You walk in and know this is for people in the food industry! It can be hectic to get around at times and sometimes the 1 item out of a box vs the whole box gets a little tricky but it's nothing to really worry about. They have everything you could possibly need for your business and then some! read more

Overall, I've been fairly happy with RD. They have what I need most the time. I usually have to ask for my formal pepperoni off the top shelf because it's rarely stocked down low. Everything else, I usually find just fine. I've had rude associates and very nice ones. I find their checkout process problematic. The majority of the time I wait is because the cashier is waiting on the manager to come check off all the stuff. This makes things very slow. And the last person who can tolerate slow is a restaurant owner. I go to RD for the things Sam's doesn't have. Today there is a very long line and I am preparing for a nights stay read more

Restaurant Depot - Line to checkout - Wholesale Stores Near Me - Phoenix, Arizona

Its sad how this place will only show part of the review but I would never return this place cares more about making a dollar than the safety of there employees they rather put there employee life at a in danger an at risk like the manger said I'm just looking out for the best interest of the company the worrying about the well being if there employees if they get knifed raped robbed they just care about making that dollar read more

It just never gets better no matter how many times you give it another try. Some other similar company PLEASE open in Phoenix!!! Don't get in line between a really full cart, it takes three people and 15 minutes to count it. Begging for a change to operations or a replacement for this concept. read more

I love this place, everyone there was very nice and extremely helpful. It's really far away from where we are living, and it is not in the best area of town. I will have to try the other one next time. I WOULD go back. read more

Love this store! A friend who used to run a pizza on wheels for events told me about this store. I love doing something unique with the kids when we have large gatherings with friends. Usually we make a craft or build your own sundaes with lots of toppers. I had another friend of mine take me here who has a membership as well. Premade pizza dough, fresh mozzarella and canned sauce was my go to per recommendation. This time the kids made their own pizzas. They created their own masterpieces. With thr dough, sauce, cheese and other topping. We then baked them. The extra special yummy ingredients we so good and everyone thought they were delicious. Our girls made their pizzas for papa and we got picked theirs up from their favorite allergy friendly pizzeria. Large store. The employees were very friendly. They are very busy! They have so many other cool things. I would love to come back some day. read more

First off, I really loved this store but an employee named CHASTINA followed me around the store and made me feel very uncomfortable. I went in for items for a family party and left with a nasty taste for restaurant depot. She acts like she is all high and mighty when I think it's just high. read more

Always great customer service wether you into the store or have a question over the phone.

Restaurant Depot - Extremely bad customer service at this place on more than one occasion . - Wholesale Stores Near Me - Phoenix, Arizona

I'm surprised their rating is as low as it is. People seem to complain about the service. First, I don't expect retail level service at a wholesale place. Second, every time I have asked for help from one of the forklift guys, they have always been very nice and helpful. The other day they spent several minutes and called up two employees to make sure that I found the goat cheese I was looking for. Sometimes checkout seems a bit slow but to be fair people are not buying a few groceries at a time; they are buying bulk items at wholesale. With that in mind I think they do a great job. Checkout people seem well trained and push people through pretty quickly. The prices on many things are really good. For example I get 50 pounds of rice for about $18. The only thing I won't buy here is chicken because it is the same garbage that everyone else has which I am not fond of. But I don't think most people notice or care about the chicken quality (based on what people happily pay for and eat at restaurants). And it isn't any worse than the chicken at most super markets. I'm just picky about my chicken! I also don't get Thai basil here because when they have it it is in too big a pack for me. Lettuce is same price as super market when buying individual heads which is a bummer. The selection is fantastic. The la canasta flour tortillas are fantastic. The goat cheese is really good and that is hard to find. Also good prices and great selection on equipment and small wares. All in all, I don't know what I'd do without this place and I think nearly every small restaurant in town shops here, even after they leave a bad review :) Five stars because, even though not perfect, this is easily the best game in town for bulk wholesale restaurant food and supplies. I forgot my card today and they happily provide a temp pass. read more

Ok so its not on par with US FOODS, since they require a membership with an application process, its not for general public. However there are a few things here that you will not find there. Specific items are an incredible selection of edible flowers: boxed price $9.99, ample bags of fresh herbs from $5-$10. Also They have huge bags of callebaut chocolate bars, chocolate chips, hot chocolate in white, milk chocolate and dark- well priced. Their meats and produce are sporadic but well priced. Seafood on par with most restaurant supply stores. You will need to show liquor license to purchase, yet Sam's and Costco will be better for some key items. Overall a good resource, yet always good to shop around. read more

I have been an avid costomer here for years. I live very far away from one of these. Being as I live so far away with there super secret prices, it makes it hard to shop here. I called and asked for some prices so I could plan a trip to come give them money, and they would not give me any prices. They have no online pressance to be able to look at their items. This was very inconsiderate for hw much I spend there. Also a lot of their items are geniric and unheard of brands. Unless you buy a 40lb box of something to try it, you never realy know what the quality is or what it taste like. There is no way to sample or try anything. With my distance and being unable to return things, I have always shyed away from buying some things because of this. They are a big store with lots of great prices on things. But I am not sure I will ever Go back. read more

Here's the deal. If you own a restaurant and shop here you're an idiot. The time you spend puttering around in this place doesn't equal savings. Their prices on same items are noy that much cheaper. If you have a good relationship with your broadliner and use a produce house you'll save money in the long run... This place is primarily people that have burnwd every bridge in town. I think this is the cleanest and most organized Jetro I've been to. Very nice. Thanks for the infrared heat lamp for our food show, ain't easy trying to find one of these haha. Also, love all the gloves they have and super good price. Especially the vinyl ones I can use for sushi and it doesn't stick and I don't need to keep rinsing hands. Shady business! They do not pay their bills to vendors or subcontractors. They are great at cutting you down., and blame things on you even though they have signed contracts. They have been given extra allowance for time to pay and they still don't meet it. Not a business I would recommend or do service with! read more

I love that this place is open to the public and they have an amazing assortment of items. I love that the prices are somewhat decent. I hate that the employees are rude as can be. Last time I went in I had to ask 4 different people to help me find crab crackers. The first three couldn't be bothered and all kept telling me where they should be if they had them. I wasted 25 minutes in a store that doesn't carry what I was looking for because the employees don't know their supply. Meh. read more

This is a review of the online store of Restaurant Depot. I bought two large appliances. The website said "Fast Shipping". The confirmation email said I would be notified in 3 business days about the shipping status. Was never updated by the company as to the status of shipping. Was kept guessing until the stuff arrived two weeks later. Not exactly fast. In the age of Amazon, you've got to do better than that. read more

If I could leave a NEGATIVE 10 review I would this place is the WORST possible business The employees are purposely slow and rude. They do not stock their shelves the line was 45 carts deep and 5 lines were not open the managers were rude and unresponsive People are trying to run their businesses and this place makes it virtually impossible to do that. I will pay more to get supplies before I shop here ever again. The manager Bree watched as employees were joking around and not making attempt to expedite the lines. I had to call 4 times the day before to see if an item that is necessary to operate my business was in stock. They said there were plenty but not on the shelf. The freezer is packed and they could not get anyone to get product. When I got there the following day I was told the tree is no one working the freezer today read more

I have been going here for years for cases of chicken. About 15% of the time the chicken is not fresh, has an unfresh odor and ice crystals telling me that it defrosted and refrozen. Usually it's OK but when you're processing 100 pound batches and renting a commissary kitchen, you can't simply stop bring it back. Last time it was worse than usual, a whole batch of raw ground chicken spoiled very quickly from bad handling before I got it. I've made thousands of pounds of Raw Cat Food, so don't try to blame me because I make it the same every time for many years. I need a more reliable and safer source of product. I'm going to Costco Business Center from now on. read more

Not the best to do business. Terrible customer service. They treat you like you don't know anything. Never coming here again.

Why would anyone want to come here and shop when you can have food delivered. The attitude alone from the cashiers are unacceptable and absolutely not worth the saving. Besides the 25minute wait on line is a complete waste of time and even the customers had bad attitudes, which I can only figure is from the sheer frustration of having to deal with that crap to save a penny. What a bad energy to walk into. Thank god I will never have to go there again I was doing a friend a favor. read more

FYI, this place is membership only as I was so rudely told upon entering the store. I have driven past this store numerous times and today my husband and I attempted to check it out. We walked in and behind me I hear the yells of "hey, hey!" I turn around and the girl at the counter asks "do you have a membership?" "No, I didn't know I needed one." I replied. "This store is not open to the public, ok? Sorry." The better thing to say would have been to ask if I would like to open a membership and not be so rude and turn away business. Here's a store I will not be giving my business to. read more

I'm sorry that Maggie was treated rudely at Restaurant Depot, but I assure you the joint does not deserve one star. I own a restaurant and I shop here at least once a week. The place is amazing and the prices are often better then major restaurant suppliers. They sell everything from whole goats to individual Sweet and Low packs. FYI, I don't serve goat at my place! Had Maggie been allowed to enter she would seen a galaxy of stuff for for restaurants all in huge quantities. This place makes Costco look like Circle K. Aisles and aisles of food, every sauce and condiment you can imagine, huge canned goods, cooking supplies... and yes.... even whole goats! read more

Watch OUT for the dudes on the fork-lifts, whoa! I think they like to scare shoppers with their fast machines whizzing down the aisles! If you own a business and need restaurant supplies, this is your go-to place. Kinda like Smart & Final and Costco had a baby = Restaurant Depot. Apply for your free membership online, print out your welcome letter, and bring your Tax ID/TPT #. Approach the front counter and they will issue you a membership card. The HUGE walk-in refrigerator has deli meats, cheese wheels, eggs, juices, produce, meats of diverse origins, and WHOLE GOATS too! It is very cold in there! They have jackets on one end near the back entrance. Did I mention WHOLE GOATS? They are located in a bin. How often do you see a bin of whole goats? They have a vast selection of food containers, pizza boxes, drink cups, etc. In 500/1000 qty case sizes. If you own an Italian restaurant or use LOTS of canned tomato sauce or paste, this place has a HUGE selection of that! Plus, lots of dried pasta in every imaginable shape too! Hello, Thrifty ice cream!!! Yes, it's here! Five gallon containers! And they even have that cylinder shaped scooper too, because that always makes ice cream taste better! I wanna open an ice cream parlor now! LOL! Prices seem pretty decent. Clean restrooms and FREE ice packs for your perishables too! Staff isn't friendly, but they will answer your questions if you ask. It's pretty much self-service here! Enter from Frontage Road, south of Indian School Road. read more

This is a real "cash n carry" restaurant supply. It's no secret that this is a membership only place. And not like Costco- you actually have to provide specific business license/tax info to obtain a membership, which is free. Pricing is based upon market pricing, but it's lower than anything you'll find at a regular grocery or Sams Club or Costco- this is where restaurant owners go to get their stock. What an awesome store! In and out very fast, nice, helpful employees, and rock bottom pricing. Plus, it's super clean. Every time I go there, I enjoy the experience. They have one big huge massive refrigerator room, loaded with produce, amazingly priced meats, and freezer cases. They have jackets for the warehouse, and if they aren't by the front door area, go to the other refrigerator exit, as they are likely hanging there. read more

Massive, massive restaurant supply warehouse open to wholesale customers only, (privilege tax certificate required) though you can go to the service counter just inside the front door to request a 1-day-pass (and pay sales tax). I would assume there are some restrictions on the day passes as well, but they were perfectly courteous and there were small cues about them not being open to the public - I think it was the two large signs outside the front door. The cooler section alone may be 1/4 - 1/3 the size of an entire mid-sized Costco. If you thought Costcovian quantities were large, these quantities run from large to massive, to freakin' massive, to vulgar exclamation 'in HUGE. Long aisle of whole sale wines & spirits, which may be purchased by bottle or case, again, wholesale customers only, and not geared for needs of non-commercial customers, though big-family folks may covet the volume purchase deal. Clean, wide aisles. Clean mens' room too. Access from southbound frontage road off 17, south from Indian School, read more

I agree with Carlin about Maggie's review. Come on. There is a huge sign outside that states it is not open to the public. There is a reason their motto is: "Where Restaurants Shop." Restaurant Depot fills the niche, right between distributors and Costco/Sam's Club. I haven't had any rude experiences or bad service here and I've been coming here ever since it has been open. read more

Would give 0 if I could, for so many reasons. If there were other places to buy our specific product, I assure you I while not come back. Please give RD a try if: 1) You enjoy rude, apathetic, unprofessional employees and managers 2) your items always being out of stock and hearing a variety of reasons as to why they aren't in. So, you call first and are told they are in and you drive across town and guess what.. They lied and couldn't care less they wastes glad time. 3) forklift drivers who go out of their way to speed down the isles and ignore you even if you are the one who they are placing the call for overhead 4) items always in the wrong location. I mean, always. Who doesn't like a surprise when the box under white makes it home and turns out to be yellow. That's just variety for ya. 5) lets go back again over the people. They are real gems. If you are the type who wants to be glared at, shrugged out and walked away from, you will feel right at home here. read more

All i have to say is that ever since they opened it to the public during Covid shut down they have kept it this way and for us small business owners it sucks that there is LONG LINES and is very inconvenient !!! read more

I want to like it here but the front check out staff is so apathetic that I question the store's professionalism. I was one of two people in five minutes waving my arms and trying to get the attention of staff who couldn't care less. I found a box of guacamole left out unrefrigerated and had to make a bit of a scene to get someone to take it. I have no idea if she returned it to the chiller and if it is now a safety issue. Another woman, much older. was trying to get ice to pack around her purchases and the ice was stuck together. The same employee rolled her eyes when she was told about it. She opened another ice chest and gestured for the old woman to dig through it for ice. Being professional doesn't come naturally like breathing. People need to be trained and then to have expectations placed on them. I saw another employee with a filthy blue Restaurant Depot vest walk past me. I am now concerned that their behaviors are a risk to those who buy from this business. read more

Happily, I have access to a card. Granted - the quantities here are too large for the most part to be useful at home - only two of us live there - but WOW. The selection! The prices! I've spent thousands in the past on huge quantities of paper goods and soft drinks for a nonprofit I work with. Last week we were shopping for a party. I picked up a case of frozen corn cobs, a gallon of oil for the deep fryer, a case of plastic utensils and were on our way for CHEAP! My roommate saw the WHOLE GOATS from New Zealand in the cooler - and is now planning our next party - something that will necessitate buying a whole friggen goat! Come for the selection, prices and helpful employees - come back for the goat! read more

Not sure why all the negative reviews. This place is great. I have never had a bad experience at this place. Been going here for a couple of years to get supplies for our Vegan Jerky business. Prices are great, customer service is top notch. Many times I have stopped a guy or gal that was obviously very busy doing their job, and they always stopped with a smile to lend me a hand looking for something in the back, or getting a fork lift to get a pallet of something from the top shelf if they were out on the bottom shelf. Could not say more nice things about this place if I tried. Great place to shop. The only thing I can even think to complain about is that its pretty far for me to drive (as if that is their fault) hehe. read more
