Upon arrival, you can tell they were wrapping up for the night. I had the veg soup, which was really good. I then ordered the beet dumplings in gorgonzola sauce (that isn't what they were called). I for some reason was thinking that I was getting a beet ravioli. Either way, it was SO good. SUPER heavy and filling but good. Good enough that I was tempted to go back another day for more but with the limited time we had in the area, I wanted to try other places. My husband had the spinach and pecorino (?) ravioli that is native to that area in a butter sauce. They were good too but mine was better! LOL. We shared the chocolate salami for dessert. It was drier and dense but good-more his thing than mine. I think it had small pieces of bread in it or cake. Not overly sweet or rich. I would definitely return here. I have already been trying to find a recipe for the beet dumplings - they were that good! This place won't disappoint.

Plus there was approx. 30 cheeses at the salad bar to choose from, it was crazy! It is a bit formal, though I saw people dining that were dressed casually as well. The dining room is nicely done with a great view. They start you with a small plate of meat and cheese - literally one of each for each person, which is nice. They served bread with house made butter, which was really good - I don't normally butter my bread but this was too good to pass up! Then I had the salad bar. They then brought out a cold octopus salad- nothing I would have ever ordered but thanks to this experience, I will be in the future! I had the osso bucco with risotto, which was a special that day. It was good but I've had better. My husband had house made pasta with lobster. He also thought it was good, but not great. We then shared the dessert buffet. There was tiramisu, different varieties of chocolate and cookies as well as a berry cream dish and profiteroles in a chocolate sauce. Though I would only rate most of the food as good to very good, I think the variety, service and setting really made it a great experience.

They also brought us a cold-cut meat plate, grilled shrimps and an assortment of sweets and chocolates on the house. Every plate comes as a piece of art work. The service was quick and efficient. Recommended.

Shortly after, another staff member treated us coldly and told us that without a reservation we would not be served, despite what we had just been told. One person at the bar was kind, but overall the experience was not welcoming. Unfortunately, we cannot recommend this place.

The chef recommendations we had were all nice, including the tuna and swordfish carpaccio and the different seafood entrees we chose. The pizza was also very nice. Some of the staff were friendly and more attentive than others. We understood that we went on a busy night, but two tables who were seated quite a while after us both got their meals a long time before we did. Our appetisers took 70 minutes and our entrees took about 85 minutes to arrive. We asked about the food about an hour in and were told "it's very busy, you need to be patient". Only when we pointed out about the other two tables having eaten did our food arrive. BEWARE; they charge €6.50 for tap water! We questioned it and the woman said "it's not like America, it's normal here". Firstly, we are English and French, not American. Secondly it was our third night in Germany and our seventh time dining out and this was the ONLY place that charged for tap water! The food is also more expensive than anywhere else we ate at in Fussën. Good food but poor service from some of the staff. We went for dessert elsewhere.
