I love this store! The prices are good, the store is very well organized and the staff is friendly. Also, they offer weekly specials.

Especially around customer service, the amount of time it takes to adopt a pet and if the pet was still adoptable once we got through the process. Well, we DIDN'T have ANY of the bad experiences others reported. The customer service upon entry from START to FINISH was OUTSTANDING. Upon arrival, we were greeted by the front desk with excellent customer service. The 'cat' coordinator who took us to the cat section was VERY knowledgeable about the cats and spent an incredible amount of time with us. We didn't feel rushed at all. P.A.W.S followed through with everything they said they would do. The whole process from seeing our little Whisper to picking her up and taking her to her new home was six days (and that's because two of the days we weren't available). The process went very smoothly. They answered our questions in person and returned our phone calls and emails timely. They are very concerned about their pets and the homes their animals are placed in. We feel really honored to house one of the pets from their facility. Thank you P.A.W.S for everything you do for animals!

Horrible. My mom and I have been searching for a puppy that was either a German shepherd, husky,…read moreor lab. We went to this facility before close at 4 and don't get my wrong the lady who came out to talk to us was amazing and shared great info on how to utilize their website to see what animals they had available! They had a beautiful puppy that was a lab/retriever mix. So my mom went through the process and applied to adopt this little fur baby. After two weeks, there had been no reply from the people who supposedly view these applications. So my mom had emailed for an update 3 times!!!! WITH NO RESPONSE. I don't know who is in charge of that but it's straight ignorance. I understand they want to find a good home for these animals but jeez at least communicate! We have been dog lovers are whole life. In this household we currently have a German shepherd who is 6 years old and had a German/ husky mix that had passed two Christmas' ago at the age of 12. With no email back, my mom and I went up to the facility to meet the pup in person. And the rules there are RIDICULOUS. You can not get to the level of the dog which is crouching to the floor. They don't allow the dog to lick you or come too close in contact with you. It's like how are you supposed to get to know the pup and see if it's a right fit for you? They don't allow 1:1 with the pup and it's crazy. After not hearing back for a month and a half, we ended up saving/adopting a pup from a humane society in Munster, Indiana. She's beautiful, shots up to date, fixed, got 1:1 time with her, and took her home the same day! She got along with our shepherd and the kids love her. DO NOT GO TO PAWS

During my interview I explained to Cindy that I wasn't sure if I was ready but this guy caught my eye etc. He was already pending adoption so I was bummed bc I felt like he was supposed to be part of our family. Fast forward a week later and I get a call that his first applicants fell through due to their extensive travel plans, I brought him home and we all adjusted to the other and by week 3 we were in love. After finding out more about him/his history I really felt that my dog that had passed sent him. What I really appreciated about the rescue is how thorough they are in the process and they make sure it's a fit for everyone. They knew I might not be ready but gave me a chance and it worked out for everyone. I can't recommend this rescue more.

Chris and her entire foster and transport team are nothing short of angels in the dog saving world…read more They've helped hundreds of animals, not just dogs. They work tirelessly and spend any amount of money necessary to save a dog in their foster care. I am a proud foster failure of Pet Profile Rescue and now I help foster other dogs (even though I want to, I can't keep them all). Without these amazing people helping rescue these puppy mill dogs and nurturing them back to health, many many dogs would have died needlessly...but instead they have wonderful new loving families and safe homes. Thank you! Please keep up the good work! I wouldn't have my Sophie without you!!!

Great staff. I had researched cats on line and knew the one I wanted to meet. The staff were great,…read moremeet went well and the adoption process was easy. The huge problem was my cat was starving. When I looked at the records this small cat lost 20% of her body weight in about 3 months. When I got her home and fed her the same food she couldn't keep it down. If I continued with feeding her that food, and I added a good quality canned food, same issue, she wouldn't have last 6 weeks. Luckily a friend gave me a bag of food which I tried. 3 months later she is healthy, great weight and happy. I know they are a huge number of animals to watch but even their vets commented on how skinny she was and how she was losing weight. There is some lack.

We know the person that surrendered him and this is where he took him. First we were told he had been neutered and it would be a couple of days. They knew we were going to take the dog! Called today, got the run-around, put in hold and then disconnected. Called back and was told the dog was "transferred" but they would not divulge where he was taken. We were told a manager would call back ... didn't happen. Sent an e-mail to Darlene, the president, again no response. How sad. I used to donate a lot of money to this shelter, but stopped because of poor practices. I'll send my money to Felines and Canines. They genuinely care about the animals. Please don't take your dogs there!

Background check, application…read moreprocessed, only $60.00 they both were microchip, vaccinated, spayed and neutered, ventinary check up to deem the health. The past 3 months have been fun. Midnight, is female, sits on the top of the living room chair watching out the window. Friendly, lovable, meows for me to pet her; such a stress reliever. Leo, the male, is shy. He will spend most of his time downstairs. The cats are quiet, clean, low-maintenance for the life I live. The animal control personal were very professional. The animals were shown care. I appreciated the genuine attitude the building and staff showed. If interested in a pet give a sheltered animal a chance because animals adopted from shelters typically cost less than ones purchased or even acquired for free--once you add in the cost of vaccinations, spay/neuter surgery, microchip, dewormer, and other "tide bits" included in your adoption fee, you'll probably be surprised what a bargain it is to have chosen an adopted pet. Most shelters and rescue groups conduct thorough behavioral analyses of each pet to get a better ideal that they will be the right piece for your family. Schererville Animal Control did this and told me if anything happens to please bring the pets back. I can not recommend to adopt a shelter animal anymore than buying from a pet store etc. Most pets end up homeless through no fault of their own--"moving" and "landlord issues" are the top reasons people give for relinquishing their pets, please check out your local shelter. It was definitely 100% worth it for my children and I.
