It turned out to be a leak that soaked two walls, and I had to find help fast. Oregon Restoration replied to me immediately while other companies took hours to respond. Their friendly office staff calmly walked me through what to expect in the process and sent help that day. Danny arrived right on time and was friendly, professional, and thorough. He let me look at his instruments as he assessed the extent of the damage, shared pictures with me, explained what they would do and helped me understand next steps. After that as I was traveling, he kept in contact with me to make sure I knew what was happening at home. He also worked with my roommates to help them understand what was happening and arrange work visits. Every person on his team was respectful and helpful, and they checked the progress of the drying process regularly. Danny worked with my insurance adjuster to make sure everything went forward smoothly. I found the team helpful, responsive, and diligent, and I've contracted with Oregon Restoration for the repair portion of this journey as well. Thanks so much Danny! This would have been a nightmare without you.

They arrived incredibly fast (within an hour of my 6 a.m. call), set up dehumidifiers, and prevented the situation from becoming much worse--like "loss of structural integrity" worse. On Monday, they followed up, which was a lifesaver because the washing machine had also started leaking after all the laundry I'd used trying to clean up the great flood. That turned out to be another issue entirely, and I was about to be out of town for a while. They scheduled a checkup to address it, and I'm looking forward to their visit on Monday. While the circumstances that led me to rely on DRYmedic weren't ideal, every experience I've had with their team has been exceptional. (When i asked about the thousands of dollars they charged for 'hepa vacuuming', they told me it was to protect the health and safety of their employees when they have the big fans running. Later i learned it's actually the last part of their tidying-up process when they finish a job.) 3) They will ghost you. (When i asked why they had charged me thousands of dollars for equipment well beyond the industry standard, they stopped replying to my emails.) 4) They will trash your home. (After all my walls were ripped out, the workers had trouble finding working outlets for their equpment. One of their workers flipped a bunch of switches in my breaker box, even those clearly labeled 'refrigerator' and 'furnace', and never reset them. Since i was not able to live in my house at the time, it was most of a day later when i discovered that my house and refrigerator had both reached an unpleasant 48F. When asked about it, they tried to blame workers for another company who weren't even in my home that day.) 5) They will provide inaccurate and incomplete invoices. (At first they refused to provide me any invoice, just an email with a dollar amount and an address. When i insisted, they provided various invoice-like documents of varying quality. I have three different invoice amounts for the same job, only one of which aligns with what they billed my insurance company. Heck, one even includes things my insurance company paid for, which seems criminal to me be I'm not a lawyer so that's just an opinion.) I deeply regret letting them bully me into paying them by their arbitrary due date, foolishly thinking that since their own experts admitted the services were unnecessary they would reimburse me. Instead, I've spent months asking for any explanation, and gotten everything from verbal abuse to silence, but nothing like answers.

If this was too small a project, just letting me know would've been great. Assuming the tenant talks to the landlord is an assumption. Asking me to take measurements and order the door is part of a contractor's job, sorry. Repeat this situ several times with contractors that can't communicate, it took me 3 MONTHS to fix a damn door. Save yourself wasted time and find a contractor that keeps you informed.
