Love, love, love Kazumi! I've been going since they first opened. Let me tell you that they are always consistent and food NEVER disappoints. The food is always fresh and tastes so good. You have to try all the specialties on their menu! Everything is so exquisite. I love their salmon tartare, it's to die for and no other restaurant beats Kazumi for their tartare!!! They have fresh unis from time to time and they're super huge! This place gets crowded very fast, i suggest you reserve a few days in advanced to avoid disappointment. Do not come to eat here if you are in a rush. They take their sweet time to make sure everything is perfect. Do not forget to BYOB! There's an SAQ right next to the resto, which is pretty convenient! Try the "mille feuille glacé & ecstase au chocolat" for desert! Mouth watering!!!

One of the best sushi restaurants in Montreal! The best part is that it's a byow. Service is friendly and the good is delicious. The only thing is that food might come out pretty slow. Not good for you if you are starving, in a hurry to eat or time limited. A meal typically takes at least 2 hours there.

My favourite to-go sushi place in Montreal!! The owner Thang D. is really sweet and welcoming. The waiters give a really good service. We put down our glass of water and someone is already there pouring in some more water!! I went here with a group of 18 people on September 24th 2016, and we all got served and left within 3 hours to go on our karaoke night. I highly recommend the lobster roll again, it's really my favourite. Since it was birthday, I took the liberty to choose the chef suggestions (I can't tell you which rolls I had, but I have pictures of a few). Again, the BYOW with the SAQ that is 30 seconds walking distance is really a + !! And I love their chocolate/Nutella fried bites with the ice cream, it's really amazing. They mad me a Bday greeting on my desert (offered by the restaurant). I recommend to reserve for Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays !! It gets busy really quickly. *** I forgot to mention!! I saw Veronique Cloutier and her husband as well as her sister and her husband here last year! Hehe

The best Sushi that I have ever had. Try the Chef Menu. It is amazing, each dish is different and awesome. The fish is so fresh. Don't forget to bring your wine. There is a SAQ just beside.

It was my first time and I love the vibe of Kazumi sushi lounge. To hangout with your friend or other its nice. You.can bring your alcohol the SAQ just beside. You have so many choice and option of eating combo or no you found what you can pay for it. Better if you reserved first because its always full...

Very good. The presentation of food is excellent, although in my preference I like to taste less the sauce and more the seafood. I love the scallop even if it's around $20 each. Very satisfied, service is excellent; the waiter present each of your food in a very professional aka fancy-like. Also major key is that you can bring your own wine!!

Specialty rolls are lovely for their presentation

After reading all if the reviews I had high hopes for this place, and they didn't disappoint. We started with a house salad and Miso soup accompanied by the Spicy octopus salad. These 3 dishes were honestly under-whelming. The Miso soup was plain and uninspired as were both salads. Once this course was over everything got much better. The Salmon Tartar was fantastic...spicy and rich with great textures served with rice cakes. This was followed by an assortment of sashimi and rolls that are the basics that you would expect from a high end sushi restaurant. The final course had 2 specialty rolls including a lobster roll and a strawberry-scallop-shrimp roll. The 2nd roll was exceptional in its sweet mixture of flavours. All in all well worth the time and money.

Ordered the miso soup, chef special salad, heritage, fruita, and fantacy soya paper rolls. The salad is pretty refreshing, nice, and the miso soup is creative and good too. The heritage roll is pretty good and creative, but the other two are kind of disappointing, not recommended at all. The environment is pretty nice and the waiter is very nice too. Everyone speaks French as the first language, but they understand English as well.

Food is awesome; fresh, delicious, and artfully displayed. However, the service is slow and erratic. Avoid Saturday nights and big groups (I did both). Also, parking is difficult.

Decent, bit far from the best sushi in MTL. A bit overpriced for the level of quality you get, and also quite noisy.

We showed up at 5:30 without a reservation and I wasn't sure we'd be able to snag a table. And honestly, if we had gotten there 15 minutes later, we probably would have had a long wait. So far, so good. We were seated at a table near the sushi bar and there was a vibration coming through the floor that was loud and a bit unpleasant. The prices were a little high which was a little off putting. But, we saw a couple of options - like a sushi boat - on their website ... but it turns out that is only for takeout, which is just weird. Service was slow and the wait staff disappeared at times. Normally, these things would have me deducting stars. But can I just say that the food was so darn good that I can overlook all of it. It was absolutely outstanding. Vegan sushi rich with umami. Rich with flavor. We didn't miss the fish.

I really appreciate the ease of booking and how I didn't have to think about what people were going to order. One hiccup was that I had indicated ahead of time that one of the guests had a seafood allergy, which I understand can be difficult for Japanese restaurant. I had expected them to tailor the $70 menu to her, however, they let us know that it was gonna be difficult and instead asked her to pick from the à la carte menu. She had no problem with this, but I felt bad and didn't want her to think that I had an indicated ahead of time of her dietary restriction. Overall, the meal was good. It was a little bit slow to start coming out. I think our total dining time was over two hours which was fine because we were celebrating something but for the first 30 minutes I feel like no food came out. A little bit on the salty side, but I enjoyed every dish. For the price point I think it was perfect. I would recommend this for a group dinner again. The high top tables weren't the most comfortable for such a large group as we were essentially split in two, but for a group of 6-8 it would be perfect!

We showed up on time for our reservation. The restaurant is dark, and sleek looking, so it could be a place for dinner or for drinks at the bar. We browsed the menu, and decided to go light and ended up trying the the following: - Edamame (with Furakake): Good. Soy beans can only be so different between restaurants. I will note that some of the soy beans we got were the biggest I've even seen. Furakake added needed flavour. - Avocado Truffle Tacos: OK. Quite tiny, but well made and tasted good. I didn't get any hint of truffle though. - Wagyu Dumplings: Good. But similar to any good quality non-wagyu dumpling I've had before. Overpriced. - Paradise Maki: Good. I like the texture of the tempura. - White Dragon Maki: Very good. I think the ponzu sauce elevates this dish another level. Service was pretty standard. Did all the tight things, and timely, but not particularly friendly. Overall, it was an OK visit. Food overall was generally good quality, but very expensive for the quality and quantity you get. But I also recognize that sometimes you pay for ambiance, and you certainly do here.

Located on the 45th floor, you can get beautiful panoramic views of the city, including of the St. Lawrence river. Highly recommend stopping by to watch the sunset transition into nighttime. Now onto their menu- I was expecting a bit more food options, but they really only have light bites/appetizers, so I'd eat elsewhere beforehand. I ordered the Wagyu brioche, which was incredible, but I wasn't as impressed with the crispy hosomaki, which was overly salty and didn't have that much dimension of flavor. The drinks were incredible and innovative though, incorporating authentic Japanese flavors and three eras of Japan's history. Tables are tightly situated and there's a cozy bar situation where I sat this time, able to watch the chefs cook right in front of me. The daily specials are posted on their Instagram page, as well as written on pieces of paper around the restaurant. My server quickly helped me to water and a glass of sake. I placed a to go order for one of the daily specials, the grilled sea bass with sushi rice and salad, with some kimchi. I also ordered the BBQ chicken with tortilla and salad, as well as vegetable gyoza. Everything was incredible. Truly. The gyoza came topped with green onions and was SO crispy and hot and was perfect with their soy sauce. I thought sea bass was wonderful with a unique almost smoky flavor that melted in my mouth paired with the slightly sweet sticky rice. The barbecue chicken was great as well and better the next day. One thing I don't really understand is why they served plain flour tortillas cut into quarters with their food. We didn't utilize this, nor the white butter/mayo sauce that came alongside it. Green beans were everyone's fave, but I have to mention the (pickled?) vegetables on the salad. So flavourful! Also tried the egg drop soup which is so tasty. Mains were the salmon tuna bowl, the beef short ribs, the shrimp burger, and 48 hour pork with curry sauce. Everything was wonderful! Finished with their soft serve ice cream, I had the cherry blossom but one of us had the sake, which is a shot of sake poured on top. Amazing! You can even have wasabi or ginger... We did the Regular Omakase Experience between 2 people and it was a great way to taste all the popular items and then filled in with a la carte options. Regular Omakase Experience: (1) Edamame - Opted for this instead of Miso Soup (2) Crispy Gyoza - Perfectly crunch and paired very well with the almond butter-kimchi sauce (unexpected good!) (3) Mangoo - excellent flavors (4) Orenji - excellent textures (5) Rock & Roll Spicy - the apple in here was unique and delicious (6) Kamikase Somon - the texture of the vegan salmon was not for us (7) Avocat - similar to an avocado roll (8) Brownie - very rich and dense, wasn't for us. A La Carte Options: (1) Arancini - their sauce made this extraordinary (2) Mr.Crunch Roll - If you're not a truffle fan, this may not be for you (3) New Delhi - pakora meets sushi PS: Make a reservation.
