THEE place to go to for piercings!!! My girls wanted helix piercings while we were in Boston. I had originally planned on going to the location on Newbury Street, but we happened to be in Chestnut Hill and decided to try this location instead. It's located in a shopping center, so there's plenty of free parking. As soon as we walking in, the customer service was amazing! We didn't have appointments but they managed to squeeze us in. Everyone in staff was friendly, knowledgeable and professional! There are lots of options for studs and the whole place was super cute and super clean! My girls had the different piercers, but they were both AMAZING!!! I had a helix piercing done at Studs in Back Bay a few months back and visited the Chestnut Hill location after I accidentally knocked it out while brushing my hair. Turns out this was my own fault because I never came back to have the piercing downsized. I found a same day check up appointment (all the other Boston locations were booked out for a week+) and when I arrived, they answered all my questions, put a downsized replacement earring in (for free!), and I was out of there in under 10 minutes. So grateful to have it taken care of quickly so the piercing could start healing again asap. I've visited different locations in a few cities for myself and for friends, so I wanted to address some of the complaints in the other reviews - Studs is sooo trendy right now that even though they allow walk ins, it's almost never possible in my experience. Make an appointment online and you'll avoid so many of the issues people mention. You also can't call their stores - you have to contact customer service or visit in person to have questions answered. It's not always ideal, but they're super upfront about their policies. Read the emails they send in advance or review the FAQ on the website so you know what you're getting into. The process has always been so easy for me, I'd recommend it to anyone for both ear piercing and casual everyday, earrings! read more

Studs was an extremely professional, cleanly, and comfortable ear piercing experience. The woman who pierced my ears was amazing. So friendly and walked me through it every step of the way. I felt very comfortable as someone who isn't the best with needles. The earrings are adorable and come in so many different shapes other than the typical silver ball. I got butterflies but there were hearts, lighting bolts, mushrooms, stars, etc. It is a bit pricey but worth it. They pierce with a needle rather than a gun. My daughter, my mother and I (aka my daughter's mother) came to Studs in Chestnut Hill in Brookline, MA, for a long-scheduled appointment to tighten the studs she got when she got her ears pierced. We made time for this today only to find out that she requires a government ID. So we were turned away. Why is a government ID required to tighten a stud!? My girlfriend had a 1:40 appointment here. We showed up 15 minutes early as asked. The place seemed like it was in disarray with staff just hanging around. It's almost an hour later and they still haven't done her piercing. They can know how to *take* the reservation, they just don't know how to *hold* the reservation. They rolled their eyes when my child wanted candy because he wasn't suppose to be touching things. Then they were trying to say we can't touch your ear due to the fact we don't have a nurse on site and I go oh well can I try it near my ear and she cringed and discussed the germs. I've had a piercing change and 2 piercings done with studs so far and they have been the most comfortable experiences I've ever had at piercing salons. Only downfall about STUDS is that the piercings and jewelry are all quite expensive which isn't always obvious going in, but I wont take a star off because the rest of my experience was so good. I got two cartilage piercings yesterday, STUDS' 'snakebite' piercing, which were the least painful piercings I have ever experienced and now, 30 hrs later, only hurt if I accidentally snag them. Recently needed to have my piercings reopened. They did an excellent job and were even able to find where the small hole was in order to stretch it instead of repiercing it that was the healing time was faster. Stay away. The quality of their earrings is cheap. My cartilage piercing earring broke within weeks. I went back 3 times to have it replaced but there is never anyone working there. They have a sign that lives on the door that says out for lunch open at 2pm but still no one there at 3, 4 etc. I should have read the warning signs when I showed up for my first appointment and no one was there. It was then rescheduled and promptly cancelled. Today - I can see the person there and she completely ignores me. Too busy talking to her boyfriend. Find a better more professional place. read more

I was super stoked to see Studs was opening a location next to where I work, and given $10 off my first piercing, who was I to resist?! So I popped in for a quick helix piercing. Being the cheapo, below middle class person that I am, I opted to pierce with one of the cheaper (I think 30 bucks) set of earrings. That being said, it's a super cute, crescent moon shape that I will be happy to wear even after this bad boy heals. There are lots of very cute options as far as earrings for initial piercings go. The people that work here are way cooler than anyone else who typically belong in Chestnut Hill, which I fondly refer to as "Chestnut Hell." I know that they will soon be put off by the people that inhabit this town and my heart goes out to them. The Studs shop has so many cute and affordable (especially to the really rich creatures that live in this area, it's like pennies) options that all seem to be awesome for sensitive ears like the ones this lil snowflake has. I'm always looking for cute, tiny little studs for my ears because I now have 4 holes on each one, and they definitely deliver. The coolest part is that you can choose to buy individual studs instead of buying in pairs, like a basic b***h on her first communion. The flat backs are also a game changer especially as a person that plans to sleep, and at that, on one or both sides of my head. Jasmine was exceptionally dope at her job and gave me all the cool girl vibes I would expect from a cool city piercing joint, but with all the luxuries of a bougie suburban shopping center with free parking to boot. If we can somehow get the word out to middle aged+ ladies in the area that multiple ear piercings are so hot right now, Studs will crush it! I'm definitely looking forward to getting some more holes filled here in the future, but for now I wish the staff Good Luck in terms of dealing with the hell spawn that Satan himself put in chestnut hill!
