    Seafood Risotto

Food was decent, I ordered the shrimp pasta and my husband ordered the seafood risotto. Restaurant was a little dark, lights were very dim.. good price on the seafood dishes and huge portions.

Hemmingway's was recommended to us and we loved it! Great atmosphere, great food...a true gem!

The location is simply amazing. Right on the beach overlooking the ocean - cannot get much better than that. We also were guests at the Hemingway Resort that the restaurant is attached too so our experience as a whole is 5 stars for the eco-resort. Breakfast is free for guests - it was a simple breakfast but still tasty. For dinner one night we also ate at the restaurant. I got the seafood platter for 1 and my bf got the salmon. We both agreed the food was good but not the BEST. However, the great customer service and friendly faces make up for it. There were also 3 cats roaming around which added to the cute factor (for me anyway). I definitely recommend for a cocktail or breakfast :)

Their Mexican coffee and cake bread changed my life. Their mariscos red pasta also changed my life. Geraldo the server is the best.

We went on a Saturday night and it was pleasantly relaxed, which made the whole experience even better. Alex took amazing care of us. He was attentive, kind, and always one step ahead, bringing things before we even had to ask. He also shared great insight about the restaurant and its background, which we really appreciated. The food was as delicious as ever. We always order the grilled octopus and it's a must every time, perfectly tender and full of flavor. This time we also tried a small shrimp ceviche that had a great balance of acidity and spice. We finished with the grilled fish, which was soft, fresh, and really tasty. I skipped the margarita this time, but they are also one of my favorite things to get here. We will definitely keep coming back.

I thought the fish was a little over-fried but my husband liked it that way. The grilled octopus was not overcooked, but in fact very tender, and cooked with this red sauce that made it very juicy. These were their two recommended dishes and I'm glad we got to try them. Just be careful with the water here (like any place in Mexico). I think I got sick because my drink had ice in it, which melted and contaminated my drink. Small mixed ceviche 10/10 - We were pleasantly surprised by the serving size ("THIS is a small?") I hardly drink and did not get even a baby buzz from the drink. The Margarita was OK. The service was OK. Each drink was $300 MXN or around $17 USD. Maybe I visited on an off day? There's plenty of other places in the area, this place would be a last resort.

The avocado doesn't really do much for the rest of the taco, but sauced up its a 6.8/10 Mushroom Taco - I couldn't stress enough about my partiality to vegan food. I adore the texture and the taste. I feel they put all the effort on this taco. 8.7/10 Al Pastor - It's nice and juicy. The the pineapples are present. Taste does fall a little short from the ones I've had before. 7.6/10 Service was pleasant. The ambiance was a total vibe. I would definitely recommend. The best food I've had in Tulum two years in a row! Simply amazing!…read more Wow - I thought maybe I just remembered last year through rose-colored glasses - no, this place is magnificent. First, the vibe is basically perfect. Feels exotic, is clean, the staff is fun, and the live music is the finishing touch. Second, without a doubt the best food we had in Tulum during our week there this year, and my week there last year. House Salad - I never knew I needed goat cheese ice cream on a salad but I'm telling you it was AMAZING! My girlfriend had the Octopus in marinade. She gets the Octopus everywhere we go. It was very tasty and not overcooked like is often the case. I had the Catch of the Day, Sea Bass. I have the fish of the day everywhere I go (live in St Petersburg, Florida, so I'm a seafood junky). It was, again, like last year the best fish dinner entree I had in Tulum. That's between about 12 different places I've eaten at in Tulum spanning the poshest hotel zone restaurants to the most reviewed and highly rated places in Centro in town. It was mouth-wateringly good and flawlessly prepared. I highly suggest trying the Mexican Tea cocktail - a refreshing, but not overly sweet, well-balanced drink that I loved and my girlfriend switched to despite it not being anything like what she would normally order. Last - I worked in restaurants starting at 15 through my late 20's including the most upscale place in the entire city. I got good enough to find gigs helping train staff during new openings. The service we received was remarkable, yet causal and fun. Commendable and appreciated.
