Although I did not get a piercing myself, I went with a friend to her appointment and felt that the services provided were wonderful! My friend had made an appointment online. Since piercings are a pretty big deal I like how the staff double checked the type/location of piercing multiple times. I appreciated how serious they took the sanitary precautions - sanitizing surfaces regularly (you could smell the alcohol haha), enforcing masks, wearing gloves, etc. After checking in and deciding on the earring/stud, my friend was called in pretty promptly, and I was able to accompany her. The staff was super friendly and helpful. He was super clear about what the process was like and instructions on how to clean/maintain the piercing. Loved how the staff talked my friend through everything he was doing. The piercing was done very efficiently but didn't feel rushed at all. Lucky's seems like a place I'd want to get my piercing done and you also get a $10 off if you check in!

Lars is a delight. I felt so comfortable with them and had an outstanding piercing experience with a lobe and a conch piercings and a jewelry switch on a tricky forward helix piercing. The front desk staff were also lovely and helped me pick out jewelry I love from the well curated selection. We are lucky to have such a great shop in the Boston metro region. Don't hate me 'cus I'm punny. :P

I've worked with Caleb Colpitts twice now and I've had nothing but stellar experiences with him. So so talented! My loose descriptions of my end goal always end up even more spectacular than i could have imagined.

I as someone with 12 piercings, I often get asked for recommendations for piercing studios. And I always, without fail, tell them, "GO TO LUCKY'S!!!" This is truly THE BEST place on the North Shore to get pierced, hands down. All of the piercers are APP certified or working towards their certification, and are all incredibly skilled piercers. I've had appointments with Madison, Clinton, Mimi, and Lars and they're all truly fantastic piercers. Plus the front staff is always super helpful, and the studio is always clean. Plus this is an LGBTQ-friendly studio! They carry a lot of the top brands for high-quality body jewelry while supporting smaller jewelers/goldsmiths as well. I truly can't say enough about how fantastic this shop is.

My friend and I walked to this week to browse. They had a large selection of high quality jewelry, and the staff was helpful and patient with jewelry options and sizing.

I always wanted a nostril piercing. I decided to bite the bullet and get one. I could not have had a more positive experience. The front staff were very organized and I was checked in and out promptly. The jewelry specialist took their time to explain the metals used in the piercings and helped me select the best piercing jewelry that met my needs (highly sensitive skin) and the aesthetic I wanted (small CZ stud). I was even shown how the piercing would look like on a nostril model. Madison took to heart that I am nervous around needles and did everything possible to make me feel comfortable. She guided me through the steps of the procedure and she took the time to answer my questions in a very thoughtful manner. She was quick and efficient, and as a result, I ended up with a beautiful piercing. You will not regret coming here!

Ask the Community - Lucky's Tattoo and Piercing

Do you guys offer flat back jewelry?

Hi there! We do offer that style of jewelry. Our stud posts are made from implant grade titanium and there are many options of decorative ends to choose from. Feel free to check out our web store or stop by the shop to take a look at the selection!

Hi, do you guys have a glass jewelry for a nose piercing?

Yes! We do carry glass retainers for piercings. You can make an appointment for shopping or a jewelry change if you’d like us to switch your jewelry for you. Book here: https://luckystattoo.org/book-piercing/ or call the shop for more info.

How long will it take for a simple ear piercing to heal well enough to be able to change the jewelry?

    8 weeks, I believe. 🤞

How much would it be for a pair of lobe piercings with basic silver jewelry (2 piercings (1 on each lobe) and 2 earrings)?

Hi! The best way to get the most accurate pricing info is to email the shop directly (luckysboston@gmail.com) and they’ll be able to let you know!

What is your current policy on bringing guest(s)?

Hi! We aren’t currently allowing guests to keep numbers low in the shop. Thanks for checking!

Can you bring your own jewelry and just do piercing service?

Hi! We’re happy to switch jewelry for healed piercings but jewelry for initial piercings needs to be purchased at the time of the service. Feel free to give the shop a call if you have more questions!

Could I bring in a fairy simple piece my friend drew for me or do you only do custom pieces by your artists?

Hi there! Our artists are happy to work with reference material. The best way to get information for tattoos is to email our tattoo desk at luckysboston@gmail.com. You can send the images and they will be able to give you more specific information…

Hi, I was curious what the prices are for rook, daith, and industrial piercings, as well as the cost of plain titanium jewlery for each (if that is available?) Thanks so much!

Hi! The easiest way to get the most current pricing info is to give us a call at the shop. We look forward to talking with you!

I am looking to get an outer conch piercing and an orbital piercing. How much would they be?

Hey! Conch piercings are $30 plus jewelry. Hoops start at $25 and studs start at $35. Orbitals are $50 plus jewelry, which starts at $25. Feel free to give the shop a call with any other questions!

Do you do tongue piercings? If yes, what would the cost be?

We do! The piercing itself is $30 plus jewelry which starts at $35. Feel free to call with any other questions!

Should we tip a piercer or tattoo artist?

Hi! Thanks for asking this question! We generally see tipping treated as just like any other service, like getting a haircut etc. Tips are always appreciated!

Do you do constellation piercings (in either the Noho or Boston shop)?

We do! Feel free to stop into either shop and we'll check out your options based on your anatomy and what you're looking for. They're always a fun adventure!

Hello, I know the minimum for a tattoo is $80 but I was wondering what the hourly is too or does that vary for each artist?

Hi! The hourly for each artist is $150. Feel free to email the tattoo desk for more information (luckysboston@gmail.com).

Do you accept cash? Credit? Debit?

Yes yes and yes! Feel free to give us a call if you have other questions! ♡

How old do I have to be to get a septum piercing done with parents permission? I'm underage and it's been extremely hard to find a piercing studio to pierce me. ❤️

Hey Spencer - We start septum piercings at 14 years old.with parental consent and proper paperwork. Feel free to give the shop a call if you have more questions!

Hi, how should I wait to go swimming in the ocean after getting a cartilage piercing (ear)? Since they take longer to heal, is there a time of year you'd recommend I come in to get it done? Thanks!

Hi! Good question. We recommend waiting until your piercing is fully healed before submerging it in water. Everyone heals differently so you can always check in with a piercer for more specific recommendations.…

Do you do nipple piercings? If so, how much are they usually?

Hi there! We do indeed offer nipple piercings. The best way to get the most accurate pricing is to call or email the shop directly. Let us know how else we can help! ♡

Hi, do you offer nostril piercings with a ring (as opposed to a stud)?

We do but we like to let people know that they can take a little more time to heal and proper aftercare is even more important!

Do you guys have student discounts for the Boston location?

We do! You can find them in the highlights in our Instagram stories!

Do you guys do belly button piercings?

We do! Feel free to give us a call at the shop for pricing info!

Loved him for the cubist work he does and now I love him even more for how original my tattoo is. I came in with an idea of what I wanted and when it came time for me to actually tattoo, Dave exceeded my expectations in design. It was so dope. During the session, we watched two movies on the huge projectors in the shop. We were in a temp space, I think, as they were renovating the main place. Either way, everyone I interacted with was super kind, really funny, and just all around great people. I left kind of sad as we had spent 4 hours pretty much kickin it while I got my tat. Looking forward to get more work done here with Dave! --------------------- Don't really know about the tattoos, but my piercing experience was great! I felt the need to get a nose piercing and found Pino Bros through Yelp. I walked in and it was pretty busy, but I immediately was greeted by someone at the front and was taken care of (already impressed). The guy that greeted me told me that it would only be a few minutes because someone was ahead of me which was fine. I didn't mind. I only waited maybe 8 minutes until Aaron walked up to me and introduced himself. He immediately made me feel comfortable and I knew it was going to be a great experience. Aaron walked me through everything and made me feel at ease. Super sweet guy. Everyone there is pretty nice and I would highly recommend!

They have portfolios of the artsists' work on the website. Based on Yelp reviews, I chose Andy Reach and he was great. In order to reserve your timeslot, you send a deposit to your artist (I chose to do so via Venmo), for me it was $60. After you receive the tattoo you pay the remaining amount, $40 for me. [Note: $100 is the minimum fee at Redemption, even for a small tattoo like mine. I was happy to pay that knowing I'm working with a great artist at a reputable shop, but you can probably find cheaper for small, single-color tattoos elsewhere.] Don't forget to tip too! Andy did a great job on my tattoo. I had a really specific design (the 3 stars from the corner of the page in the Harry Potter books) and he copied it exactly. He was very honest and upfront with me about what size and location would last well instead of promising something that would never work long term. I left with a slightly bigger tattoo than I'd anticipated, but I feel confident that it won't fade or blur like the smaller size I'd initially planned on. All in, I was probably under the needle for 20 minutes tops. It felt like someone digging their fingernail into your skin. Sure, it hurts, but no biggie. A month and a half later, my tattoo has healed really nicely and looks great. It bled a little bit the first night but other than that healing was fairly quick and easy. I will absolutely come back to Redemption and Andy specifically if/when I decide to get my next tattoo.

Unfortunately, due to the COVID-19 outbreak, I had to wait a little while longer to visit the shop for the first time! Of course I was nervous as heck because I had job idea how much the tattoo cost, or how painful it was gonna be, plus doing anywhere during all this madness is a challenge within itself. However, all the safety precautions were being taken, all artists and customers (including myself) had masks and gloves on, and the procedure went great! I came in with clear ideas and references, but very little of what I asked for was actually incorporated into the final piece. What's most frustrating is the apparent lack of effort. When I compare my tattoo to other work he has done, the difference in quality and attention to detail is hard to ignore. My piece feels rushed and poorly executed, with minimal care taken to match the concept we had planned. Getting a tattoo is a permanent and personal decision, so it's important to feel heard and confident in your artist. Unfortunately, that wasn't my experience here. I would strongly recommend that others carefully review his work and ensure clear communication before committing. Also, he admitted to me that he has been drunk while doing other clients work in the past and had alcohol at his station in the shop. That begs the question if he was drunk while doing mine.

Marina was running the shop herself and took care of 3 clients in a short period of time without rushing. she was super kind and helpful even though i didn't get my piercing here. she let me know my options and i chose to replace the bottom disc of a floating naval with a ball since the disc was digging into me. after she replaced the disc, i nearly immediately started feeling better. the disc had swollen the area around my naval, but the ball nearly immediately settled it. the bar already seems much longer due to the swelling going down after about 14 hours. she was patient, helpful and caring. i appreciate that she cared about my healing more than the place i got the piercing done from! and i love her pink gloves and matching supplies. comfortable waiting room, piercing room, good vibes. i love that they separated the piercing and tattoo sections. wonderful customer service. thank you for not treating clients like a burden.

Run, don't walk...away from STUDS…read more It is 2025 and customer service should not be that hard to deliver, alas, I've been proven wrong. Is studs convenient? Yes. Besides the fact that my piercer was nice and it was easy to get an appointment, the rest of my experience left a lot to be desired. I am going to include all the details here so that when Annalisa comments and asks me to reach out to share more details we can all know that this is a canned response and they truly don't care about their customers. Day of piercing. They were a bit behind. No worries. I chose my jewelry and was get my flat helix pierced. The piercer marked the spot, though she didn't use a light or anything to check for blood vessels. I'm not a piercer, so maybe not all piercings require that. Honestly the initial experience was more or less fine. It was about one month later that my piercing got knocked out of my ear in the shower. I was flabbergasted because I have several other ear piercings and it is actually impossible to remove them. I literally had to sign a waiver for an MRI bc I couldn't get them out. Studs jewelry, on the other hand, is cheap cheap cheap despite the unnecessarily high pricetag. I was fortunate to find both pieces of the earring when it fell out and I attempted to get it back in. My ear was swollen and then grew much more swollen through my attempts to get it back in. I figured I was causing harm so I decided to stop and go back in. I called to see if I could pop in before I left for vacation the next day. They don't have a phone in their studios. Like what? I figured I had no other choice but to go in and quickly ask someone who does this all day long to quickly pop it back in. When I walked in and shared the story at the desk, you would think I was asking them to perform a root canal. The receptionist seemed outraged that I would make such a request 15 minutes before closing when there is still one appointment left for the day. I let her know that I'd be happy to wait. I was told they have to close. Like duh, I understand, but this will take like three seconds. My entire piercing appt was 3 minutes. Like y'all, we can make this happen. Like I mentioned, I was going on vacation and I didn't want my brand new piercing that cost like $80 to close up. I thought they wouldn't want it either. A good piercing out of that studio is a walking billboard. The receptionist agreed to ask the piercer. A lady comes down with a horrible attitude, does not introduce herself and tells me why it is not possible for them to put my earring in. I asked how long it would take. She informed me a couple of seconds. She spoke to me in such a condescending way using phrases like, "what I am trying to explain to you is...," "what you don't understand is...," "if you would just let me finish..." She also told me that they work 8 hours and have to come back the next day to do the same thing as if they are the only people in the world with a job. I literally have never spoken to a customer about my work schedule as an excuse to not be kind and accommodating. Now I thought I was talking to the piercer. I said how about we get this in my ear instead of yapping about it. Turns out it was the manager, Sasha. I was being spoken down to by the manager. Customer service 101 is listening and she was unable to listen, she spoke over me time and time again using sarcasm which I did not appreciate. I get really anxious in this type of situation and my eyes welled up and she told me, "to stop crying. There is no reason to be crying." Anyone who is highly sensitive knows that makes it way worse. The manager should not be saying that to a customer. She eventually went to ask the piercer if it was possible. Upon her return she asked me to sign a waiver (like for what plus I already signed it for this exact hole) and then tried to charge me a $15 jewelry change fee. I was outraged. This should have been a courtesy given the horrible quality of the jewelry. If your jewelry falls out in the shower, that is a quality issue. While I was waiting for the manager to speak to the piercer, the receptionist gave me a tip for getting it back in myself. Bro, if we started there, this would have never gotten blown out of proportion. So all that said, I will only be going to a real piercer from now on. The quality of jewelry is better. I've had more healing issues here than any of my other piercings. Oh and they tend to be legitimately nice in real piercings studio. Just don't bother.
