This is was my first visit to the new park. I have to say it is VERY nice…read more The place was clean, the seats are comfortable with leg room, there are plenty of restrooms. I did not explore the park as much as I should have as the game was a good one. The seating goes all the way around the park so you can enjoy the game from a variety of views. There did not seem to be a bad seat in the place. Two cons- 1. Shop around for ticket prices. My first two searches were 48$ per ticket which in my opinion is to high for AA baseball. I think i ended up with 23$ tickets. 2. The park has some work to do on parking. There is plenty of it, but the way i came in- we had to do a U turn to get in line for general parking which I never would have gotten through if they did not have a police officer helping with traffic. Just seems like a U turn is a bad idea when you have 7k people trying to get into a parking lot

Dear gentle yelpers,…read more This reviewer and her family visited the inaugural series to see The Flying Squirrels at their new Stadium CarMax Park. Wow, it is a beautiful stadium with seating that goes all around! Tickets were a fair price and the entertainment was definitely engaging with games and audience participation! I am not sure if I can check in at the actual concession stand, as I could not find anything. So, for now I am rating for the stadium itself. The food, I would give three stars at the concession stand. They listed jumbo hotdogs, that were in reality pretty regular almost comparable to a gas station hot dog. I had the chicken tenders and they were alright. The highlight was the squirrel fries. We ordered from the concession stand right near third base and are open to testing out the others around the field. We are excited to go back and check out more of the stadium. Stay tuned.... To my surprise it was only a few blocks down from my hotel so I decided to stop by. I was welcomed immediately by Seph and others. I wish I had more time to train there but if I'm in Richmond again I would definitely come back here. There's a cafe and restaurant inside so coffee, sandwiches, pizza and salad are easily accessible before or after you play. Booking online was super easy and they even offer padels and balls to rent. Next time we'll set aside more time to look for parking because the lot nearby charged 12.99 for the day when we only needed a couple of hours. I'm sure we could have found a cheaper spot to park if we knew. Nevertheless, we look forward to coming back!

He made it easy and told me to come by. When I showed up, JB took care of me right away. He gave me a full tour and made me feel like I had been there before. The space really impressed me. Two large mat areas with plenty of room to move, heavy bags set up, and a full strength and conditioning area in the back. They even have a massage therapist right next door. It is honestly one of the nicest setups I have seen. JB ran the class I attended and he stood out immediately. Super personable, remembered my name, and just had that easygoing presence that puts people at ease. You can tell he has a deep well of experience, but he carries it in a grounded way. He represents what you hope to find in the jiu jitsu community. The training environment was great. Everyone was friendly, joking around, and still serious about getting better. I never felt out of place or pressured. The adult gi class had a good mix of skill levels, and the techniques we worked on were practical with smart variations that I can actually use. After the instruction we got some solid rounds in and I left feeling like I had a real session, not just a drop in workout. What really stood out to me was that the day after I trained, Frank texted me to ask how everything went. That meant a lot. It showed me they are not just running classes, they actually care about the people who walk through the door. I will absolutely be back the next time I am in Richmond.
