It is important to note that you can only enter here if you are a business owner. I am lucky enough to have access, giving me the ability to shop at this whole sale store. I have been to many restaurant depots and this one is pretty decent with a focus on NE foods and products as well as a great selection of meats and seafood. If you are a local business: restaurant, vending machine company, caterer, you will likely find many of your needs here. I was impressed to see many of my local eateries' vehicles in the parking lot when I visited so it is clear that they go daily for the freshest ingredients. This place is terrible with terrible employees. Not everyone is completely useless. But the front desk is horrible. Those people definitely don't want to work or help and lack basic communication skills. They would rather engage in laughter and conversations with themselves or just ignore your existence altogether. Now I'm a nice person until provoked so staying collected while being spoken to disrespectfully took a lot. This place makes you wanna get I'll mannered, for the culture. No one wants to get products that are not on shelves because of the efforts it will take. So sales and flyers are pointless. I called on Tuesday to ask if I can get a day pass to shop if I'm not a business owner. The customer service person on the phone said that yes, I could. The man I spoke to said I could get one at the customer service desk. I came in on Friday and asked for a day pass at the desk. The customer service people said I couldn't get a pass if I wasn't a business owner. They were also really dismissive and said I must have called the wrong phone number (I didn't) and that no men work at the desk (??). Overall my trip was a waste of time and gas. This place is a lawless land. Litter in the parking lots, never any parking spaces, loose carts all over the lot, anyone working here never helps you but insists you get out of their way, no one ever knows of anything is in stock and disappears when they tell you they're going to look, front end employees look miserable, the only upside is there's a few cute girls, but the locals who shop here are ignorant and entitled and will go as far as stealing off of your cart while you're shopping to get what they need. Andover store is much more pleasant and set up in a way where you can easily get what you need and get out. read more

If you are looking to buy high quality food in a massively quantity, then this is your store. I went with a friend who owns a restaurant & I was just over whelmed. Food from ever nationality. The staff is super friendly & very helpful. A stock boy walked me to the item i was looking for. Cashiers are quick. Great store! read more

Do you like your favorite products in massive amounts? Well if the answer is yes, then Restaurant Depot is the store for you! We ended up stopping at Restaurant Depot with my father-in-law who owns a business. When we walked in I didn't know what to expect, but I quickly fell in love with this store. This store has food, food and more food! Everything is great quality and in massive quantities The store was hectic and navigating the aisles was a challenge at time, but the checkout staff was polite and quick. Overall, we bought everything we needed and more. I have genuinely fallen in love with this store and can't wait to shop here again in the future. read more

They are supposed to open at 5:00 Am, many of the customers left their homes by 4:30 ( when still dark, and probably wake up by 3:15 am), to find out that the person in charge to open the store still didn't show up, about 75 people now and many RD employees waiting outside hoping they will get in soon. almost 5:30 and still closed, just want to report it's very upsetting! read more

There's nothing wrong with having a 12 items or less lane. However, if you put a sign up on wheels that can be easily turned around, you CANNOT get upset with a customer who gets in line with more than 12 items. A customer cannot see a sign of it's backwards. Maybe stop putting signs on wheels. You could have easily avoided chewing out a customer for your mistake. Also very unfair for someone who has been waiting in an "express" lane for 10 minutes and then be asked to move to a different and longer line. If you really want to streamline the checkout process, there should be ONE LINE. The cashier that is ready gets the next person in line. Customers would check out quicker, cashier's would clock out quicker. It would be a win win for everyone, except the managers here are too small minded to implement something that would save EVERYONE time and the company money. Keep providing that bottom tier customer service for no reason. read more

The only reason restaurant depot exists is because there is no alternative. From quality of products to staff that refuse to show any sense of urgency. Likely due to poor pay and working conditions. The system they use for inventory is from the 90 so slows down the checkout process to the point it take 30-60 min on a good day to get checked through. Considering millions and millions of dollars go through the place daily I would think they would me more then utter shit. Some day someone with a system not from the 90s will take over this market and hopefully make restaurant depot something of the past. read more

If you got a business i.e. a restaurant, this is the place that will have everything you need. EVERYTHING!!! But be ready to go hunting for everything because it seems that even the staff have a hard time finding things. Asked for help wondering if they had a certain type of cleaning agent and the staff looked as lost as I did. However, he tried his best and did not stop helping me till we found what I was looking for. The only thing I really can't stand is the lines to check out......OMG!!!!! THE LINES!!!!! It does not seem to matter what time of the day you go, the lines to check out are always a mile long and that moves just as fast as the lines at the DMV. I like going food shopping for my family or for the restaurant. But I just don't understand every time I visit restaurant depot no matter what time everything always disorganized. Every time I almost get run over by a forklift or something else. Lanes are closed for stocking the cashiers most of the time are in a bad mood. Restaurant depot to chefs is like candy/toy stores to kids. My boss and I decided to have a short rib throw down at his house and since we wanted the best price on everything from cheese to meat to everything in between we decided on Restaurant Depot. This one is a lot nicer than the one in Cincinnati, this one has a much bigger/better selection of meats, hams, and fresh fish and not to mention cheese. I bought a 6 lb duck for $10, bought some great selection of cheese for really low price. The only problem with restaurant depot is the checkout process, the Saturday we went there were only 4 lanes open to check out. IMO there should be more lanes open. read more

Have you ever wanted to go back into time and see what the Neanderthals were like? You can do it without a time machine - go to the Everett, MA Restaurant Depot! Why did I come here instead of the Andover location? Customers and staff are the rudest people you will ever see under one roof! You need 6 sets of eyes to prevent yourself from being crushed to death by workers flying around on fork lifts, dodging empty carts abandoned by customers. Be prepared to wait in line at the check out for about an hour, while the cashier tries to remember how to count past 10 and use the cash register, all the while giving you nasty looks. It is not the first time, before in the frieze area I had a problem with one employed very rude , I want to fight with me inside the market; I just ask about the Broccoli and I answer me : I don't have time for you now , I said I will talk with the manager and I came to me furious and I put his head to my head.... I talk with the big manager and all it is good now . This morning I ask to bring me cannoli , ( was not on the shelves , I wait 25 minute and no body take care about; it came the menager little fat guy very rude and I said me to leave from the market because I is the manager and I decide everything .... I call Other "manager " young guy and he take a defense of his employed , like that I go back to the office and I call the real Manager old guy and broken the ass to this rude and unprofessional guy... every body can be a manager in restaurant Depot like that .... I been there on 9/8/21 morning in Andover store. After making the payment I went the desk as didn't find few items (left to the exit). A black lady was there eating. It was around 9:10 am. I asker her that I was looking for Uncle Beans brown rice and didn't fine. Her answer was "If it's not there then we don't have it". I added I was looking for around 10 boxes frozen chicken tenders as well and didn't see those in shelf. Either they have anything back in stock or not? Without looking she said "No". I again politely asked either she can tell when I can expect those? Her answer was "Go to the frozen section, ask them". I politely said either I can ask her name? With that, she got agitated and became really load, stated shouting why I was asking her name. Another person came rushing asked what happened? She started almost screaming loudly, "This guy is asking my name". That time manager call me from back office and he tried to answer me. I couldn't believe the way I was treated. read more

I mean 30-45 minutes? wanna be treated like a piece of crap by uneducated rude employees? come to the depot, - I just talked to a manager and told him that a gentleman at the desk rejected my friends application for membership, first thing he said was - THERE'S NO GUY AT THE DESK - than am either blind or stupid when I was right there with him - ha ha ha - let me make a long story short, - SKIP THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS - we're never coming back here again. (unless I run out of something and it will be buying just that, even though I will still wait 45 minutes in line- Ughhh. oh and that MANAGER? please . . if you wasn't at the desk when we were there how you dear tell me THERE'S ONLY A LADY at the desk, and yes I know that ladies work at the desk, BUT TODAY there was also a guy there so listen to your customers when they talk and shut up. read more

I gave 1 star because I still get customers complaining to me about the store. I see the photos and hear the complaints and I worked to help many of you. I have not been there for a year. If its an in stock, mouse, cleaning, customer service or any other issues as I hear that the current manager and other two after me are not what you may expect in terms of service. But I assure you the CEO is very big with customer service and there are still a few people left in that store that care. When I left some very good managers left within the next few months. I tried to contact the Regional manager but he really does not have time to talk. Restaurant Depot has good people at many levels but since the corporate office is in NYC sometimes they don't have the feel for what's going on. I truly apricate all the customers that text and call me for help you all were great as were many of the partners in that building. To the employees there is a hotline number posted by the time clock if you have any issues. We know sometimes the issues are not addressed and sometimes you have to push it up to the right people. If you want the worst customer service available, then this is the company for you. Today I have called 3 times JUST for a beverage quote. All three times I was placed on hold for over 8 minutes and then hung up on. I am CURRENTLY on hold to speak with a manager about this matter, and I feel as though I am just going to be hung up on again. I literally dread calling this place because its either they redirect you a million times until you get the crabbiest rep, or you don't get a hold of anyone at all. (Current wait time to speak with a manager has been 8 mins and counting.) It's like when they hire people the look for the worst possible people they can find. I have shopped at restaurant depot for over 10 years. Reading some of the other reviews, I have to question if I am at the same store. This location, and the other locations are great for restaurant professionals who know what they want, get it, and get out of here. It's not a place for pleasantries or partying. The employees live locally. They do their best to answer questions when they are asked. At a minimum, most employees speak both Spanish and English. I've only ever found them helpful over the years. I started at the Chelsea store and then that location moved to Everett. The Everett store is clean and spacious and well laid out. Recently I started shopping at the North Andover store When I am further north of Boston. It is also clean and spacious. Not as large as the Everett store but I can primarily find what I need there. I have shopped at The Needham location as well as other restaurant depot's around the country and found them equally supplied and with similar caliber employees. I wouldn't hesitate to go there for a minute. The Needham location can be cluttered and feels unclean but it is a great stop for some general items. They have less of the specialty items there. I do however, appreciate the covered parking at the Needham location. Occasionally they are out of an item but by and large, I find everything I am looking for. The fresh seafood department at both the Everett and North Andover locations are wonderful. Very often I get fresh fish and seafood there. Outstanding! The same with the meat, dairy, and cheese departments. As long as you don't act like you are better than they are and are not pretentious, they are pleasant, down to earth, every day hard-working people. Yes, the lines can be long. Yes, they verify every single thing on your cart to make sure you were not double charged or under charged. It's a good way of controlling inventory and theft. Next time you are at restaurant depot, cut them some slack, give them a smile, and just say hello. My guess is that you'll get a pleasant reply in return. That has ALWAYS been my experience... today is the last day that i've stepped into restaurant depot. after waiting 15 minutes behind someone writing a check (which involved supervisors and managers, jesus christ have you heard of streamlining), a cashier opened the line next to the one i was standing in and took the person behind me. is that how a line works? to top it off, i get a snarky "have a nice day" from that person as well as another snarky comment under her breath. never again will i give my money to this company. it needs a serious dose of customer service. thankfully, there are alternatives to the wretched place. read more

So far, my experience with their online store has been awful. My first call was to ask questions about a freezer on the website. I am not familiar with these items and with every question I asked, I received the rudest answers. As if I was the expert and should not even be asking these questions. She hung up without saying good bye. I unfortunately had to place an order here because I didn't have any other options for where this freezer had to be delivered. After I received an email notification of the order and many days passed by, I sent an email asking for a delivery estimate. Crickets. I finally called today and it must have been the same girl I dealt with before. I didn't even have my entire sentence out asking for delivery information and she put me on hold. She came back and asked me a couple questions and told me she would call me back with tracking information. I tried asking a question and she cut me off and was again, very rude the whole time.
