I am so happy to be writing this review because I want more women to experience the wonders and…read morebeauty of Abbie and her work. She is extraordinarily kind, compassionate, patient, warm, funny and technically skilled. If you've been considering reconstructive tattooing, Abbie will guide you through the process with incredible respect for the journey you've been on... and you will leave with great looking nipples! I went to see Abbie at The PArlor to get 3D nipple tattooing after a mastectomy. I knew I wanted to go this route, but I had been putting if off because I was scared and wanted to be sure I found a reconstructive tattoo artist who would give me a great outcome. The last thing I needed after this whole process was permanent, lousy looking nips! I could not be happier that I found Abbie. She is a PA and therefore approaches the process with a medical understanding that I found comforting. Abbie took great time to determine the location, size and color of the tattoos. She checked in with me repeatedly to be sure I was comfortable, feeling emotionally ok, and not having any pain. When I finally had a chance to see my new nips, I burt into tears. I love them and they made me feel sooooo much better. More like myself. Abbie started her practice as a personal "passion project," and it is clear that she remains extremely committed to this work. She let me bring a friend to the appointment, we played music, and she encouraged me make the day special. We called it "tit tat day." If you are thinking about reconstructive tattooing, I want you to know that you will be in excellent hands with Abbie. Im sorry anyone has to go through this journey, but Im glad there are treasures like Abbie to help us along the way.

Amy also reached out and apologized. I'm unsure if I will consider the studio in the future, but I appreciate the follow up. Tony seems amazing, and I'm sure he runs an amazing studio- an unfortunate bad experience that is likely rare. My experience with Body Art Studio 13 started out positive. I had booked an appointment through Instagram DMs as instructed, had a lovely conversation with my artist's assistant, and sent my deposit to the artist that I had booked with- Amy Heath. However, at 11:30PM the night before my appointment, I received a text that my appointment had been cancelled. To preface a little bit: I had booked for two tattoos, and this would have been my first experience with tattoos. I greatly admired, and truly still do admire, the work of Amy- I was absolutely thrilled to be working with her and planned an hour long commute that was a rare opportunity in order to be tattooed by her. I sent her a quick DM asking why my appointment had been cancelled, and I decided to try calling her at 11:45PM. The first call had no answer, so I decided to just try one more time. She answered, said, "F*ck off, I'm in bed," and hung up. I will attach photos of the exchange that followed. I was truly excited for my appointment, and I would have understood Amy's frustration if she had been polite about it. I was very frustrated about the cancellation, as I took lots of time to pick an artist and studio that I felt would provide a good experience, but I did not stoop to the level of rudeness and extreme unprofessionalism that Amy did. Amy lost herself, and Body Art Studio 13, someone who would have been a very loyal patron. So disappointed.

this place at all costs! I went in to ask if they could order me specific gems on white gold posts…read moreand they put them in for me. I already had two piercings with butterfly backs but no one mentioned there is a different kind of back now where you screw a microscopic post into a tiny hole. I had to take them out for an MRI and can't get them back in because I have paralysis in my thumbs and arthritis in my hands. I called to see if they could exchange them for the type I wanted because I can't use these and he got very defensive. He kept telling me he has a client with 4 fingers and only one hand so my disability shouldn't be a problem. If he can overcome his then surely I should overcome mine, he insisted. I felt like I was talking to a child. There was no apology for the miscommunication, no offer to try to reorder them or take them back or even issue some kind of credit. He just kept blaming me, saying I should have asked when I came in wearing butterflies and having no idea these others existed. The bottom line: They don't take an ounce of responsibility for anything and are incredibly rude to someone who spent hundreds of dollars on something she can't use. Telling me I am wrong about my disability and insisting I can pay them to teach me to do it was the icing on the cake. You don't tell a disabled person that their disability isn't real and they can do something they can't if they really wanted to. I would rather pierce my own ear with a rusty nail than set foot in this scam of a place again.
