I for some reason was thinking that I was getting a beet ravioli. Either way, it was SO good. SUPER heavy and filling but good. Good enough that I was tempted to go back another day for more but with the limited time we had in the area, I wanted to try other places. My husband had the spinach and pecorino (?) ravioli that is native to that area in a butter sauce. They were good too but mine was better! LOL. We shared the chocolate salami for dessert. It was drier and dense but good-more his thing than mine. I think it had small pieces of bread in it or cake. Not overly sweet or rich. I would definitely return here. I have already been trying to find a recipe for the beet dumplings - they were that good! This place won't disappoint.

They have a range of pizza, pasta and meat dishes and all are excellent and not overly priced. The pizzas are particularly good and they have some topping mixes that aren't to be found in other pizzerias in the area. The service is always good and the place seems to be usually staffed by southern Italians so it has an authentic feel to the place.

The restaurant looks so cute and cosy, the staff is very attentive and really friendly - not a given in Italy! The food was amazingly good and homemade. The prices - compared to what we ordered - were very reasonable. As we come to South Tyrol every year for skiing, I am sure, we will come back to the Adlerkeller as well!

Black Hill is located on the main street in Colfosco and you can't really miss it as it has a look of a biker's pub. Inside it is a casual bar with tables which doesn't feel like a pizzeria and the bar drinkers are right at hand throughout. They aren't imposing though and the atmosphere in their feels comfortable. The pizzas are good and cooked in a traditional wood fired oven so the bases are always perfect. The Capriciossa is particularly good as is the Quattro Stagione. Steer clear of the dessert though which are all frozen and then cooked to order and I'm sure I could have made better myself.

The banner can't be that effective though as it's rarely jam packed although it is popular. It functions primarily as a pizzeria although they do have other dishes. The prices are extremely good for the standard of pizza and as it isn't a huge place it always feels cosy and welcoming. The owner who is usually behind the bar is a little sour looking but harmless and the young staff who work there more than make up for him and are courteous and good at their job. Watch out for the parrott on the way in though as the squawk it lets off when you open the door has scared many a customer.
