Monday 7pm, we were seated without any reservations. Terrace was a bit chilly but maybe this was the usual temperature for July. Bilingual wait staffs as I heard many guests seated speaking English to the wait staffs. Quick service and food quality was good. It is a pizza place but we did not get any. Sliced beef was cooked to medium rare, which was fantastic. Needed to salt and black pepper to taste. Very tender meat. Ravioli with beets was also very good. Another gem in the heart of Cortina! Right down town, offering salads, pasta, and 4 pages of different pizzas!!! I really enjoyed lunch at 5 Torri, which takes it's name from the 5 towers on the surrounding mountainside. The restaurant has a small cottage feel with lots of wood on the interior, hand made wood chairs, and benches for seating, as well as a large covered porch for additional dining. Wait staff, was a bit rude with foreigners, which is something I struggle with, especially if you're working in a tourist town, but otherwise, had a great meal, and enjoyed our visit. I got the spinach and ricotta pizza, which was big for a personal pizza, but I made it work. My fellow diners got a salad, which was enormous, and ravioli, which I'm told were tasty. We swung through here for dinner. We showed up 10 minutes before they opened, and were able to be seated right away. The inside of this place is awesome - feels like a true mountain restaurant. They have fun details (such as the mountain range in the backs of the chairs) and a nice interior. They also happen to have some traditional food on the menu, such as the beet ravioli - and you just have to try it. It was incredible. We also had some carbonara and salad, which were also both very fresh and delicious! Note, there is a fee to sit inside, and a slightly higher fee to sit outside. I had high hopes for 5 Torri. Our tour guide had listed 'good Pizza' on most places but wrote 'very good pizza' for 5 Torri. We arrived and received a table all the way in the corner in the back room. I didn't mind the location because it was bright and warm, but it did make us feel forgotten sometimes. We ordered a mixed salad and two pizzas. One was called napoli which was cheese, oregano, and anchovies. I personally do not like anchovies, however, the oregano made the pizza so flavorful that I kept stealing parts of my dad's pizza. The other pizza was called capricciosa which had cheese, ham, olives, mushrooms, and artichokes. It lacked flavor. It felt like it was incomplete. If they added oregano or something spicy, it would be the much needed finishing touch. Also, the olives were not pitted. That was not a fun surprise. The crust itself was so-so and a bit soggy in the middle of the pizza. Two things that stood out about the pizza: oregano and fast delivery to the table. The mixed salad is large and can be shared. Lastly, we ordered Apple strudel for dessert. This too did not deliver on flavors. It was a weak dessert. The service was lackluster. I had to get up to ask for dessert and for the check because no one was coming around. If you're looking for little wait time for food and want an affordable dinner, 5 Torri is fine. Just don't expect full flavors or good service. read more

We had lunch here, and I spotted a soup that was native to the Tyrol region - canderli, which are like large dumplings in chicken broth. It was delicious and comforting. I also had a large insalate estiva - it had corn, lettuces, hearts of palm, and tomatoes. The service was prompt! My husband had the margarita pizza, and it was good also. read more

We arrived at 07:45, we were seated immediately. Our waiter was in his early to mid twenties. He did not greet us warmly, we said "Buono sera". He said "Hello" curtly. We placed our drink order and another young lady brought our order to the table. Also somewhat curt. We were thinking maybe they were really busy. The table next to us was seated. 3 British fellows. They were treated the same way. Then the table to our right was seated with 2 Italian men. All of he sudden our busy curt waiter was smiling, greeting them warmly and chatty even. During our Mea He never checked on us to see if we needed anything. Never offered us any more beverage when our glasses were empty. Never even offered us dolce! When we asked for the check I tried to engage him in conversation to see if there would be any redemption for a tip. He looked annoyed I asked the maker of the house wine , he did answer and then walk away. Now we understand fellowship amongst your citizens, but it made us feel odd, uncomfortable, unwanted. This is a TOURIST town. If you don't like tourist don't work in the heart of that area. I would not return to this restaurant, nor recommend it to fellow travelers. Large nice and informal restaurant. It is well organized so doesn't feel too big or too small. The service was great - helpful for choosing dishes without feeling pushy. Five star for consistency. We went there with the kids about 3 nights the same week. Strengths are location, nice terrace, price very reasonable and fast! Also kids friendly, they brought us colours, toys etc. food really good we tried: pizza, polenta and salsiccia, cotoletta, potatoes alla ampezzana with bacon and onions (amazing), stinco di maiale, huge portion. Good job guys, for what you pay this is the place to be. Also enjoyed the service, and to be open all these years and still have the line out of the doors, that means something.
