I didn't have a good experience with Marriott before but I decided to give it another go in Springfield. I'll have to say that this place proved me wrong! It was actually very pleasant. The young man in the front was very pleasant and made me feel very welcome and safe. This location is close to everything you need! It comes with a full kitchen and has all the cook and silverware you need! It was very clean and very quiet. No issues at all with our stay AND you get a balcony! Can't beat that. Beds were comfy and everything was clean. They didn't skimp out on breakfast and that was delicious too! I really enjoyed my stay here. This place restored my faith in Marriott hotels! I travel extensively for work, this has to be the worst Residence Inn I've stayed at. Right from check in, guy at the desk did not say hello, just came over and said yes? He asked what bought me in for this 2 night stay, I excitedly told him I was just 2 night short for reaching Gold status with Marriott Bonvoy and he didn't even look up or acknowledge my response. Your bad day is not my issue sir. The room is poorly designed, the kitchen layout is terrible, all pots and pans, plates and glassed shoved in one cupboard under the hob with wires dangling down. Floor in kitchen is slanted, I was trying to do work on my computer at the desk but the chair kept rolling away. Some of the USB plugs don't work. Coffee bar only had decaf coffee, sink in bathroom was not cleaned and big dark hairs everywhere. Mentioned to front desk about lack of coffee in room but nothing resolved, nobody sent up. Charge for parking when I don't have a car and was never asked if I had one. Disappointing overall stay this time unfortunately. read more

My spouse and I had a wonderful stay here over a holiday week. The room was spacious and very clean; the refrigerator in particular was absolutely spotless, which definitely isn't always the case at extended stays. The bed was comfortable, and everything in the room felt welcoming. The staff was fantastic, both on the phone and in person. They also put notes up that housekeeping staff would be limited on the holiday to maximize the time spent with their families, which I was very grateful to see. The breakfast was also great; the options varied a bit each day, but there were always bagel and cereal staples. read more

In general, we are fans of Marriott and hold a platinum membership. However, there are at times some hotels in the Marriott collection that fail to perform the standards expected. In this case, the rooms along the freeway are not insulated enough to reasonably reduce freeway noise. Additionally, they charge through the phone app a secondary charge for parking - which this is not a metro or heavily populated area that would reasonably require such charge. Finally, the room itself was disappointing with issues that included water/plumbing problems. This hotel is marked for us as a do not stay. read more

The hotel was filthy, elevator floor was sticky and gross for 5/6 days we were here. Towels changed once, after we asked for them. Piles of garbage in the halls because housekeeping is only here every other day. Pool doesn't open until June, not told this when booking. We were placed in the very back of the hotel, which is right up against the highway, not very quiet. In hindsight, we should have booked somewhere else. read more

At least the bed was comfortable. Smoke alarm hanging down loose from the ceiling, no liner In trash cans, handle messed up to bedroom and a loose fry in the bathroom. TV limits what you can stream. They charge for parking whether you have a car there or not and never disclosed at check in. Breakfast attendants herded guests and announced very tackily 10 minutes left. The pool was torn up. The hot tub was green. Stayed for the pool and hot tub. It's torn up and had been for a while. This information was not supplied at booking. Just drove 1300 miles. Booked this because if the pool and hot tub. No restaurant. It's closed. No bar. It's closed. Everything is old and outdated. Needs a massive renovation. I would have gladly stayed at another hotel had I know it had less than a motel 6. On the happier side. The staff was very nice and accommodating. Lori was very helpful. She mov d me since I wanted quiet and got the basketball hoop next to my room. After the guy came up to my patio to retrieve the ball I moved. Stayed here for a work trip and was very pleased with the decor, atmosphere, room cleanliness, and the customer service. Everyone working at the front desk was very friendly and attentive. The room's are really nice and spacious (pretty much like a mini apartment). The kitchen is fully stocked and they even supply little snacks (popcorn, coffee, mints, etc.). The room was very clean, tidy, and came with all the important amenities. They have a full breakfast buffet in the mornings and the lobby has a lot of room if you need a place to work. The location of this hotel is also great and near several restaurants and shopping centers. I came during Christmas time and the lobby was decorated really nice. I will definitely be staying here again the next time I'm in Springfield, MO. read more

Oops! Just realized (3 years later!) that I never posted this review. I can't say enough about the wonderful service and attention we received. The staff at the Residence Inn Springfield MO made our stay better than we could have imagined. We were in town for our daughter's wedding, and the staff was so accommodating and welcoming. The breakfast staff helped us surprise the newlyweds so extended family could all send them off with well wishes. From reservations to front desk to housekeeping and beyond, everyone we encounterd went out of their way to make our stay comfortable and fun. The pool and grill area provided much needed relaxation the day after the wedding - and the spacious guest rooms were appreciated by all. With not many choices for a full service hotel in Springfield, the Residence Inn is by far the best and closest thing you will find. The rooms are new-ish, very clean and spacious with really comfortable beds / nice linens. The workout room is small, but clean with all newer equipment, and huge TV and it is NOT in a tiny converted hotel room. Instead is has huge vaulted ceilings and exterior windows. The free breakfast isn't my type (nothing organic with white bread toast, scrambled eggs, sugary cereals, etc), but I did have some apple juice and some yogurt. The service is TOP NOTCH in every aspect -- from the breakfast staff, to the front desk, to housekeeping. There is a lot of parking too - so no worries there. A Four Season's it is not, but my boyfriend and I both give the Residence Inn two thumbs up (okay - a total of 4 thumbs!). We will be staying here on all future visits to family. read more

Stayed here one night during a weekend trip with friends to Springfield. The hotel itself is located on the south side of town with convenient access to the highway. The front desk staff was friendly, however I only really interacted with them during the check in process however the process itself was very pleasant. The room itself was large, with a mini kitchen area and a living room which was separate from the bedroom. The kitchen was nice and had plenty of storage in the fridge and freezer. The living room area was nice and served as a great place to catch up with friends before heading out to dinner. The bedroom felt a little tight by not leaving much room between the bed and tv however it did open up on the other side to the sink and separate bathroom area. The bed itself was comfortable and provided an excellent night sleep. WiFi was free, and actually had a decent speed for once. The next morning I checked out the free hot breakfast which consisted of the usual fare, eggs, bacon, sausage, and a waffle maker. I did see the business center which consisted of a computer and printer, however there were also other amenities, like a fitness center and pool which I was unable to utilize during my trip. Overall the stay here was good and the value was even better. read more

The service was not as good as usual, likely due to the pandemic. The hotel was clean and inviting, but the room was not well prepared for us. I booked for four, but there were only towels for three. Where do I even start?! Our room was dirty, had no working air the first night, there was a piece of chewed gum on a lamp that no one came to remove when I called, the breakfast was good but the employees made questionable comments and the TV was not working properly , and we were missing utensils. Some of these would have been easy to overlook but he gum situation put me over the edge. How are we supposed to trust that the room was cleaned properly if they missed a piece of gum in a very obvious spot. I was so stuck so I could not remove it with a napkin and I had no gloves. When I called I expected a better response than we will let housekeeping know in the morning. Especially after the crappy experience we had at the breakfast buffet that morning. You can do better Marriott. We use Marriott quite a bit but seriously rethinking our summer trips after this experience. There was one positive experience, the tall security guy tried to help with the heater situation and the TV but was unable to fix the which is understandable he is not a maintenance person. I hate to post this but I feel like we gave them plenty of opportunities to fix the situations. SMH read more

Per the marriot site....they are 100% a smoke free hotel...Yet our room WREAKED of smoke...The patron below us was smoking on the balcony....The people that worked there didn't care at all...The manager was "helping to get a room ready" when my husband asked to speak with them....We called to say our concerns....hotel didn't care. I have never stayed a hotel with friendlier staff! Especially the breakfast employees! They are all so friendly and helpful. The treated my children like people, instead of nuisances. The rooms are spacious and very nice. We were able to enjoy the pool at the very beginning of the season, so it was cold, but still lots of fun. We had lots of family there for a wedding, and there were still 12 of us on Sunday evening. We used the grill to cookout in the courtyard and were very comfortable making ourselves at home. We even enjoyed the fire pit some, too. Great place! This was second time I stayed there, and would definitely use it again. read more

Well now!..... where to start, umm, pretty used up extended stay hotel. But none the less it's "pet friendly", ( kind of) fake friendly. You know how people can be, for this area and out of stater's.... a whole new world of ignorance, and down right rude people. We felt for the staff at breakfast, and if the behavior of this generation isn't bad enough, try going to get your waffle that is done and come back to a table that was cleared off and our drinks thrown away, and a ton of kids sitting there with their parents ( and one of the "mom's" had the entire milk container in her hands from the breakfast bar ) acting as if I infringed on them!!! We were beyond shocked at this rude behavior, and we're "down to earth" people. I had to ask where their from and sure enough "originally from here" was the response we got..... typical as we've seen this area go down hill. Moving on to another state, thank the Lord! Service and people just prefer to stay in the dark and look the other way.... shameful. Won't ever stay again, not for the price of a down graded hotel that acts like it's a grand palace! read more

The facility is very nice. The rooms are very nice. However, the complete lack of class by the staff and their customer service overshadows every good aspect of this facility. The employees are undertrained and because of this I was put into terrible financial hardship. I was staying over a month for training on a corporate account. I was asked for a card for "incidentals" which is common practice. However, a computer generated hold was put on my account based on my 33 day stay. Why is this bad? Because hundreds of dollars were held out of my account for days. A small sign that is 4 inches wide and 6 inches tall is all that will warn you of this situation, and the employees aren't even savvy enough to point this out or explain the process beforehand. After contacting customer serivce, I had an employee chuckle and tell me it was my fault for not reading the sign. I had no money to use and was in the negative and no one cared. I talked to the general manager who literally tells me, "Well, since you have the hold on your account anyway just call in room service and charge it to your room." What a joke. Before I realized hundreds of dollars were held out of my account, I bought a $3.50 cup of coffee at work. This caused overdraft fees to be assessed. All I wanted was my money to be reimbursed but this was a foreign concept to management. Customer service = more important than a beautiful facility. Treat your customers right, they will treat you right. This needs to be taught to the general manager. read more

I have to give this Residence Inn 5stars. Very very clean. Quiet and excellent staff. Free wireless, of course free breakfast and happy hour. The rooms are big. I believe this hotel is pretty new. Perfect location. Right by the highway, grocery stores and restaurants. The staff is very friendly and housekeeping....well like I just said...it's very very clean. The majority of the rooms have a balcony with a patio set! I know! That's pretty awesome!! Makes having a hard day at work OK once u come back to a hotel like this! I would highly recommend this hotel for leisure and business travel. Or just to get away. Oh...and thank God for special company rates! Yay!! read more

I'm a traveling physician and I try to stay at marriott. But, I changed my reservations from my contracting company. I held it with my bank card and they called the next day to change out the card. But a few days later there was a 400 dollar charge on my card so I called. I was told to call during the week. Then I was told off and I was refused when I asked to speak to a supervisor. Really? Then I called corporate. They put the manager on the line. He said he would put in a refund. No apology. A few days later, I called corporate again because nothing happened..and they basically told me I could get a lawyer... I didn't bring it up, they did....is anyone at marriott paying attention? Is this for real? This actually went on for 3 weeks with multiple phone calls before I called corporate and before I asked to speak to a manager. The manager is totally unprofessional, dishonest and incompetent. I stay at marriot all the time...trust me, you do not want to stay at this one! UPDATE: SO ITS JUNE AND THEY JUST ILLEGALLY CHARGED MY COMPANY EXTRA PET FEES ON TOP OF THE REGULAR FEE (which I pay all the time, 100 dollars). I'M A PLATINUM CORPORATE MEMBER AT MARRIOTT! This is unbelievable...I stay at residence in all the time in other cities and bring my pets (and hire professional pet walkers/sitters for each day I work. Ask any of the half dozen hotels I've stayed at about my pets, they are 16 and 17yrs old, sleep all day and totally docile, sweet, like little old people...ZERO DAMAGE! I pretty much live at marriot. If I could give a negative 100 I would. We were literally threatened by the person that had a roo.m next door to my parents because we "were too loud ". They had a suite and they were in from out of state so we were there visiting them. Yes it was late.. but this was a hotel and we were TALKING ABOUT... after the second complaint we left so our parents wouldn't lose their room. The man next door was waiting in the lobby and harassed us as we were leaving calling me a prostitute.. cussing.. and such but the security and front desk guy were threatening to call the cops on us because this man were a return coatumer!!!!! We have stayed here numerous times when visiting family in Springfield and we always know what to expect - convenient central location, clean/comfortable lodgings, friendly staff & bountiful breakfast. There is always oatmeal & fruit for our vegans as well! A 2BR suite (3 beds, 1 sofa bed/couch, full kitchen, 3 TVs) is great for families or 2 couples, and if you request 1st floor you can have a sliding door to the parking lot which is great for unloading & loading your car. It's also a good idea to request to be near the lobby/breakfast area, especially if you have kids, as the complex is fairly large. There is an outdoor pool & hot tub, as well as a 24-hr indoor whirlpool, which my husband always enjoys after a long drive. They have always honored my husband's service with a military rate and we appreciate that! My only complaints are the free WiFi is a bit spotty (you can purchase a premium upgrade) and the decor could use a bit of updating. read more

Conveniently located near plenty of dining venues. The hotel offers spacious and clean rooms. Often times, I would lodge here during business trips. Now, I solely lodge here for pleasure as I'm heading north to Chicago. The staff always ensures to accommodate my large family so long as a 2 bedroom suite is available. Their 2 bedroom suites are amazing! I wish I could have stayed an additional night or two. The swimming pool area and basket ball court are perfect for additional relaxation. This hotel is at the top 2-3 Residence Inns in the Midwest. I look forward to my next stay here at this hotel. read more
