In each city on our Italian tour SIL carefully researched restaurants with a good selection of Gluten Free food. This was surprisingly easy in Italy! This place was a real find, and we ate here several times. DGD the Elder was in heaven with her own pizza with a homemade crust. I settled in quickly with Carbonara... the best on our trip... creamy perfection. We hosted our Italian family here on our last night in the Dolomites. It didn't hurt it was on the perimeter of a gorgeous high mountain lake!
This is probably one of the only good places to eat in the area. As a result, there's a long line when they open at 7 pm. Requires green cards or vaccine card to enter. The menu inside is on QR code so you can pick the English version. We got the soup of the day (minestrone), truffle pizza ($13), and a meat dish. I thought the pizza was good, but a little disappointing. I was expecting a more truffle taste, but the flavor was barely there. There was a lot of other mushrooms on top though. With how little other options there are in the area, I'd say this restaurant is pretty solid. Inside was very wilderness-cabin decor, with a lot of animal heads on the wall. Plenty of seating.
We had a fabulous lunch experience here. It was quite busy and we almost left. Then, we decided to just figure out how to get a table and enjoy some lunch. Our pizza's were typical northern Italian pizza's, with thin crust, not too much sauce, and all different kinds of toppings. I enjoyed a glass of wine and the view of the lake. I love this part of Italy because everything has a very Swiss, German, Italian look to it. It was a long drive through the mountains for us to get there, but if I was in the area I'd go back for sure.
Popped into town after a day of hiking nearby and were looking for something simple for lunch. There's a strip of restaurants near the parking lot and we ultimately chose this one as it seemed busy with a large menu. We grabbed the soup of the day-orzo-which needed much much more seasoning. Grabbed one of their pastas, which was fine (better than the orzo), as well as a pizza that was probably the best part of the meal. It's unclear to me who gets baskets of bread as it seemed very random. The seating system is a mess. You get a number and they call out numbers randomly if you're waiting outside. Our number was certainly skipped but when I asked why I was told it had been announced a bunch (which I have a tough time believing since we heard all of the other numbers and were sitting immediately outside...). Once seated, the service itself leaves a fair amount to be desired as it seems like they're too busy for their own good. The bathrooms were nice, which was convenient. And there was free Wifi, which made the 15-20 minute wait not terrible. There aren't so many options in the immediate vicinity so I'm not sure how the others compare. Ultimately, it was a fine choice. read more

GO HERE IF YOU CAN!!! Loved the food here and the unique feel and experience here! This is a family owned restaurant and they are so kind! Their food was amazing and I would definitely come back if I was in the area! They had cool circle shaped French fries that were really good with their lamb! Everything had amazing flavor and was an amazing portion size! The side salads were the best I've had ever for a side salad! read more

This place is fantastic. They have many options for pizza. The caprese salad was amazing. The spaghetti with ragu was excellent. The gnocchi was also very good. The top it off the tiramisu is homemade and amazing!! read more
