One of the best parts of eating here is the feeling that you're right in the kitchen. I tried the tetelas and the short rib, and both were fantastic. The tetelas had that comforting, handmade feel with rich, local flavors. The short rib was ridiculously tender, full of smoky depth, and easily one of the highlights of the night. Kitchen Table's reopening feels like a win for Tulum. Whole grilled octopus -- absolutely incredibly prepared. Tender, so much flavor, and the potatoes are delish. Deep fried soft shell crab taco -- favorite bite! This thing is HUGE! All four of us got one and loved this most. Shrimp molcajete -- think Mexican gravy with seafood. And some fried cheesy stick things that oozed and the cheese just didn't stop! The food was as delicious as ever. We always order the grilled octopus and it's a must every time, perfectly tender and full of flavor. This time we also tried a small shrimp ceviche that had a great balance of acidity and spice. We finished with the grilled fish, which was soft, fresh, and really tasty. It was very tasty and not overcooked like is often the case. I had the Catch of the Day, Sea Bass. I have the fish of the day everywhere I go (live in St Petersburg, Florida, so I'm a seafood junky). It was, again, like last year the best fish dinner entree I had in Tulum. That's between about 12 different places I've eaten at in Tulum spanning the poshest hotel zone restaurants to the most reviewed and highly rated places in Centro in town. It was mouth-wateringly good and flawlessly prepared. I highly suggest trying the Mexican Tea cocktail - a refreshing, but not overly sweet, well-balanced drink that I loved and my girlfriend switched to despite it not being anything like what she would normally order.
