Instructors are very young and not accommodating towards the average age demographic of the members. Not enough modifications for repetitive intense exercises that cause pain. 2) Not enough reformer exercises. Most of the class is spent doing calisthenics. We're spending $189 a month to take Pilates classes, but the class format is more like an intense fitness class than an actual Pilates class. 3) Students are not allowed to adjust the Pilates reformer according to our body height, strength, etc. which is very strange. At other Club Pilates locations, it is encouraged to adjust the reformer machine as needed for each individual.

Also, there is always cold water in the fridge for after class, small lockers for phones and small items (such as jewelry and wallet, for example), and cute little things that are easy to forget on the way to class (hair bands, socks, etc.). They don't offer anything other than a signature reformer class. I am coming from a studio that offers various levels of classes, so to see one class for people at all levels is slightly problematic. I'm not new to this and their classes are intense even for me. I can't imagine what it would be like for a newbie. Even as an established Pilates girl, some of the moves are not done with caution and a little carelessly and someone could seriously injure themselves. That is concerning to me as someone that values safety in any physical activity. There are no fans in the studio. It's gets clammy and a little smelly quickly depending on who you are working out next to. I've never been to a Pilates studio with no fans, so that is a little odd. Overall, I haven't connected there. I feel like you are just a number when you're there. The instructors have been nice, but they don't really connect with you if that makes sense. It feels very impersonal compared to where I'm coming from. I have a class pack here while I explore new studios, but I don't know if I'll finish them. I believe that their pricing is fair and matches the area. It is worth trying out, but if you are new to Pilates I think it would be overwhelming.

I typically take megaformer classes, but Bodybar was a fun way to switch it up. While I found it to be a little bit easier than a megaformer class, it was still a challenging and fun class that consistently burned out my muscles. This studio has plenty of space and there's never any issues getting a spot in a class. There's so many options at all times, which makes it really convenient for fitting into my constantly changing schedule. My favorite thing was that there was no initial membership fee to join unlike other studios in the area. The instructors are also very attentive and accommodating. They make sure you have the right form and are willing to work around any physical limitations. I don't think you could go wrong taking a class with any of them. My favorites are Tricia for a lower level class, Nara for an intermediate/higher level, and Julia G for the more advanced, high impact classes. I would recommend Platinum Pilates to anyone interested in pilates, no matter the experience level. I've only been to this Lewisville location and not the new McKinney one, but I'm sure that studio is great as well.

I didn't feel as nervous after entering the room and not feeling fully on display. The Nia class was 30 minutes and I thoroughly enjoyed it. All of it was just uncomfortable for me. The room for me is too small. I'm 5 feet 11 and some of the workouts I cannot even do because no matter what angle I turned, I would be hitting somebody else. I did not feel that the instructor was beginner, friendly or engaging enough at all. I also had a hard time hearing the instructor on top of her telling us to do moves but not showing all of them..There's a lot of beginners in this class and majority of the room looked absolutely lost and confused and I just don't feel like she was interacting with people well enough or showing the workouts to where we can clearly understand and see. Half of the time I was really lost. Overall disappointed. When I left my first Pilates class I felt so comfortable, I felt seen and I absolutely enjoyed my experience. Everyone has different preferences, but this was just not it. I also felt like staff wasn't engaging enough for me either. Low energy. Overall not a good experience.
