Spareribs

Wow! The food here is absolutely amazing. The head chef for sure knows what he's doing. I was a bit let down on the sparerib but my wife's pork chop was beyond expectations. We would 100% eat here again!!

We didn't make a separate reservation but the four breakfasts included in our recent stay at the Inn were very well-prepared and tasty. The service was impeccable throughout the hotel and the dining area. The decor is timeless and the light through very large windows makes the experience magical especially in the winter when you could see the snow touched trees. We ate the (using the menu's terminology) flapjacks, brioche french toast, frittata, two eggs, and smoked salmon platter. The smoked salmon seemed to be prepared in-house, and was so fresh and delicious that meal felt the most special. swerved with whipped cream cheese, red onion, capers and star fruit garnish, I was able to swap the bagel for toast, which I had enjoyed the previous days as well. Thank you to the staff for accommodating distanced tables, and for wearing masks!

The Green dining room at the Inn of Erlowest, used for breakfasts

The Inn at Erlowest is a spectacular stone castle, perched on the shores of Lake George in the Adirondack Mountains of upstate New York. It was also the setting for the "wedding of the century" (better known as my niece's wedding) this past Fall. Although numerous wedding photos can be found on the main listing for the Inn at Erlowest, this review is about the excellent breakfast that I enjoyed in their restaurant. It was early in the morning, and while most of my relatives were still shaking off the effects of the rehearsal dinner from the night before, I climbed the hill from my townhome to enjoy a delicious breakfast in the Green Room at the Inn. This elegant dining room is known for their beautiful leaded glass windows, and intimate dining space near the fireplace. Thankfully it was still warm during my niece's wedding weekend, so the fireplace was for decoration and not a necessity. I ordered a pot of hot tea, along with a glass of freshly-squeezed orange juice (You can take the guy out of Florida, but you can't take Florida out of the guy). For my breakfast, I enjoyed two eggs Sunny-side up with Yukon Gold Potato home fries, and a side of wild boar bacon. My server kindly brought me an extra side of the blueberry venison sausage since I wanted to try that as well. This was a locally-sourced, and very delicious breakfast. If you're not a fan of traditional eggs and breakfast meats, they also offer smoked salmon, pancakes, French toast, yogurt, and Steel-cut oatmeal.

We had the best time here for a birthday dinner. Lovely table outside overlooking the lake. Outdoor fireplace. service was impeccable, wine pairing suggestions were on point. Food was absolutely delicious. We've booked a trip back up to the Adirondacks just to have another terrific meal there. Win win!

Rib Eye
Heather B.

The food was unbelievable. We split everything. Started with salad and apple soup. Salad was great but the apple soup was fabulous. For dinner the rib eye was outrageous. Cooked to perfection. Mary was our waitress she was spot on with her suggestions. She recommended the sorbet for the end of the night dessert. It was so good' would highly recommend this restaurant. The atmosphere is elegant and beautiful. A must in Lake George for a special dinner.

Burrata with grilled peaches and local greens

I was prepared to hate it because I HATE overspending on meals- but this place really rises up to the challenge. First, the views are breathtaking. Second, the staff is helpful and not pretentious. Third- the food! Drinks to dessert- it is fresh, local and delicious. The menu is limited. Look at it up front before you go. The one gripe I had is that my steak (perfect temperature, great flavor) did not come out hot. I casually mentioned it to my waitress and it was promptly taken care of. The ice cream is a real treat. This place is a gem.

Best place to eat in the region, hands down. Everything is delicious and the service is great! I had the seared foie Gras to begin, then they sent out a melon mojito sorbet as a palette cleanser (so good I ate 2), then I had the veal chop, and the banana split for dessert. Only thing slightly disappointing was there is no banana in the split, it's the chefs interpretation...but still good. Loved it! Will return!

Food was good service was horrible. The place overbooked and was understaffed. Better options to dine in the lake George area.

Upon walking in the host and servers were super nice and we were seated promptly. The space itself is super nice! Not crowded at all but definitely means you should make a reservation as they are super popular! Food was amazing! DO NOT MISS THE ROLLS! I'd come back just for the rolls, they were so soft, fluffy, and light with the perfect flaky salt on top to balance with the whipped honey butter. Delicious! Everything else was also great, the hanger steak is also tender and loved the hash that came with it and the crab spaghetti had ample crab meat in it. Presentation was gorgeous. Love the seasonal menus and you really can't go wrong with anything here. We skipped out on dessert but I'm sure there's great options too. Highly recommend and hope to be back!

The place seems a little dated inside with the plastic tablecloths and our table was a bit wobbly. It was dark inside too. Service was good and our waitress was very attentive. Even though it's always busy in the summer months, we've never waited more than about 20 minutes for a table even with a group of 6-12 people. The service can be hit or miss. We've had some excellent servers, but this last visit was disappointing. Our server took our order, dropped off the food, and we didn't see her again until it was time for the check. For me, that's unacceptable; servers should always check in at least once after meals are served. The food itself is good. A lot of our group has their "go-to" dishes, and mine is the steakhouse burger on a GF bun. I really appreciate that they offer gluten-free options and let you swap fries for whatever potato they're serving (baked, mashed, etc.). My mother-in-law loved the shrimp tacos, and the Hawaiian shrimp bowl is another favorite, but definitely ask for light sauce, otherwise it's too heavy. The dock staff are always great - super helpful getting boats in and out, and we really appreciate them. We keep coming back for the ease of docking, the views, the atmosphere, and a solid dinner with drinks. Honestly, it beats a lot of the other spots on the lake.

It's been a while since I've eaten here and I forgot how much I liked it…read more The old Victorian style historic house turned restaurant is really lovely. The wraparound porch is just so nice to sit outside and eat in warm weather. They really utilize the space well, as it's covered in colder months so you can still sit there. I was here for brunch on Mother's Day with reservations and was seated promptly. Due to the holiday, parking was not possible in their lot as it can only take a few cars. No matter, as we were able to park nearby. Their brunch menu had plenty to choose from. You were given these small carrot cake muffins to start, then a choice of starter and main along with dessert, wow! You also had a few cocktails to choose from and you could also swap out for a mocktail too. It was extremely busy but the staff was attentive and handled our orders with ease. Their attention to detail was so nice. For starters we had a strawberry salad, French onion soup, tuna tartare, coconut shrimp. For mains, the burger, salmon Benedict, chicken and waffles and a Polynesian style breakfast bowl with coconut shrimp, sticky rice, pineapple and greens. Lastly on a full tummy we had coffee with chocolate mousse, strawberry shortcake and peanut butter cheesecake. Spending the morning here for brunch was the perfect way to kick off the day. Brunch was enjoyed by all. On a side note, I've also had dinner here and you can expect the same wonderful experience. I'll be back again!

Having visited Silver Fork in Manchester on a number of occasions over the years, I finally…read morerealized I've never written a review. Well, now is the time. We re-visited the restaurant recently for our 40th wedding anniversary, and I think it's only fitting to offer a view on what is best described as a bastion of excellence and gracious dining in Manchester village, Vermont. Situated in a refurbished former library building, the Silver Fork's setting, decor, and dining experience is indeed textbook flawless. Inside the upscale eatery evokes mid-century Moderne, a setting for the once popular Madmen TV period drama series; tony, chic, but hardly ostentatious and overbearing. On the contrary the high ceilings, lighting and space combine to offer that frozen glimpse of earlier elegance but alongside very contemporary culinary offerings. Table spacing accentuates a good use of space. We started with a "Rubies are Forever" Pomegranate cocktail with Pomegranate boba. The menu is large but not overbearing; a good mix of meats, legumes and fish. Equally the starters are enticing. French Onion soup is amazing but on this occasion we both chose the Duck egg roll with a special peanut sauce. Simply extraordinary and with generous duck portions. For an entree, my wife chose Mahi Mahi Fish, beautifully prepared over plantain. Despite being tempted by a brisket with horseradish sauce, the evening special, I chose the Ratatouille. Why? Prepared properly, this is often hard to find. The Chef's presentation of the southern French staple, was beautifully interpreted, accompanied with some goat cheese. We accompanied our meal with a glasses of red wine. For desert we shared the incomparable Caribbean Bread Pudding which is always a hit here. Allow to me to say our server Lynn showed a genuine experience both in the menu and wine list along with a pleasant disposition. We equally had the opportunity to chat with Melody the co-owner who, along with her husband Chef Mark, described their culinary Odyssey before coming to Vermont years ago to establish Silver Fork. Silver Fork presents a genuine chef-prepared culinary experience both in terms of cuisine as well as ambiance and flawless service. We'll be back!

First I must comment on the beautiful job that the owners had performed in transforming this Library into to a paradise for eating. Tables are spaced far enough apart that you feel that you are having a private dining experience. The art work is beautiful and arranged tastefully. The wait staff are courteous and respectful. You can tell that this is an upscale restaurant as soon as as you are seated. The food is the best I have ever had. I have dined in many Michelin starred restaurants but the food at The Silver Fork is beyond reproach. I must say that the cocktails are on the same level as the food served. I can't wait to return to Manchester so that I may once again experience this perfect meal. Diane & Larry Katz (NJ)
