parking in the front is a little hectic but there is a parking lot in the back that is empty.

As a Guatemalan, I'm usually pretty skeptical of Guatemalan restaurants in the United States. Too often they carry the name, but the food doesn't really capture the authentic flavors of Guatemala. Because of that, I came to Café Reu with modest expectations, but I was pleasantly surprised. The first thing that stood out to me was the concept. This isn't your typical Guatemalan restaurant--it's a café with a modern, aesthetic vibe and a very welcoming atmosphere. The space is beautifully designed, cozy, and definitely Instagram-worthy. As for the food, I'd give it a solid 7/10. Some dishes are well executed, while others don't quite match the authentic flavors I grew up with. That said, the presentation is excellent. It's clear that a lot of care goes into how each dish is plated, and that attention to detail really elevates the overall experience. What I appreciated most was the concept itself. Café Reu isn't trying to be just another traditional Guatemalan restaurant; it's offering a modern take inspired by Guatemala, and I think it does that very well. I'll definitely be back--and in fact, I'm already planning my next visit.

If I lived nearby to Reu Cafe I would be here everyday, idgof if I'm broke lol. I love that their menu has so many options, ranging from traditional Guatemalan antojitos to classic American breakfast. I loved their garnachas and although the flavor was a little more on the simple side, I didn't mind it at all because they are filling. I was more surprised with how tasty the croissant breakfast sandwich! The hummus and avocado made it a lot tastier than the typical American cheese. And they come with the crispiest, lightest diced potatoes I've ever had. Omg how did they make these without feeling so greasy?! I also sought to try to their matcha and it was so tasty - it definitely hit. I hardly drink caffeine but I would def come back to try more of their drinks since they have sooo many good options. Prices are very reasonable for the amount of food you get. The aesthetics here are so cute and the staff is friendly and chill. I'm so glad they chose Hawthorne as their home and I hope this place sees a lot of success in their future :3

As a Chapina, I am always looking for Guatemalan spots to support. The coffee was amazing- I had their signature Reu latte. The food was ok- I had garnachas and my cousin has the Chapin breakfast. Loved the Guatemalan images on the wall. Would come back. Oh- and friendly service!

found this cafe through an instagram ad but glad i did. the parking lot is pretty tight and most of the spaces are very compact. there is not much seating inside and garnered more towards solo diners or groups of 2. the breakfast chapin was not too heavy and it left me satisfyingly full. i like guatemalan tortillas because of their thickness and also the way they make their beans is a lot more palatable since it feels more like a sauce or paste rather than actual beans. also saw that you are supposed to put the cream on the plantains/bananas, which made it taste more savory than sweet. as for the matcha, i preferred the maple cinnamon matcha over the el quetzal as it has a stronger matcha taste. the el quetzal was a little on the sweeter side with the vanilla cold foam on top.

My favorite restaurant in the area. Guate and Reu latte is a must try. Their shucos are also delicious. Very friendly staff. Nice place to bring your family and enjoy traditional Guatemalan food. You can't go wrong with any of the breakfast items!

Loved Reu! I was so exited to finally try it, since we were in the area for the World Cup on my birthday! I cannot wait to go back. My husband got the chapin breakfast, everything tasted fresh and homemade.

This place had been on my list to try since it first opened but it's a drive from where I live so when I was in the area I finally decided to give it a try. When I arrived it was very full, you could tell that a lot of the customers were returning customers. I was there for about an hour and people kept coming in. I ordered an iced Reu latte and an order of tostadas. The tostadas were delicious. And they were ready very quickly. The decor was very subtle but nice. They hav paintings of Guatemala and it's beautiful to get reminders of Guatemala.

I really enjoy seeing new cafes popping up. The fact this is Guatemala inspired coffee even better. They have coffees, lates, small bites and full plates. We ordered two to share between 4 adults and it was plenty. Parking is enough but can be chaotic as there are several business in the plaza. Coffees are delicious. Staff is helpful and attentive. You can go solo or with a group.

Garnachas, Chuchitos, Pollo Frito con Papas

Amazing little café down the street from me! Food was amazing and service friendly. This place is a must see if you like coffee and want some place to sit down and have a good meal. Definitely recommend everything I ordered Garnachas, Pollo Fritos Con Papas, Tostadas Trio, and Chuchitos. The chicken is made fresh!

I came here based of tik tok recommendation, my review is now based off my second time here. To start the place is very plain. I think for a Guatemalan inspired cafe it is very lackluster. They could use so much color and inspiration from Guatemalan roots. The menu was decent, for a small cafe/menu wait time is quite long. Prices moderately pricey. It's a good place to wind down for a bit but does get quite loud so I wouldn't come for a homework or work from home day. I wouldn't try it again to see if things have changed.

I really like Urth Caffe. Quality is consistent across all locations I have visited. Their crunchy…read moregranola (not the puffed granola which I'll never understand) which you can purchase in coffee-size bags to enjoy at home is superb. It's my all-time favorite granola. Their açaí bowl is delicious but prefer the açaí bowls at Kreation. The only complaint I have (which is really a backhanded compliment) is that the line is usually long and slow-moving, however it gives you ample time to know what you want when you get to the register. Every location I've visited (Santa Monica, Beverly Hills, South Bay) has plenty of tables should you choose to dine-in. Love their teas and coffees!

Pit stop on the way to the LAX. My 2nd or 3rd visit. My…read morefirst visit had me confused. Where are we going? This random industrial area? Then you see valet parking. Ok...must be popular. So expect a wait to enter Sunday morning. Line moves quickly with 3 cashiers. Found a table, placed our number, got our self serve water & coffee. My iced special coffee drink was delivered. For the volume of people being served, it's pretty efficient. Our table ordered: 1) egg & cheese burrito. Very good. Average size. Not a jumbo as a Mexican restaurant might serve. 2) avocado toast with a poached egg. Nice entree. Again with the 2-1/2 to 3" slice of whole wheat black sesame toast. She's not a crust girl, but ate the inside portion. Excellent bread with ample avocado. Egg cooked as ordered. 3) potato hash with a poached egg. My son devoured & said it was really good. 4) prosciutto burrata cheese melt with side spinach salad. Great little sandwich. I little greasy since it was maybe panini pressed. Salad was dressed in an o/v dressing. Could have been punched up a bit with S&P. Son's gf didn't eat the basil & micro green garnish on the avo toast. Asked whether I could have it. Which I sliced up and added to side salad. A pro move cuz it was really kind of oily & one note. Yes, I understand it's a freebie side for a sandwich. The herbs added a lot to flavor this salad. Valet parking is $10 or street parking/near by grocery store lot. Upscale decor with brass accents. Read many low star ratings. Some may be completely legit. Except for one who complained about a $2 charge for an extra house made aioli/marinara sauce. Look...even fast food places charge for extra sauces. Yes maybe 10 yrs ago it might have been free. However, running a restaurant/large food service operations costs A LOT of money. Money for ingredients that are delivered in trucks who are paying more than $8/gal for diesel. Ingredients/supplies that hopefully all come from the US. If not it's extra tariff prices. Thanks to minimum wage increases even fast food workers make $20/hr. Also a smaller pool of workers thanks to ICE. If you're going to complain about restaurant pricing, stay home and cook. Cuz if someone else is doing it for you, it costs.
