Great local, small business hardware store. It's perfectly located for me to access most things you may need for your DIY repairs or upgrades. The guys are knowledgeable and helpful. It's great to support local owned businesses and this store has the obvious things you'd expect but also sometimes I find those rare bolts or shower valves nobody else has. I always saw this place but never went in. I needed some metric screws and decided to check them out since I knew Lowe's or Home Depot wouldn't have them or have a bad selection. I was amazed they could get so many things in that small store. And yes, they had exactly what I needed. The guys are friendly and know where everything is in there. Aside from having a great collection of tools, they have everything you need for home projects as well as things you don't need but would probably purchase since you saw them. I walked into this hardware store with a minor plumbing emergency and wanted to get in and out as fast as possible. I immediately asked the owner/clerk a very simple and straightforward question, "Where are your compression fittings?" Any idiot could have immediately answered me. Instead of pointing me to the wall-mounted bins that hold the 3/8 inch compression fittings I need, he asked me a totally useless and off-topic question: "You need Sharkbite?" Now I'm not an idiot. I know what a 3/8 inch compression fitting is and what a Sharkbite connection is. I'm in a hurry. I KNOW WHAT I NEED, DO NOT "HELP" ME DIAGNOSE A PROBLEM I ALREADY DIAGNOSED. I tell him I don't need a Sharkbite connector. He asks me what size and I say 3/8 inch. "Could you just show me where the compression fittings are?" He gestures to a wall behind the counter. "Your compression fittings are back there?" Yes, he says, as he starts to dig around in a bin. Then he pulls out a 3/8 inch Sharkbite connector and hands it to me. I almost want to punch him in his stupid stubborn face. "I don't need a Sharkbite, can you just tell me where the compression fittings are?" Instead of helping me (a second chance), he again asks a question, "What do you need this for?" I'm nearly furious that this jerk assumes I don't know what I'm doing with my plumbing emergency and that he feels he still has to ask me a bunch of questions to "help" me. I explain I need a compression fitting cap to close a t-joint that's part of a water shut-off valve where and ice machine line used to be. I don't have an ice machine, so I have to cap the t-joint before I can turn on the cold water to the sink. This jerk thinks for a minute and (instead of just telling me which aisle to go to), slowly walks out from behind the counter and down the plumbing aisle. He walks to the wall of bins with all the compression fittings, and instead of letting me find what I need, he fumbles around for a minute, then finally hands me the part I need, which I could have found ON MY OWN, 3 MINUTES AGO. What a jerk. Completely paternalistic attitude, assuming that "this guy doesn't look like a professional plumber, I better hold his hand the entire time he's in my store." If this were not the only hardware store close to my new home, I would never go there again. For the owner, a tip: if someone walks into your store in a hurry and asks a VERY specific question, don't assume they're an idiot who doesn't know what they're doing and "help" them out like a child. Just ANSWER THEIR QUESTION. read more

Purchased a bulb from this store and it only worked for 2 days. Bad product, but the store worker did not want to neither return it, nor exchange it. He told me no returns on electrical tools. But this is not a tool. Also, he told me to call manufacture of product (that is what he was supposed to do) and didn't care about any review. Earlier in the day, I had visited Home Depot (mistake) and wish I had just come here first. I needed some new light bulbs and went there and after all the hassle dealing with the miserable people at Home Depot, they didn't work, and were more expensive than at Reseda Hardware. Plus, I like supporting a local business because they have items that the big chains don't carry. Especially when they have competitive prices and better service. One day, these small stores will be out of business and the only hardware items we'll have to choose from are what Home Depot tells us to choose. I came in in a Saturday and the guy behind the counter was on the phone. I waited for service for awhile and realized it was a personal call. after time had passed, he asked me what I wanted, still on the phone. I told him what I needed and he brushed me off. Went here to get screen repaired was told that the screen could not be repaired and would cost $135.00 +tx to rebuild a screen.. This is a simple hardware store that did not seem capable of fulfilling their offer. I was told by the older man that the costs was reasonable and to be expected. WELL... I went to Home Depot bought a new screen with warranty for $94.97 and paid $65.00 after taking a HD CC. Im disappointed that this mom n pop shop rejected my business by attempting to over charge me and force me to go to the big box store Home Depot. read more

I am a true believer in supporting local small businesses who offer much needed services to their areas. The workers here always greet you with a hello and a smile. The inventory here is amazing for a small neighborhood hardware store. What a delite to deal with a local store which seems to appreciate their customers. The staff here is always ready to serve and very knowledgeable about DIY, hardware, plumbing and electrical projects. Sha-pur is a former master plumber who can help guide you through your plumbing problems and make suggestions about how to fix your plumbing. Amir is an overall concerned hardware merchant who believes in selling the right product for the job at hand. Btw....both brothers grew up in the hardware business and will special order mdse. if not currently in stock. They show me exactly where what I need is and even explain how to accomplish the task at hand. I recently went to buy parts to install a water line to my fridge and had to go back a couple times because a handy man I am not. Just bought a water heater from them after hours on the phone trying to find a major store with store stock. Talked to Amir and it will be delivered in 2 hour! You know that when you call home depot and can't get anyone on the phone or go into that store and all the sales help are stocking shelves or doing inventory... then your glad that there is a local hardware store that has what you need when you need it. And they know what a pan head screw is and stock it. Totally love this store. No corporate hype, just great attention and service and parts that reflect the homes in the area! Update... I purchased a water heater for a competitive price. To my pleasure and surprise, not only was the water heater was delivered to my door within 2 hour, additionally, Amir wheeled it to the side of my house and installed for me... Didn't have the screws I was looking for. Bought a wide variety to see if it would work. Went to return the screws I bought on Janurary 25th and they informed me that they have a policy that they don't accept returns after 10 days... I understand that it is their policy but when I bought them, I made it clear I was going to have to return them if they didn't fit. Tried and they didn't work correct. Didn't get around to the store until today. Annoying that they wont take back perfect screws I kept in my garage. Oh well. read more

I'm pretty sure the only other post (the one before mine) was put there by Reseda Hardware and not an actual customer. I was there the same day and I was treated with nothing but disrespect. I called beforehand asking if they carried an item to fix my broken toilet lid and the man on the phone said there's only one size and it's universal. So, I came in and was shown the item by another man but I didn't think it would work because it wasn't the same size as the broken piece I had. I was called over to the counter by the man I spoke with on the phone and there must have been some misunderstanding because he got very sharp with me. I was trying to explain that I didn't think it would work because I already purchased pieces that were the wrong size and these were the same as those. He kept saying "Do you want it or not?" and I said something like, "You don't have to get so upset." Unfortunately, it escalated and two young men behind the counter started to laugh. I turned to them and asked sharply if they could stop laughing and help me. I'm glad someone was amused. I was pissed by then and after a few words were thrown around, I left. Yes, it probably was just some misunderstanding but if you're running a business and someone is asking for you help and that person doesn't think something will work, you could tell them nicely that it will instead of being disrespectful. I wanted to help out the little guy but instead, I left unhappy and headed to OSH. Don't waste your time here unless you already know exactly what you need to purchase. Well, based on the last poster, there really isn't a major chain near me so I went there. I found what I needed with a little assistance from the two gentlemen there. I was greeted with a smile and was asked how they can help. I was in and out of there in a matter of minutes. I paid more than I would have liked but that is expected at a mom and pop store. In attempt to self-repair our neglected twenty year-old sprinkler system and convert it to a drip system for our forthcoming xeriscaped front yard... I am continually running into issues. Tired of driving east to Home Depot on Sepulveda or west on Roscoe, I searched Yelp for a hardware store in our area (needed a 3/4" pvc cap to seal off a sprinkler); we found Reseda Hardware Store. After the 2 minute drive instead of 22, the lady and I were immediately greeted and offered assistance. I briefly explained the issue and we were shown the proper piece and told how to secure it. I then detailed a larger sprinkler issue we were dealing with, and he resolved quickly and gave us everything we needed to fix it. Mind you, this is the first time I was in this store and had spoken to this gentleman... and he was 100% correct. Problem fixed. I don't think that's ever happened to us at The Home Depot or Lowe's.
