Pretty good hotel, not too far away from the old Mill District and decent amenities. Staff is a mixed bag; some incredibly helpful, others not so much. But this is a clean hotel. I stayed here on a four day trip and pretty much enjoyed my stay. The room was nice, everything was clean, and the kitchen size was adequate for me traveling alone. The breakfast buffet was nice that could be better. The three hot items are the only thing that change on the buffet. And the other items are all pretty basic oatmeal, yogurt, milk, toast/muffin and hard-boiled eggs. Well it's not elaborate, it is enough. And the staff working the buffet are the nicest people in the whole hotel. As a tip I will say don't stay on the first floor near the parking lot. I could actually hear people in the parking lot at night, and this was not a pleasant experience. Also, for some reason the deadbolt appear to stick and sometimes don't allow the door to fully close. At first I thought it was just my room, but then I began walking by other rooms and noticing that their doors didn't fully close because the deadbolt had engaged prior to the door closing. It was super strange to walk down the hall and count the number of doors that did not fully close. read more

I enjoyed this place a great deal. A quick escape to Bend for a few week days. The air quality wasn't the greatest so we stayed in a bit more than usual. The temperature was set to be around 100 most days and when we discovered our Airbnb didn't have air conditioning this place was our go to. Not only was it less expensive but it had an indoor pool where I spent quite a bit of time so I didn't have to deal with the smoke. The have a workout room that is well equipped that is open 24 hours so you can workout pretty much when you want to. The pool is open 6a to 10p so there's time to swim except in the wee hours which honestly who's doing that that's not intoxicated. Haha. This residence inn had a small lounge located in it which opens at 4pm and you can get a variety of eats there. It was nice to have some offerings onsite. I know typically any type of restaurant/bar is a loss leader but it's very much appreciated by me so I always try to support it. They also have a snack section at the front desk which is dangerous for someone like me watching late night tv with soda, chips, and candy. One of the features they had here was a room where you could lock up your bike or skis I'm sure they don't want you taking them to the room and as someone who has danced around a mountain bike in a room many times I was glad to not have it in the room. All in all a nice stay and worth the $10 parking fee. Their parking is limited and I suspect the don't want nearby concert goers parking here. I'll definitely be back again. read more

The Residence Inn was a great hotel for us. We stayed here over Christmas. It was in a great location right outside of the Old Mill District of Bend, Oregon. The front desk crew was terrific! Beth was the one who checked us in and gave a terrific room, and she also gave us some great advice on when to go to Mt. Bachelor. Amatha worked in the morning. She was dressed in her Christmas holiday outfit and was a really cheerful person. We were given a room with a great view of the three smokestacks. Our room was exactly what we requested with 2 queen beds. The room was big and had adequate space for all our luggage and winter clothes. The bathroom was big enough for the three of us. They got rid of their Paul Mitchell products and now provide the Marriott approved North soap, shampoo and conditioner. Breakfast is provided downstairs in the lobby. They have scrambled eggs, sausage and fresh fruit. They also had a couple of waffle makers. Coffee and juices are available as well. The girl working on Christmas day did a wonderful job keeping everything stocked. When I asked her for boxes, she immediately gave it to me. A different girl worked the next two days after Christmas. This other girl must not have been given a present from Santa as she seemed to be in a bad mood. A lot of the food needed refilling. There were times that they ran out of eggs, waffle batter, and even coffee. I tried to ask her for a box for my wife's breakfast, she replied, "I will give it to you this time, but, we don't provide boxes. It got so bad that Kelly, the GM, helped out at breakfast on 2 of the three days that I was there. When I asked Kelly for a box, she gladly went to go get one for me. This is a really good hotel in a great location in proximity to the Old Mill and downtown. I enjoyed my visit here and would love to visit again. read more

Customer service was wonderful. There was a concert that everyone and their cousin were in town for, and people were pouring into the lobby on a Monday afternoon and the staff were beyond friendly and helpful. Breakfast was served every morning and the sweet lady who was minding the dining room was very friendly and accommodating. The rooms were clean and very modern without feeling like anything was overlooked. Plenty of electrical and usb charging outlets, and lamps galore. (You dont realize how important hotel room lamps are until you can't see what's on the floor!...) I had to check out extra early to catch a flight and I forgot some items. They helped me locate them and shipped them to me same day. The location was fantastic being so close to the Old Mill and having several restaurant and shopping options. If you're going to visit Bend, I would highly recommend staying here. The only problem might be the morning traffic, but that's everywhere, isn't it? read more

Don't make a reservation at this property through Air B and B. We booked our room for 3 people, a few days after booking it our reservation was cancelled and we were told to contact Air Band B customer service. I called them and was informed the last guest damaged the plumbing and the room could not be rented. Our reservation was almost 2 weeks out, that seemed odd to me so I called the front desk. I was informed there was no plumbing issue on the property, they are overbooked. Just be honest, tell me you are over booked and offer a discounted room in the future. We had a great stay here in March 2021. The hotel is new and clean. The rooms are spacious and have a very smart and useful layout. It was great to have a full kitchen and even better that they are dog friendly. They have nice amenities and common areas. I though the lobby bar and pool was the highlight. I also enjoyed their free breakfast. I'm all about venturing out and trying new restaurants, and Bend has plenty of those. But with kids that wake up eaaaaaaaaaarly, its super convenient to get some free food in the hotel to hold you over until you can start exploring. The staff was very nice and friendly. Pro Tip: ask for the rooms facing the Three Sisters and enjoy the views. read more

Terrible service. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. My wife and i love residence inns and usually only stay at residence inns, but DO NOT stay at this one. My wife and i booked a king suit for $150 for one night. When we come to check in. They kept asking me if i had a form. I kept asking them what form? They said i need a form to use my discount. I told them i had no idea what form they are talking about. I have never used a form before. They didn't end up honoring the discount because we didn't have this form that they couldn't describe. So they charged us $180 for the king suit instead of $150. Plus $10 for overnight parking, so $190. On top of this, the bed in our room was a queen bed. Which was upsetting because we paid for a king and i am a big man and need a king bed. When i told the lady at the front desk that it was a Queen instead of a king, she told me that wasn't possible and it's a king suit. I sleep on a king bed every night of my life I know the difference between and king and queen bed. I asked her if we could pay for a queen room because we slept on a queen bed. She said if she charged us for a queen room that would cost even more. Just terrible service. Didn't honor our discount. And charged us for a king bed when they gave us a queen. read more

I didn't stay here but took a tour as I was looking at a new site - option for staff that came in from out of town as well as a spot to hold a Board meeting every now and then, was I ever impressed with this location. Hotel is super clean, big and immaculately maintained. The staff was very friendly and helpful - as you would expect from a business in the service industry. Management team - top notch. Very nice location - near the Old mill district. Clean rooms. Helpful staff. No way to get fresh air in the room-windows don't open. The indoor swimming pool is really tiny and the jacuzzi is way too much chlorinated. The "new" breakfast is, well, like food you probably get only on a really cheap airline. No bread, toast, or even bagels - zero. Everything is microwaved from frozen and is the same every day. Almost rotten bananas... Mcdonald's is like a gourmet restaurant compared to this. read more

It really is too bad that this hotel is so far out in the middle of nowhere (compared to where "the majority" live), because of all of the various Marriotts I've stayed at over years this one was top of the heap in almost every way that really mattered. Checkin was smooth, the guy who did it got me taken care of with a smile, fast and efficient. No more than two-ish minutes at the outside. Way better compared to that nightmare Fairfield that I stayed at down in West Covina. Billing was done correctly the first time, temp hold was released immediately and charges were clear. The hotel is VERY clean, new carpeting throughout (EVEN IN THE STAIRS) and, as an added bonus, despite not being on the top floor (which means you hear walking above you), everything was acceptably QUIET. It didn't sound like a bunch of elephants clomping around. No loud door slams. Not able to hear talking through the walls. Not able to hear running water sounds. Despite being near active roads and current construction, it was just overall peaceful and I appreciated that very much. You can tell that the people running the place care about the stay experience; it shows. This place came off better than some of the higher end Marriotts I stayed at before. Decor was nice as well. Shower had a very nice visual appearance and the showerhead was AWESOME. Although they don't seem to be using tankless heaters as it took a bit to get hot water. Parking is free and the grounds were very well kept. Bed was decently comfortable. Not the best I've ever slept in but absolutely not the worst. Wasn't really a fan of the pillows though. But the cherry on top? CENTRAL. HEATING. AND. AIR. Oh my goodness. No window units. Absolutely amazing (and it's sad that I get impressed over something that should be the standard by now). The only negatives: - the breakfast. The eggs were REAL eggs, and the toaster was the professional kind. Clean and well laid out. But (1) they don't offer paper/plastic/styrofoam utensils. This isn't a major thing except that it means you can't take your breakfast to go (i.e. out of the hotel) like I often do if I have a morning appointment. I won't ding them a star for that because I'm particular in that regard. And (2) the sausage tasted terrible - fake. - $3.50 each if you take/drink the liter water bottles in the room. Seriously? The five of us comfortably ate, played and slept for four days while Skiing Bachelor and no one died or committed homicide which is amazing. I'm in Bend for work. I suffer from PTSD. Management at the residence inn hates the fact that my doctor prescribed me medication. Management and staff do not think I should be able to have my medication out in my living room. Called my work and told them that I smoked in the room. Went to the hotel took the manager to my room proved I did not smoke in the room. She had to notify my work she was wrong. Did she apologize for her error, no! She told me her staff is uncomfortable with my cbd being left out in my room. Where I'm living for two months. They weren't uncomfortable with my alcohol that was left out. Just my medication. Two other things that bothered me were the parking fees! $10 a night for a suburban area is ridiculous. Water with fruit in it by elevators. If fruit is not floating, it is water logged and old. This hotel is on the expensive side but the amenities in the room and the view (if you are on the west side) may be worth it. The room is spacious, comfortable with a kitchen that has a somewhat noisy refrigerator. The bathroom mirror lighting is very good but the shower floor is a bit slippery. At least one of the lamps has a tiny on/off switch camouflaged on the pole. Put some florescent paint on it. Breakfast is the usual with scrambled eggs from a package but there are also hard-boiled eggs. The food preparer doesn't believe it is necessary to cut the "eyes" out of the pineapple or the rinds from the kiwi fruit. It is about a half mile walk to the main street of the Old Mill District. read more

Quality: I've spent over 110 nights in hotels in Bend this year (2020, Feb-Dec) both the Residence Inn and the SpringHill Suites. While both are always exceptionally clean and comfortable, I personally feel more at home at the Residence Inn. They provide a level of modern comfort you don't see everywhere. From check-in to check-out I don't worry about a thing I'm always taken care of by their professional staff. I have stayed all through COVID-19 and never once had any concerns about my health being at risk. Kudos: I actually stayed at the SpringHill Suites when the ICE protest broke out in the parking lot next door, all personal views aside the staff made sure the guests were properly informed and accommodated parking inconveniences despite them having no control over the situation at hand. Accommodations: The beds are very comfortable, TV's are newer and offer streaming services everyone is familiar with, having a kitchen was a big plus and never felt there wasn't anything I was missing. I'm an early riser for work usually 4:30-5am, though I cant speak for all guests I have never had any issues with other loud guests or their pets waking me even staying on the first floor. The only recommendation I would give for improvement would be to consider replacing the shower heads with something a little less generic. I found I would have to adjust it to the tightest spread or I wouldn't have enough pressure to wash off much of anything. If I used the most common multi jet setting many are familiar with at home it would create a funny cone around my body making it a bit of a dance to wash off any soap. Really not the biggest incomitance just something that I felt was worth mentioning. read more

This hotel is in a great location, is usually very clean and the staff very polite. My main complaint is that they never seem to be able to honor any of the perks of being a Marriott member. Late check-outs are often hummed and hawed, we have never been given an upgrade (we have stayed here at least 10 times) and early check-ins just do not happen. read more

PET OWNERS BEWARE! After booking through Priceline, I was shocked to learn at check-in about the egregiously high pet fee, as well as the parking fee. It feels like the Marriott is not actually pet-friendly, but rather, happy to take advantage of pet owners by charging exorbitantly high fees, and also, of its customers in general by charging a parking fee...how many customers come to a hotel without a car? It seems to me like Marriott is hiding extra costs to make their prices seem comparable, and then charging extra fees when it's too late to cancel the reservation. We will not be back. read more

I was most impressed with the ability to customize your breakfast options for pick-up as most places have done the minimum for breakfast options. The hotel was clean and nicely furnished. The bar was great for drinks but not so much on the food, you are better off going to a local spot for food considering there are tons. Pets are allowed which we did see plenty but not once did we hear them and our room didn't smell like dog which was nice. The showers are odd the way they are designed so water gets everywhere and the shower head is just terrible lol. Hot water is ample though so that is a huge plus in a large place like this. The housekeeping was out and about early the second morning talking very loud and cursing while hotels patrons were out and about which was not okay considering the amount of small children here. We could order towels and other amenities to be delivered to the room from an app on the phone which was handy. Overall it's a very nice hotel and very beautifully decorated. Just a few cons here and there but nothing to make me not stay again :) read more

Clean and friendly hotel! This is our first time here and it will be our last time. Since the summertime we ended up paying over $900 for three days but it was worth the money. Unfortunately the only one that thing was about this trip as I came here with my fiancé and they ended up giving us two king size beds inside of one queen size. They did tell us that they would move us into a different room the next day but we didn't want to move all her stuff back in. The only one thing I would fix for this company and see if they would accommodate us with something maybe free dinner or anything that they would give out for free. Since they made a mistake about giving me and my fiancé two separate beds instead of one which was a little bit awkward since were used to sleeping together. I just wish the front desk would've called the manager and gave us some type a mini accommodation nothing asking for big But overall I would give this place a five out of five. The customer service is excellent and the breakfast was absolutely amazing. I highly recommend this place. They are about a mile or two away from delicious restaurants and if you want to go rafting There are plenty of businesses around this area. Again you get what you paid for. Good service, clean rooms, excellent breakfast that's providing for you for free. And their Wi-Fi is out extremely fast. read more

We love the Marriott brand and we frequent these hotels on our travels. This is a fairly new hotel and the staff we encountered were all excellent. We only had one unexplainable encounter when asking to purchase laundry soap for the onsite guest laundry room. The desk clerk said, "we ran out quite some time ago and haven't ordered more." Really?! This is not an acceptable answer. I'm sure there is a way to get some in within a day. Also, there are no antibacterial wipes in the fitness center. We enjoyed staying at this Residence Inn until we received our surprise fees at the checkout. The hotel is clean and the breakfast was nice. This hotel that is "pet friendly" charges you at a very steep rate for that luxury of bringing your furry friend! We had two dogs with us and stayed one night. For that one night we payed almost as much for our dogs as we did for our entire room! They charged us $55 plus $6.55 in tax ($61.55) PER dog! I have stayed in luxury resorts with our pets that did not come close to charging this exorbitant fee! Needless to say we will be looking for other pet friendly options in the future.
