Love this place. Last of a dying breed in this area. Prices are very good for hay for our pet rabbits and the dog food selection is great.

I always come here to get horse stall pellets for the cat litter. Good price and saves lots of money.

Bought 2/4 of our lizards here. So far 1/2 on happiness. Great place! Great staff! So many options!…read morehonestly just an amazing place to go! #1. Ball python. Just a basic. IRA, she is beautiful! She is so friendly, and loving. A great eater and an amazing companion! Love her so much. #2. Northern Blue tongue (supposedly). After doing a lot of research as to why she is not getting along with others (including us)... we found out more than likely she is wild caught and constantly hisses and runs away. If you're a lizard owner you understand the nature of wild caught and the potential problems they posses. I want to make it clear, this is in no way the fault of this place. However, probably should do some research on the "breeder" you're getting the skinks from. Other than having a wild lizard! Will continue to expand our family through this place! Don't go anywhere else in the Chicagoland area!

This is a photo of my red foot tortoise, the day I got her, May 4th, 2020. I will say that I was…read morenew to reptiles, and have since learned so much. As you can see, she looks very unhealthy, her shell is malformed, and I had no idea what I was doing. She was likely sick when I purchased her, and I had no idea that the deformed shell showed that she had not been properly cared for. I have since sought advice from folks more knowledgeable about reptiles, and specifically Redfoot tortoises, and two vets. Her shell still looks rough, but 6 years later with proper humidity and temps, the new growth is far healthier. She was treated for two respiratory infections within the year after I got her, due to her poor health. I never thought I'd have to give a tortoise injections of antibiotics, but alas, that's where I found myself. I was naive, and thought that purchasing an animal from a reptile specific store would be safe. I have since learned it was not, and truly feel that the employees took advantage of my lack of knowledge, and sold me an unhealthy animal on purpose, assuming I wouldn't know the difference. I believe a pet is a commitment. We will keep our tortoise and care for her for the rest of her life, but it would have been nice if she had an easier start to life. It took me many years to write this, but that is only a fraction of the time that I will own a deformed tortoise.

I brought my terrier in to be groomed by Betty C. During the consultation, when she asked what…read morelength I wanted the hair to be, she also asked if I wanted her to file her nails and brush her teeth. I replied, "No thank you, I don't want her teeth brushed", so she proceeded to say, "OK, just the nails." Please note, nail filing is included in the bathing package. When I went to pick her up, she had added a $22 charge for a Premiere Package, which included teeth brushing, an extra nail filing, and some oatmeal wash. When I questioned it and told her that I didn't want her teeth brushed, she replied, "Yeah, I didn't. I just filed her nails." So I paid $22 on top of the $58 bathing charge because she spent an extra 22 seconds on an "extra" nail file?! By the way, her nails looked the exact same as they always do when I just get the regular bathing package, which includes nail filing. This was a deceptive, extra charge and I will NEVER BRING MY DOG THERE AGAIN. So shortsighted, to con customers that could be a consistent source of revenue for some extra cash.

Came to the location to use a coupon that I didn't know was expired. They were helpful and honored…read moreit. But that honor came with some serious attitude and time wasted. Just an overall bad experience since Petco doesn't have the brands I prefer and went out of my way since I'm far from all the shops now. Even got attitude as to why I came to that store and not one closer, as if they know what's going on in my life. Shopping online has taken over, folks with bad attitudes belong in a warehouse instead of the face of the store. Now is not the time. Pet Plus is great. Same prices, helpful people.
