I got two conch piercings here a few months ago; originally I had planned on getting one conch piercing per ear, but my piercer, Lars, recommended against it, and was very accommodating to how I wanted to proceed. Came here for a tattoo appointment with Hannah and had a wonderful time! I absolutely love my new piece--she gave me two options for the design and scaled it down slightly to fit my arm better which I really appreciated. Note that if you're there for a tattoo appointment (not a piercing appointment) the tattoo doors are two doors down from the main shop! I was tattooed for about 2 hours and was able to keep headphones in during the session. Shop was clean and everyone working there was friendly and welcoming. I will most definitely return for more tattoos and piercings. Highly recommend Hannah's work as well! The one thing I will say is I do wish I was sent home with a bandage wrap (such as tegaderm or saniderm) instead of a traditional healing wrap with plastic wrap, but I understand each artist is different. This was my first time getting a piercing (basic lobe) so maybe I'm just unfamiliar with this world, but I would have appreciated a lot more transparency on the pricing before my appointment. On their website, they list a $70 piercing deposit and note that the jewelry is sold separately, so looking at the titanium jewelry on their website, I assumed it would be somewhere in the $25-40 range. Going in, the first option shown to me was $110 per piece. And then when I asked to see any cheaper options I was shown a $85/$90, and overall their pieces seemed to range from $80-120 per piece. In the end, I chose a $90/earring of which I didn't even know the material until seeing it written down in my aftercare notes. Maybe because I'm a piercing newbie, I was also unaware that backings were sold separately $22/backing which is something I would've preferred to know beforehand. The customer service was pretty good overall, but I was just caught off guard with the price. read more

She has an amazing vibe, does excellent work and delivered the final product exactly how we wanted it. i got a naval piercing a little over a month ago at Lucky's in Northampton, and since i live closer to Boston, i was happy they had a sister store if i needed any help during the year long healing process. i've been having some slight issues with my new piercing and wanted a piercer to check it out. i called Lucky's early on Sunday and the woman i spoke to didn't say her name. i asked if i could walk in to have someone check it out or if i needed to make an appointment. she told me they were booked for the day, and they had no time to look at it even though i was worried it was going to fall out or have significant blood loss, she told me to make a next day appointment for a jewelry change online. when i went on their site the jewelry change appointment was $15. i thought it was ridiculous they were not available and they wanted me to pay upfront to look at my piercing and potentially remove it, from a place that is supposed to be their sister salon. i ended up making an appointment elsewhere which was much easier to set up than here, and it turned out i needed a disc replaced with a ball to stop cutting into me during the day to stop bleeding and prevent infection. i have no problem with paying for a service of course, but when someone is concerned about infection or medical care, and they were so nonchalant about it, "not my problem" attitude, it is clear they're thinking about one thing and it's not you, the client. it seems both locations act very busy; when i first got the piercing along with a friend, we tried to walk-in to Lucky's in Northampton and they said they were too busy but could make a next day appointment. they didn't look very busy. they have good quality jewelry but their customer service at both locations feels like you're bothering or inconveniencing them, and i'm happy i went elsewhere to fix my piercing. read more

He inquired about details and presented me with printouts of my design in several sizes for me to examine and finally choose. He is clearly passionate about tattooing and takes great pride in his work. (I also found the sketches of his Japanese style tattoo images posted on the wall to be very beautiful.) He then proceeds to tell us about the note on their website that states they can cancel appointments if you're 10 minutes late. We weren't 10 minutes late... Hadn't been pierced in over a decade, so I was a bit nervous getting my septum pierced. Nic was very helpful in all communication around my appointment and with picking out jewelry. The space is bright, peaceful and well designed. Lars was my piercer and explained each step of the process- greatly reducing my anxiety. It was clear that not only are they very competent in the profession, but that they take great care with each person they pierce. Far and away the best piercing experience I've ever had. Although I did not get a piercing myself, I went with a friend to her appointment and felt that the services provided were wonderful! My friend had made an appointment online. Since piercings are a pretty big deal I like how the staff double checked the type/location of piercing multiple times. I appreciated how serious they took the sanitary precautions - sanitizing surfaces regularly (you could smell the alcohol haha), enforcing masks, wearing gloves, etc. After checking in and deciding on the earring/stud, my friend was called in pretty promptly, and I was able to accompany her. The staff was super friendly and helpful. He was super clear about what the process was like and instructions on how to clean/maintain the piercing. Loved how the staff talked my friend through everything he was doing. The piercing was done very efficiently but didn't feel rushed at all. Went in for some help with a piercing that my kid has. Nothing urgent. We had been to a few places who had turned us away for not having an appointment. We got to Lucky's and we got asked if we had an appointment. We said no and expected to be turned away like everywhere else. But the amazing person who greeted us asked a simple question "what do you need? Maybe we can help." What a difference in attitude. We explained what we needed and the person said no problem. They had a few minutes. Explained the paperwork we needed to do and as soon it was done, they took my kid to fix the piercing. Unbelievably nice, helpful, and gracious. I'm sorry I didn't get their name, but if anyone from there is reading it was around 12 on Monday, February 19. The individual was female presenting, bridge piercing, great ink under the collarbone of a castle, and was using a men's tie as a scarf. Such a lovely person. Everyone else we interacted with there seemed nice and had the same sort of community oriented attitude. The space was clean, spacious, well lit, and everything seemed to be well run. The front staff were very organized and I was checked in and out promptly. Let me start off by saying I have been pierced many times. My first mistake was going to a new place when I should've gone to the place I know does a great job. (Piercing emporium in Worcester is better in every sense). My boyfriend and I had been wanting to get our septum's pierced for a while. I got pregnant and I made him wait for me to do it together. The time was finally here and we were so excited! We had dinner plans in the city which is why I looked for a new place to get pierced. We walked in and the shop is beautiful, I'll give them that. And it's the only appealing part of this place. The staff working the front desk were so rude. We felt rushed picking the jewelry. They didn't smile. They seem bothered by any questions we had. Lacked people skills. I would've had a better time talking to a cardboard box. Whatever. We picked the jewelry and then took a seat. My boyfriend's piercer, Robbi, came out and called for him. I went with him. We tried talking to her, making conversation with her, making some jokes to ease our nerves. She seemed so annoyed any time we spoke or asked questions. The personality of a bitchy limp noodle. At least his piercing process went smooth. My piercer, who I will not name because he was actually SO SWEET, came to get me. While he was piercing me, he had a hard time getting it through. He pushed through and I could feel something was not right. When I sat up he says the needle got out of place and he had to pull it out and re pierce it. He was shaking and looked nervous. I should've just taken the L and left. But no. I let him redo it. It never healed properly and I ended up taking it out and letting it close. A waste of money. I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy. Absolutely sucked. I'm giving 1 star ONLY because I can't leave a negative. Absolute trash. read more

I feel like I should start a Lucky's BINGO card of artists. I've now been tattooed by Caleb as well! (Making that Caitlin, Pat, and Caleb who I've been tattooed by in the Cambridge location). Lucky's is my go-to recommendation for tattoos! I always leave the shop so happy with my experience. As always they are inclusive, kind, attentive, and helpful. It's the kind of shop where you feel comfortable (not intimated!). Now on to rave about Caleb specifically! I am floored by how creative and talented he is. To start, he really did an amazing job interpreting my reference images into his own style. When we started the appointment he had his drawings laid out and we could immediately get down to playing with placement and size. He was very chill and didn't make me feel guilty or silly about moving it and shifting the design. He makes the process feel very collaborative. While laying out the design I also discussed the future add-on I hoped to do with the tattoo. He was very helpful in giving feedback about how the placement would help for adding on in the future. During the process he was attentive, easy to talk to, and informative. The tattoo we did was my largest and longest appointment to date so it was nice to have him explain what was going on, what was coming next, and how much longer. I'll say maybe the best part of my appointment was when we realized we'd be finishing my tattoo earlier than expected. Caleb mentioned he could do the add-on we had discussed when figuring out the placement. I gave him a quick reference photo, we chatted about price, and went for it! I was a teeny bit nervous of how it'd turn out with him having zero prep ahead of time for this new part but *wow*. He is very talented and really blew my expectations out of the water. I came here for a nose piercing. Making reservations was super easy through their website. They are very busy and I was able to get an appointment a month in advance. They do require you to put down a non refundable deposit. One downside is that you can't view (or maybe I wasn't able to find this) the jewellery or their prices (as that's the expensive portion of your piercing). On the day of, the doors are locked and you can ring the bell for someone to get you. You're only allowed in if you have an appointment, which I felt made me feel very safe. It also limited the number of people inside. Once in and checked in, someone helped me pick my jewelry- they were all very nice and patient. Lars did my piercing and they were very nice, friendly and walked me through the whole process and after care. Very informative and made me feel safe during the piercing. They even offered me a tissue for the post-pierce tears. I will definitely be back for any future piercings and/or tats here! Amazing staff! read more

I got my septum pierced by Madison back in August of 2022, and it was overall a great experience! First, the front desk folks answered all of my questions and helped me shop for jewelry. Then, the piercing itself was quick and painless, and I felt like Madison explained exactly what was going to happen and made sure I felt comfortable along the way. Fast forward to January, and I wanted to switch out the piercing for a retainer for an event, but I couldn't get the ball off so I made another appointment. I unfortunately can't remember the name of the person my appointment was with, but they were fantastic too. The folks at the front desk informed me that if they widened the jewelry, I would be able to flip it up without needing to take it out, so I opted for that option. Again, the piercer was fast, friendly and super nice! Unfortunately, after widening the jewelry, I noticed that it was hanging perpetually a little bit crooked, so I emailed the shop asking what kind of appointment I should make (I LOVE the online booking system, but there wasn't an option that was clearly for adjusting an existing piercing). The owner replied and told me how to book and gave me a coupon code so that it wouldn't charge me for the visit. My appointment with Lars was great! They took the time to made extra sure that it hung straight and that I was happy with it. All in all, three wonderful experiences. They are very professional and kind, and the store is very clean and professional. They also have a really nice selection of jewelry you can choose from! Went here for a septum piercing. As I've never had any piercings or tattoos before, I was very scared but Lars handled it perfectly. They ask for pronouns and the whole place is extremely welcoming. It is so clean and covid safe, I had no worries. Septum went so quick with minimal pain, just a sharp little tap. I got a tattoo from Spencer G. in November 2023. It was an amazing experience. I had emailed pics of my dogs to them before my appointment, and Spencer had a design ready when I got there. He was super easy to work with and made the changes I wanted to the design quickly. I was very nervous for the actual tattooing portion because my pain tolerance is non-existent, but Spencer was easy to talk to and kept me distracted enough so I wouldn't focus on the pain. I had to ask for a break during the tattooing because the pain getting a bit much, and he didn't make me feel bad about it. I had my 5 yr old daughter's ears pierced here and they were fantastic and professional, and were super respectful. A few months later it seemed she had some really bad irritation/allergic reaction from an earring we put in ourselves which I could not remove bc of swelling and pain. I emailed them and they were incredibly responsive, asked for pics via email to check if she had an infection and needed to see a doctor, worked with my schedule to find a time to see her just a couple days later, and despite her ear being painful they were able to quickly get out the problematic earring and place a new surgical grade post without her shedding a single tear. Booked an appointment, paid my deposit and by my fault was 7 minutes late. Tourist - sue me. Should have called. Didn't. But my piercer "greeted" me by calling out my tardiness and said, "well since you're already 10 minutes into your appointment, you'll have to sign the waiver and pick your jewelry out in 5 minutes..." I have no intention on being rushed through my process. Not to mention, with the exception of one couple in the shop, your shop was empty...I digress. My husband said, "If it's too much of an inconvenience we can leave," to which your piercer replied, "at the bottom of our website, you'll see the memo that says we have the right to cancel your appointment if you are 10 minutes late." I responded by holding up my phone and showing him the time, "it's 8 after so fortunately we don't have to worry about that, a little grace and kindness goes a long way." At that he found his voice and retaliated that he didn't like my attitude and would be refusing to pierce me today. Let me just say as a highly anxious person, I already was uncomfortable having this person with a chip on his shoulder come near me with a needle. I've spent all of 10 hours in this city at this point, and for a first experience that was dreadful. I was recommended Lucky's by several friends and was so excited to take it all in. I hope this rude person feels mighty and powerful with their refusal to pierce my nose. Congratulations buddy - you have found your voice AND lost the company you represent money for the day!!
