Went to Restaurant de La Cigogne inside @hoteldelacigogne for our parting meal, and it was hit and miss. Not worth the Michelin star, skip the visit.
(The kiddo was not amused bc he requested what he wanted based on this menu item, and he was told no and was told it's intended for simple requests such as cheese pasta or hamburgers. He wanted kalbi with a quail egg: Le chef se fera une joie de concocter un menu de saison selon les envies de vos enfants. The chef will prepare a seasonal menu according to the wishes of your children.)
-Mango amberjack sashimi, carrot salad and cauliflower cream: light and perfectly prepared, could have eaten the carrot salad for every meal!
-The perfect egg, chanterelles and Jerusalem artichokes, mushrooms emulsion: looked like marshmallow Peeps in presentation but it was perfect in texture and flavor.
-Lamb fillet in walnut crust, small turnips and chicory cannelloni: lamb had not rested long enough after cooking, the cannelloni was too bitter for the pairing.
-Risotto with seasonal mushrooms: terribly undercooked!
-Basil and pesto trofie, burrata and crispy pancetta: there is such a thing as over basil-ing a dish. read more
