We have used several soil products from Specialty Soil. Three years ago our soil was dead! No…read moreworms, just an acre of gray, sandy and rocky despair. Every plant died or was suffering a slow death. Specialty soil came our home and did a soil analysis. The results showed our soil was 76% sand with almost no organic matter. That explained why we didn't have any worms... no organic matter for the worms to eat. We also had a serious mineral imbalance. Early spring Specialty Soils mixed up a custom mix of compost to address our very crappy soil. By the end of summer... we had worms and our newly planted plants were thriving!!! Every spring we add a beautiful layer of specially mixed organic mulch and in the fall we add a layer of well cooked manure. This has been a very successful process for us. Our soil is faithfully amazing! You can have complete faith and trust in the products created at Specialty Soil. It seems foolish waste money experimenting on your own trying to figure out why your soil fertility is off. Hobart Farms is our latest destination and our experience with them has been beyond five stars. Jessica, Domenic and Lilly have helped us so far - advising us about alternatives for bare spaces, recommendations on how to arrange new plants in a new garden, planting, feeding and lots of encouragement! We are hopefully close to done purchasing what we need to plant this season, but we are looking forward to our spring visits to Hobart Farms for more perennial fillers and annuals to fill our pots and other small spaces. If only they could help us hypnotize the squirrels to stay away from our tulip bulbs - well, that would be a six star review. Their indoor insulated greenhouse has an abundance of indoor house plants. We are not purchasing for indoors, but the selection they have is amazing!
