The best meal of the holiday.
Not even just the best meal, the Ancora provided the best atmosphere, service and quality of food out of every restaurant we visited. The menu is small and the fish options are regularly changing and updating as to what is fresh catch that day.
This meal was for my girlfriends birthday and I had popped in a few days before to book the table and to ask if I could arrange for a birthday 'token' for the girlfriend. I had a cake with a candle in mind but Daniel, head waiter and son of the Chef arranged for some fresh flowers to be set on the table as we arrived - a fantastic touch and one greatly appreciated!
On to the food! My girlfriend and I both fancied Seabass so we opted for the large fish to share, this came with potatoes and fresh vegetables. The best part is that they come and Fillet the fish right in front of your eyes. Daniel, head waiter, used just a fork and a spoon to perfectly remove the fish of all bones and place some fantastic Seabass on our plates.
Perhaps one of the higher end places in Burgau but most definitely worth the money. Bread starter, Fish dinner for 2 and a bottle of wine set us back €63 euros. €63 euros well spent. read more
